    Powder hill looked fun. Those river crossings are no joke out there. Great video!

      @@MicahManago You guys riding well bro! Got me googling ways to get a bike out there last night while watching your video. I gotta ride there one day looks super fun.

      Heck yeah man, would be awesome to finally ride together. I’ve been wanting to get another 2-stroke on the side as an extra bike so if I do come across one for a decent price I’ll pick it up and you’ll have a bike here anytime you visit bro.

      @@MicahManago Right on bro that would be awesome. Was looking into some on Craigslist last night out there but inflation got them so high it’s crazy. Checked out shipping my bike out there and it’s way too high for a week. Amazon got these new Apollo 250’s for like 1,500 but I’m not sure if they ship to hawaii yet every time I tried said unavailable.

      Yup, bikes are in demand now hehe cheee! Got a nice 22 sherco 300se all decked out and ready for the trails on fb rn for 8k which is actually a solid deal in todays market. Still debating lol & yes those China apollos are really cheaply made tho. A warehouse sells them out here but I think it’s better to stay away from them. I know it’s really cheap but those things won’t last in the trails. A while back I grabbed a small quad from them for my moms just because and you can tell immediately that it’s not built right. The right one will show up tho I have no doubt.

    So, the "flower patch tunnel" or the "H2 tunnel trail" - everything orange ribboned on the highway side, I have been cleaning and cutting, and adding new sections to for 5 years. I spent a lot of time in there during Covid. The bottom trail used to be only yellow... then somebody started adding orange recently. The top trail was only a series of hill climbs and Trials bike/pig trails that I strung together to make one trail that doesn't get all muddy like the bottom.
    When you got to the very top (14:30) and turned around by the highway, there's new culvert construction just past that, it's passable now. It's overgrown because it was out of use for 6 months during highway construction. It also goes back to the left (towards the tunnel) along the highway another mile to your left, then zig-zags down a steep hill I call "elevator" - beginning of "elevator" from the other side can be seen at (9:52) on your left. I recommend that one, it's fun.
    The orange ribbon up high was mine, the bottom in the creek bed used to be only yellow. Somebody came in and put orange in the creek bed... going to have to fix that soon, it's confusing. Nice to see some of my work on video... enjoy.

      Aloha Braddah Russ, Wow thanks for the detailed comment and sharing your knowledge of the grounds with us. Much appreciated man, will have to check them out next time. As for the orange ribbons, we usually put em up as a breadcrumb trail incase we get lost can find our way out and to help others use as a guide (since we only ride easy stuff most people can follow and wont have a hard time). Also we take our surrons in there at night and we need the orange ribbons to navigate as things look extremely different pitch black. During this ride it was confusing because we couldn't distinguish our orange from yours. We had no idea someone else was using orange.
      We have never ripped off anybody's ribbons because we dont know if they need it to find their way out and would hate to be the cause of someone or groups being stuck in the trails. When we do encounter those types of moments where another color throws us off we just simply tie our color above it so we know and the original persons ribbon remains. This way everyone wins, plus its not our grounds the entire riding community shares it so who am I to be taking down someone else's work. Again, mahalos for stopping by, watching our videos, and sharing your knowledge. Hope us riders can continue being a solid community. Aloha!

    At (19:30) if you look up to your left, there was a Trials bike trail that I tamed and cleaned up, fun trail that loops back down and bypasses some of the muddy bottom.

      Aloha buddy, yeah lately been riding the TM. Missed the excess power, smell of gas & not worrying about batteries dying to much. Every now and again I’ll rip around the Surron like during heavy rains and muddy grounds. Easier to maneuver and if get stuck can just carry the bike out lol. Also, I don’t have one but I think Sam at Hawaii rides been selling those semi trials shercos. Like a trials bike but has a seat and it might be pretty light weight, may be a good option for you.

      @@MicahManago No doubt, I pedaled all that stuff, then chilled in the pineapple field along the road. Workers would offer us grub or fresh pineapple. We’d pedal all the way to the top of the plateau that overlooks PH and western part of the island.

      @MicahManago Sad to hear. Back then, everyone felt like Ohana. I guess the sense of Ono isn't a thing anymore. I did notice the change in 98 when I was leaving the island. When I returned again in 2004, I didn't recognize the place the traffic and crime had gotten so bad.

    Can stock surron make it on that trail?

    • @MicahManago
      @MicahManago  3 місяці тому

      It can definetly do the perimeter trail & all the flats. Where it may become difficult to make is the hills section, especially bottle & powder hill. All would need is a bigger rear sproket tho & couple extra chain links but that should come with the sproket. I got mine long ago from Luna Cycles.

    Wassup bruddah 🤙🏽I was wondering why Unks ride Sherco instead of KTM? I just bought one 23’ 300xcw , hope I bought the right bike 🤷🏽‍♂️

    • @MicahManago
      @MicahManago  Рік тому +1

      Hows it my man. Nah no ways, can never go wrong with one KTM. He get couple KTMs as well. His erzberg is one hammah bike but them KTMs get mean kine yank ahaha. Sometimes too much power drain the body to fast. He just went grab the sherco cuz he wanted one carborated bike and feels almost the same to my TM he sold me. The TM I ride he built and got it so dialed in that he missed the feeling & the sherco can come close to it. As long as you ride European bikes you going be solid. KTM, Husky, Sherco, TM, Beta all good. I take euro over Japanese anyday. Also, you ride trail or track because that makes big difference. If you going hit trails should install one fan on your XCW. Don’t know why they don’t come with already, more money I guess lol.
