    The rotor removal demo was a huge help. I beat on mine for 20 minutes before I went to the hardware store to get the proper bolt to pop it off. Took a few seconds once I did, thanks. Great video!

    I definitely appreciated this video! I replaced the back rotors on my
    Expedition and this helped save me time and my husband was very thankful that I was so handy!

    Thanks man. Perfect. I like videos that get to what I'm actually looking for and not a bunch of bullshit. I appreciate it.

    Great video. Thanks for adding the torque specs. The editing cuts the video down where a lot of them show minutes of people turning wrenches etc 😂👍

    BOY I WISH I HAD SEEN YOUR VIDEO OF MY INITIAL SEARCH ! ! !
    I have watched several videos regarding the caliper bolts and caliper bracket bolts.
    You are the only person of the videos I’ve watched that verbally expressed the needed tools and size to remove loosen and remove the bolts.
    THANK YOU ! !
    Caliper bolts front - 9mm hex
    Caliper bolts rear - 7mm hex
    Caliper bracket bolts - 18mm socket
    Have you created a video for replacing the wheel hub assembly for the same vehicle type ?

    got a 2010, mines a 14mm hex head bolt into the threaded pins. 21mm on the bracket bolts here... Thanks for the video. Mine rotors used m8x1.50 bolts to pop the rotors off

    • @APPLEDUDEZ
      @APPLEDUDEZ 8 місяців тому

      I’ve seen one other video that also indicated that the caliper bracket bolt head is a 21mm.
      Guess some have 18mm and others are 21mm caliper bracket bolts.

  • @williewest2370
    @williewest2370 5 місяців тому

    You just remove those two bolts from the bracket and you don't have to remove the caliper just the bracket with the caliper still attached.

    My drivers side front caliper pistons wouldn’t retract and push the fluid back up. Pretty sure my biasing valve is bad as when I let off the brake pedal my drivers brake pads drag.

    • @aDIYCarGuy
      @aDIYCarGuy  4 роки тому

      My front R rubber brake line collapsed on the inside, which would allow the fluid to go into the caliper, but not back out, causing the brake to seize. I replaced the caliper because I thought it was seized, no luck, then I replaced the line, fixed my seized brake problem. I would try the line first since that's easiest and cheapest.

    Great video, mate! On those caliper bracket stretch bolts, what's the replacement size, etc.? No matter what I search, I can't figure it out, and I'd really like to have the new bolts on-hand before I do the job.

    • @jimimcintosh7796

      They are not stretch bolts. Just apply sealant to threads and torque

    • @APPLEDUDEZ

    I have an 09 and it has 9mm hex heads…. I just ran to the parts store from this video to buy hex heads and to my surprise it wasn’t a 7mm. And the variety pack I bought is 4-10 excluding a 9 lol. 20 more minutes. Just saying

    What if the rotor on the front is too stiff to rotate after you put the caliper back on?

    • @aDIYCarGuy
      @aDIYCarGuy  5 років тому

      Ayee You might not have compressed the caliper enough but that’s no big deal, it should work itself out once you drive around a little. Go for a short test drive, then lift both wheels off the ground and compare how they spin. There should be a little free play before you feel the driveline resistance also. Worst case if it’s still abnormally difficult to spin within that free play threshold and with the wheel on, the caliper could be seized.

    Bro, purty decent info on the swap-out BUT. You could have been a little more informative on the "step-by-step" process..just my opinion.€All in all, I could follow your vid & get the job done..Tell ur audience to make sure to wipe off any excess on the new rotor,d "forien substances" before installing pads..,ect..

    Heh, be happy your not working on a fleet issue. Those stupid rear calipers have the screw in pistons which you cannot even buy new calipers for the fleet issue.

    Am I the only one who replaces the caliper slide boots and rubber parts after 17 years? They turn to slag. And on these brakes, replacing those boots is a horrible job. Oh, guess that's why he didn't do it. Not a great idea to leave 17 year old rubber parts on your brakes.
