Just an observation, those batteries look identical to the ones that were used in the Black & Decker 'Matrix'/ Sears Craftsman 'Bolt On' power tool lines.

A little off topic I know but I must say those woodcarvings in the background are masterpieces!

hey jordy i got one its the 6 inch came with same 2 chain 2 battery and what i found its good for lines but not for detail it just does not turn fast enough but great for yard work or camping etc.. glad you did not open any skin with it... i have to tighten my chain every other use when it heats up im sure you notice how slack the chaain gets.. but tightens up easy RIP George.

Looks very tempting to use only one hand because saw is so small & noticed it became jumpy when you briefly used one hand on the tree. But seemed to cut well when using 2 hands, safety first !!!

It's a nice saw but should be held with two hands but not of any value for hardwoods. Excellent fruit limb trimmer

Jordy can i use this for making the whiskers or beard? small stuff like that?also like you said blocking?

I agree. You are too close to the chain. Get s small battery chainsaw by one if the official chainsaw companies. They have engineered safety into their product. Also China doesn't deserve any more of our money

Well...it is a branch trimmer after all...
I would have been surprised if it was powerful enough for your carving..heavy hands have no patience...that the batteries went pretty quick...yeah...
But like you said..little projects blocking out and cutting wood for blanks...
Thank you Jordy...stay safe...put that guard back on since it won't be used for detailing...
    Catch ya later...🌿🌿🌿

Perhaps it would be a better carving tool if it had a side handle, similar to an angle grinder, so that it could be used two handed.

I wondered if they would work. Looks a bit to chattery and dangerous. Good for foraging like you say..great video..thanks Jordy.

Jordy I,ve seen tools like this one attached to longer poles for gardening and when you are using this type theres little chance of hurting yourself as you are at a distance except not standing under the branch you are cutting which is just common sense!!! Thank you for showing this saw it looks to be a useful addition to your collection!!! I imaging the guard is a similar one to the table saw which lifts when the wood passes through. Hope you are keeping well, Doc😁😁😁👍👍👍🏗🏗🏗

I'm not to sure , u have to het a chainsaw that would take 1/4' sprockets, (carving bars are 1/4"

I kinda wondered about those little saws myself. I figured they might work for firewood when camping, but if the battery's don't last long maybe not. I might look for one that has bigger battery's. Hi Jordy.

Thanks Jordy! Haven't carved in awhile, life has been busy! But I wanna start again to do a little something for Christmas! I've got 2 giant maple trees and my yard, and have to cut dead limbs once in a while, this tool would be perfect! (With the appropriate protection gears folks, these things are dangerous... Studied in forestry, so I know how to use one, and even then, not my favorite tool)

I'm suprised that it worked . Now lets see how long it lasts. Doing thing I could maybe see that it would be good for is to take off that bar and chain and sprocket. AND stick it on a different Saw. If it's possible to do that wouldn't be a bad deal considering the cost of a mini carving bar and sprocket.
