And that’s awesome because at least you know that you weren’t subconsciously brainwashed by your own people to believe that you were somehow inferior to other races. We’re in a really sad time when we need a damn cartoon (or live action remake) filled with fictional characters which don’t exist in ANY race to make us feel like we’re relevant and that we matter.

I want real and unique African American characters from the get go, I dont want to have to wait for race swapped reboots to see my skin tone on screen. Next are we gonna make Pocahontas Mexican or princess Jazmin asian or maybe princess Tiana should be white? 🤷‍♀️ Changing the faces of the past WILL NOT change the past. Even if they borrow heavily from the little mermaid with a storm it would still be more original than and she gives up her life in the sea to save him, because she's black she would also end up a slave on the surface. It could close with him going back to save her as a hero in the Haitian revolution or something. It would still be more original than ariel in blackface.

With respect I would like to say what we ( as African Americans ) from the last two generations have face were Disney was concerned is like this; Imagine walking into your local big box store looking for a Disney doll for your daughter. And none of the princesses are black. In order for there to be a black princess they had to create a whole storyline. And then did they put her in a castle? No did you even ever see the prince’s castle? No. For a character like the little mermaid to come out live action and be black. That means the dolls will be black to. The girls when they wear a costume the colors will be more suited to a girl of color for once. It means so much more than what you would think it would. And that’s OK because you’re not black. And you’re not a Black American for sure. And it’s OK that you don’t understand. I just hope you’re open to understanding. Have a blessed day.🥰

Her name is snow white and is described as such in the book. I don't care if you want the mermaid. But if you're not waking up to the social engineering game then we'll have fun playing the ultimate tennis match of racism.
If you feel like you can't see yourself in a white person or vice versa then you are truly the problem.
I'm a jew and my ancestors were enslaved too so get the f over it already. Every race has been enslaved if you read your history. Your not any different or special. Black people won't even say hello to me because I'm white. I guess race theory is really helping to eliminate the boundaries of race haha. Before they taught such I had many black friends but now I'm just a piece of shit for being white. It honestly doesn't bother me though because I'm beyond the focus of race and only look to God for discernment. And Christ does not give a damn about the color of your skin. No African or Carribbean stories they could of used, the decided to culturally appropriate a European one.
I think the real tragedy here is black people seem so eager to appropriate other cultures instead of leaning on their own.
Hey if it makes you feel good I'm glad, but there are some real questions that need to be answered in the black community about giving white characters blackface instead of telling stories about actual black characters.

Japanese people living in Japan wouldn't recognise Japanese culture any more than Nigerians recognise Nigerian culture.
White culture is a terrible term when it is infact better described as American Culture because despite being of Anglo origin unlike other cultures it is not ethnically exclusive. Because of the Republican element it is different to British culture which we currently see in full display with the death of the Queen and the ancient tribalism of the Anglo people's that American culture has cast aside. Although British culture is also no longer ethnically exclusive either.
