The best character arc in the whole story is of lan wangji's probably. With few dialogues and microexpresions, yibo portrayed the journey so well. Talented for real.
What amazes me is how well Yibo was able to believably fill both roles, that of a prickly teenager and that of a grieving man. He pulled it off so well with such few lines. Wang Yibo is a great character actor and I can't wait to see more from him.

lan wangji is one of the hardest characters to portray. yibo really gave justice to his character. despite the restrictions, while watching him i can really see lanzhan from the novel. one of the reasons why this drama has affected me so much. yibo's eyes expressions really hurt me a lot. he doesn't even need words, i can really tell that he's mourning, hurt, or happy, and those scenes when he wants to keep weiying with him cos he can't stand seeing him in pain. damn it's been 3 years i can still feel it 😂🥹 after watching this drama, i couldn't even watch any bl series in a while cos my standards were too high. took me a whole year to go back watching any series and i would just lower my expectations to enjoy the show.
