Just wanted to say thanks for this video--just did this on my truck today and followed along step by step. No more bad bearing hum/grinding noise! Also thanks for keepin it chill and not screaming at us. You're a good teacher.
Thanks for watching I appreciate 🍻 in a couple days your going to want to Jack up a wheel and double check there is no play in the rotor side to side. If there is adjust spindle nut in to the next hole the cotter pin wil fit through both the castle cover and nut! Then check again until no play 🍻 I always check this before I put the wheel on regardless of the torque procedure. That check checks the torque procedure was done correctly! not sure if I remember mentioning it ! Again thank you
@@ATEMOFFROAD oh awesome--thanks for the follow up! Will definitely check that in a couple days...cheers!
I'm just dropping a comment here..I get on UA-cam and watch videos on what people are doing. I work on and build my own engines and vehicles/hotrods. Just wanted to say this video is on of the best I've seen on the subject.
Thanks for watching I appreciate it 🍻
I’ve been sitting here 3 days wondering why I can’t find a wheel hub assembly for my RWD Expedition. It doesn’t have one! Now I know the parts I’m looking for and most importantly , a fine example of how to get the job done . I just got the 5.4 truck with 100xxx miles on the dash and 200 miles on the fresh transmission. Now she’ll be back on the road and ready for work. Thanks a million!
Glad to help , thanks for watching 🍻
I am officially impressed - this is one of the best, most detailed how-to vids for the F-150 ever. Thank you!!
Agent 86 Maxwell Smart thank you i appreciate it! Cheers
Hi. I wanted to follow suit (8/10/24). My nephew came over w/ his '01 F-150, and the LF wheel had LITERALLY no brake pads!! I have absolutely no idea how he was even driving/stopping that thing. I found this video, and i really appreciate the way you lead me to the finish line. I'd never done this before. He's safe now. Thank you so much.
Thank you for this video. Had no problems fixing my truck after watching it. Your video should be the standard on how to make an instructional video.
Thank you 🍻
thank you! that was perfect. no wasted time with commentary - direct and to the point
Thanks for watching 🍻
This is the kind of dude you want to buy a used car from…he knows how to take care of his whip. I’ve been doing brakes for years..apparently, I take a lot of short cuts.
Thanks guy. Saved my ass with the torque specs. forgot the chiltons 30 miles away at home and tore apart the bearing. wasn't about to ruin my new parts by risking the trip either.
Sweet, those specs came from the Haynes book, if specs are fallowed and the rotor doesn’t feel loose or have end play after , should be good to go! Thanks for watching! Cheers
Have a 2008 Expedition, watched this to get re educated before i started just to refresh my mind. Good video
Thanks for watching 🍻
I've used UA-cam videos for several vehicles for several years. This is the best auto repair vehicle that I've seen. Great job
Very cool, thanks for watching! I appreciate it!
Best video for this. My son and I just finished mine. We referenced this video several times.
This is the best how to video I have ever seen on UA-cam on any subject!
Thank you I appreciate it 🍻
You saved my bacon today. All the other yohtube videos showed a different brake setup. Thanks for your effort!
Thank you 🍻
I'm very impressed, Video is so detailed with step by step instructions, The way he goes about this process eases my concerns that YES I can totally complete this job!! Thanks for the crash course on this.
Thanks for watching
Best thorough cut the BS video out there for the f150 2wd brake job. Great vid man!!
Thank you 🍻
The guy at auto zone told me that I had everything and I still hear scratching. Come to find out my rotor was wobbling down the road because he didn’t give or mention anything about a back wheel bearing so now brand new breaks and rotors on 2 front wheels are completely done for after a couple days of driving. Thank you for the detailed video will do every step this time.
Oh man well when you get it going , after the main nut is torqued, just make sure there is no play side to side in the rotors before you put the brakes back on. 🍻
Thank you for this video, my truck needs this job done and had a mechanic take a look and the price was super high. Unfortunately don’t have the money to have the expert do it but feel so confident now after watching your video and I will do it myself. Thank you
Thanks for watching I appreciate it 🍻
Best Video ever about F-150
Thank You for sharing your knowledge.
My F150 is 2003 with 215,000 miles and still running great.
💪🏼💪🏼 thanks for watching 🍻
One of the best detailed videos I’ve ever seen.
Thanks 🍻
Thank you. All done. Perfect with your help. Saved $165 towards new evil gun.
