for those who are interested, or don't know, the actual Island of Tsushima and the rest of Japan were so blown away by this game, they made the lead developers at Sucker Punch the permanent Ambassadors of Tourism for Tsushima

The choreography of sequences, the background, the leaves (huge part in this), the colors, costume design, the plot and character dialogue is simply outstanding. I am just awestruck. About 10 years from 2022 and there will be no difference between animation & heavy "special effects." This is among the first generation of animation "movies" that has close to human-like motion, a few orders of magnitude more realistic than what we have in the days of Mario Brothers and Super Mario Brothers animation --- as well as the games teenagers played in the era of TERMINATOR TWO --- of the early 1980s to 90's...

By far one of the best games I’ve ever played it’s full of life lessons and ideals that have been forgotten for so long not to mention how absolutely beautiful it is and it runs so nicely on a ps4 honestly just a masterpiece

This game is a piece of fiction based on real events. Nothing more. There is hardly any culture or warrior class that hasn't written words like 'honour', 'valour', integrity' all over their flag. Japan has just managed to make people believe that these values are *ABSOLUTELY* integral to their very own culture. Which is crap. Like a good deal of other things believed about this country.
That stems from the Bushido bs. The book was written in the late 19th century intended to shape the image of Japan for the minds of the Westerners (and the author being a fan of the West intentionally included the idea of Western knights' chivalry).
The book wasn't well received by the Japanese back then because it presented a concept at best and was a scam at worst and was never anything valid for either the bushi class or anyone else in the county.
Nobody could afford to be all noble and not a tad pragmatic like Jin's uncle. That was NEVER an ideal of anyone, least of all the shogunate.
This book was published at a time when the samurai class had been sidelined and bankrupted for about 265 years and it was finally used as cheap propaganda by the government in the 20th century and people - both the Japanese and the West - started to romanticise the country's past. And that's what it is.
Whereas things like courage, honour, devotion are never wrong in themselves. The misuse of them will always be detrimental but without true values societies go to sht. Quickly.

Beautiful movie. And for the people such as myself that has played the full game, you could easily make another 2 hours for the side quests alone. They're just as powerful storylines and tie in to the main campaign so well. This game should have easily been Game of the Year. But politics will politic.

Dammmmm! I cant believe i just sat here for 2 hrs and 20 minz of my life! WELL WORTH IT! Dope story line. Felt like there was alot of esoteric teachings in what the older samurai was telling the younger one, like 'oh before you can master the blade, your must learn to master your emotions...etc'. I don't normally leave movie reviews, but they earned this one. That ending tho......lol must watch!

Love this story!! I never look at animated stuff but I am glad I looked at this. So sad that he had to kill his beloved uncle; but he couldn't let his uncle kill him. He did what he had to do to save his country and its people. And his uncle wasn't too cool; because he wanted put all the blame of the poison on the female warrior to save his nephew!

Well a lord has to motivate his warriors to risk death for the cause somehow. Samurai had Bushido, Vikings had Valhalla, Crusaders had God and so forth. So the concept of honour accommodated those who died in service.@@vijayaustin3987

I'm an avid game players of many years. I have never try a game because a movie/cut scenes, but I think I'm going to make an exception for GoT!

Watching in 2022. First time of ever seeing this, and totally blown away. An amazingly well put together story, and none of the wokedness we see coming out of Hollywood today.
This is a battle between minds and pride. Jin's uncle is using his pride while Jin is mind. Sometimes we need to set aside our pride to survive.
I disagree. Jin fought for revenge, forgetting everything he had been taught. His uncle did not fight for pride, but for honor. A way of life. In the end, Jin got his revenge, but surrendered the way of the Samurai. As such, the Samurai turned against him, his revenge was short lived, and he was forced to kill his uncle. He effectively spat on the Bushido. Without Bushido there are no Samurai.

You all do know that the Samurai used the same arms as the Mongols. The Samurai were just as brutal in their warfare as every other military order at the time. I recommend Stephen Turnbull.
