The downside to the Xmaxx is the size. It’s also what makes it great. You have to have room to run it, store it and transport it. If you have the money and space - get the Xmaxx, if not, get the Maxx you won’t be let down. It’s a truly great RC.
Value wise; the Maxx get's you Traxxas' new modular chassis design with integrated shock towers, huuuge shocks, the optional telemetry, auto-right, body latch system, battery tray system, suuper beefy drive train, and extreme durability. It basically buys all the new Traxxas perks and get's into the "big boy" RC on a budget.
The only thing stopping me pulling the trigger on the x-Maxx is that it’s been out for so long I’m expecting it to be replaced soon by a new version/model
I love your intros calling out the negative Nancy’s out there. This should be a place for positivity and building love for the same hobby together. Some people just waste energy on being haters. Keep it up Matt!
I got a Maxx a year ago for my son and he’s bashed the hell out of it and we’ve only broken one arm and the body is almost dead. I got my XMaxx 3 months ago and I’ve really beaten it up and it’s a beast. Once I put the trenchers on it, I broke a lot but most the time it’s my fault. 😂
I bought Xmaxx but I will buy Maxx too. If you need to choose one and size not a problem. I go Xmaxx. But price difference not seem to big when you count in a widemaxx kit and steel driveshafts and aluminum C-hubs for Maxx. While Xmaxx only need RPM rear hubs and go bash.
I agree dude, if size and price isn't an issue, go with the xmaxx. Personally I haven't had to fit the steel shafts or c-hubs, but the widemaxx was 100% a need 😀
X-maxx does not like the cold! So many trips to the hobby shop learning what spare parts to keep on hand for the X-maxx! Granted it's my first rc but this learning curve is exhausting! I recommend getting spare pins, screws, upgraded plastic a arms, steering blocks, and hub carriers with bigger bearings right off the bat. And those little plastic screw caps on the hub carriers..... what a pain when you lose those. But it certainly does rip! So much fun. Cheers from Calgary Alberta, Canada.
I have both as well.... both have hobbywing combos....maxx with 2200kv max8 and xmaxx 800kv max 5...they are the best rc trucks/basher on the market....period!!!!!!!
Except the Big Rock is a lot less money and just as tough as the Maxx. And goes just as fast on less expensive batteries. Plus they put those special Traxxas connectors on so now you need to buy different batteries or void your warranty if you cut them off. 🤦♂️😂 I'm not against any brands as I have lots of Traxxas cars...just speaking the truth.
For myself, stepping up from 1/10th 2wd buggies and stadium trucks, the maxx is big. X maxxs are gigantic. Not saying that the x maxx wouldnt be easy to live with, but my maxx was 'only' $700 and the best price i could find for an x maxx was 1500. Plus running a single 4s means less battery investment. 48mph is what my stock maxx tops out at. I noticed you still have the snapped lower suspension arm on the maxx. Ive already snapped one on mine..... but theyre cheap and sleazy to fix.