Thats awesome, thanks for watching 🍻
Best I’ve seen and you do everything the “easy” way.
Thank you for watching, I appreciate it! 🍻
Best tutorial I've ever seen! God Bless you for making videos like this. It's material like this that gives people hope and the confidence to step outside their comfort zone and try a new challenge! Thanks again ❤
Thanks for watching I appreciate it 🍻
Not how I learned to pack a Wheel bearing. The way he showed seems to work but I was taught to scrape the bearing in the palm of my hand in the grease and force it into the bearings. You also do what he does. There is also a bearing grease gun attachment.
Good job! I think this is only one of two videos on you tube showing the front 2wd drive bearing replacements. This one is alot more thorough!
Thanks for watching
Excellent instructions, just finished doing this and everything in this video was spot on. Made me feel like I knew what I was doing. Thank you!!
Thanks for watching I appreciate it
Wow! I really do appreciate you taking the time to do an excellent tutorial of replacing the from brakes pads and rotors.... I am doing this job on my sisters truck and I was hoping it was 4X4 cause it’s a bit easier .... you just take off the caliper bracket to get the rotor off the hub stays on!!! Lol.... not doing a wheel bearing replacement😳!! But it’s kool .... I’m a Chinook Mechanic and it brought back the old days of doing wheel bearings grease jobs on them after water landing when we extract and retrieve Special Ops guys!! Again thanks a lot of your excellent video man!! Take Care!! 😊
DaMon Edwards Thank you for your service.
I've seen 1 or 2 fake it till you make it DIY instructionals that halfass information but this is nice, detailed, accurate and well done. Great content dude. Keep making repairs great .
The Backwoods Mechanic boom 💥 thanks buddy, I appreciate it! I subbed to you!! Sub back👍🏼🤙
+++++++ i literally do not get it how anybody could give this guy a thumbs-down! this is the best video I have watched very detailed oriented and very explanatory and he does it cleanly too!:)
Thanks for the video bro right on...
Thanks for watching and the kind words 🍻
Long time diesel/industrial/jeep mechanic here, and I don't need this video, but I approve of it! Lol
I am walking someone through this on the other side of the country, and I needed a good video to walk them through it, and this is perfect, well explained, and very simple to understand.
The only thing I would do differently is adding grease on the inner seal land on the spindle (you added it to the seal itself which is just about as good, but I do both so it has complete protection, rust protection as well), and I save the brake clean on the rotor step until it's installed, to get my greasy fingerprints off it lol
I would also remove the caliper prior to taking the bracket bolts out, to avoid a dynamic removal of the bracket as seen in the video ;)
But that said, if you do this EXACTLY as you show, it works!
Thank you.
Thanks I really appreciate it! I change up how I do things all the time, definitely brake clean on the rotors at the end, and I was hoping to pull everything apart at the same time which it just didn’t happen the way I wanted to film it! I think they just fell out of my hands, I do always do pull the piston caliper before the support bracket first! Also I did finally spend the money on a nice bearing packer, definitely beats manual hand packing, some things I would do differently if I Re do this video, thanks for watching! Cheers!
Excellent video! One of the most detailed, step by step, tutorials I've seen.
💥 nice, thank you for watching
Great video, thank you so much!!! Following this step by step!
I think you should consider becoming a surgeon. I'm serious. You are way more methodical than to just be an auto mechanic. Thanks, great video.
Thanks for watching I appreciate it 🍻
Thanks for showing. Especially the attention to detail. Had to get re-familiar on this. Since I’ll be doing this soon. Great work.
Thanks for watching I appreciate it!
Your voice made me feel compelled to buy a torque wrench.
It sounds weird I know but i should be getting my torque wrench on monday and then I'll give this a try. Wish me luck!
I also believe you gave the most detailed explanation on how to do something than any other video I've ever seen. Thank you
eddie947 nice , I appreciate it !! Cheers
Really great, detailed, and thorough video. Thanks.
Exactly what I needed to see. Did exactly what you did step for step and worked out great. Thanks for the knowledge
Awesome, thanks for watching
Thank you. Seems like all the other videos are for 4WD. Nice job. U helped me.
Thanks for watching!
I have to admit I watched about a half a dozen videos before I found this one. I'm so glad I found it man thank you very much. 😁✌️ I saw one where a guy was standing on his breaker bar to set the bearings!!
Thanks for watching 🍻
@@ATEMOFFROAD no thank you. I had a hard time setting the bearings, your advice made it simple for me to get it done right the first time. I had to buy another set of seals after watching other videos so you sort of saved my butt. 😁✌️
Awesome video highly recommend a bearing packer the hand way is how I did mine last time and was humming 15,000 miles later.
I have one . But most people don’t , definitely a good investment! Thanks for watching 🍻
My man is like the Bob Ross of mechanics
Haha that’s a good one, thanks for watching buddy 🍻
Great video, I like how you laid out the tools and parts in the beginning.
Thanks for watching 🍻

Thank you. Detailed, yet concise. Perfect.
Nice, I appreciate it!
Much appreciated the video - great procedure, torque values included. Everything proper.
Zoltan Bako glad I could help , I never thought this video would take of like it did, thanks for watching
Best video! Not sure if I'm going to do this myself now that I see all the extra work the front captured rotors require.
Thanks for watching
Thanks for the vid man, saved my bacon a little today. Rock on.
Scotty J 💥 nice , thanks for watching, cheers!
Very detailed only concern would be that he reused the cotter pin
Still going strong 💪🏼 50k on brakes no problems 🍻
Just want to say great job thank you for taking your time and being very detailed on every part of your video. Appreciate you. You have a new follower. Thumbs up buddy. Keep up good work.

🙏🙇🙏Many thanks...This process is the same and also very necessary for a 98 Expedition..Something i found out the hard way!🤦
Glad you found it useful, thanks for watching
Perfectly explained. Great video
Excellent DIY video, a lot of details, good explanations step by step, thank you very much!!!!!
Best video ever hands down. Thanks so much for the video. Fixing your vehicle should never be complicated if doesn't have to be. Love that I was easily able to follow along.
Thanks for watching I appreciate it 🍻
7:13 using the wrong hand packing technique lol but good work! Also if your truck is about 17 years old at this point I also suggest replacing the power booster and brake master cylinder.
That’s true and Good advice, I’ve since purchased a manual bearing packer (tub full of grease) ! And The palm packing technique is the one I think your talking about! Thanks for watching cheers !
Nice job. Great instructions.
Thank you 🍻
This was amazing forst time doing both assembly now I'll know for ever thanks 😊
That spindle will need to be replaced since it has cracks I learned the hard way
I mentioned to check for all that in this video, thanks for watching 🍻
Thanks brother ... Got me threw the job in a pinch... 👏
Thanks for watching I appreciate it 🍻
Alternative lifestyle pliers.
You saved my ass bro, thanks for the PERFECT video!
Thanks for watching 🍻
Gracias por compartir el video excelente! De mucha ayuda 🖐 saludos desde 🇱🇷 USA
Awesome video. My only critique is to not put any kind of anti seize on the studs or lug nuts
Incredible video it was very very helpful for the job I had to do.
Thanks for watching buddy 🍻
A dab'll not do you 😄😄 that's funny. Thanks for the video.. I actually learned something and I love that

Excellent tutorial, well thought out, along with exceptional teaching principles. Thanks for your time that you invested in this video, as these instructional videos truly do help.
Now to put your lesson into action, as I will be replacing same exact components. 👍👏
Thank you for watching
Great job! Very detailed! Seat is one of your favorite words haha
Thanks for watching
I already miss my chevy lmao. Holy shit ford!
Thanks for sharing the video. Greetings from 🇧🇿
Nice, thanks for watching
Great video. Short and to the point. The only thing I would say, is please don't re-use those cotter pins. They cost like a nickel.
Thank you for watching
This is a good idea as when I pulled my cotter pin back straight it broke (probably from it being used repeatedly) and had to order an Uber to go buy a pack of cotter pins from advanced auto because my truck was taken apart. Thanks for the video, was a great help.
Good job! I would do a brake fluid bleeding after all the steps. My 2 cents
Definitely a good idea, we saved that for another video! Cheers
Absolutely outstanding video. Thank you.
Thanks for watching 🍻
Amazing great step by step all the way keep it up
Rod Eslava nice , thanks for watching

EXCELLENT JOB, THANKS
thanks dude
Thank you 🍻
I've done the wheel bearings on my 2002 2wd F150 the same way a couple of times. No problems. However, I recently read that a proper wheel bearing replacement should always press the races out so that both the rollers and races are new and matched. Are these hubs designed differently, or would.a professional shop press out the races as well?
Oh...I see. You used new rotors with new races already installed. Gotcha.
