I'm super excited for this show, I think it's gonna be the next Adventure Time for CN, as a flagship series or something, and the animation is super fluid and colorful, I love it.

In my opinion yes, it is just nice to see something within my interests that seems to be the only good cartoon on the channel besides Craig of the creek and the amazing world of gumball.
I feel the series as a mix of adventure time, anime, and star vs the force of evil, that’s what it feels like for me, and I love it

Based on how the episodes are structured, each character gets their own centric episode. 2 per character, personally I want the show to focus on their characters rather than jumping onto a plot that spans a season.
This is one of those shows where a season-spanning arc is doing a disservice to what it’s been given. Having the characters do their own thing and actually bouncing off one another is way more intriguing. And gives the children who watch the show something to latch on to.
We sure got some good cartooons. Mao Mao, Amphibia and the one I didn't follow as much, Infinity Train.
I fell in love with this show I even made art of it I haven't posted them though yet I'm so hyped I just saw the first episode and I'm in love with it

TBH I'm okay with Mao Mao being a show like Gumball, We Bare Bears or Regular Show where not that much plot happens, but relationships develop. We've been missing genuine action comedies a lot, especially since those shows have ended. I'd be less happy if it was one of those plots about happy-go-lucky, fun-loving characters eventually knowing dark truths about themselves, especially since they made an entire episode making fun of that character archetype.
Yeah.... Like adventure time and steven universe. Very good show but sometimes not for younger kids.

mao mao is my favorite modern cartoon. I love episodic shows because if the characters are good??? im ok with watching them inteteract without any plot for 400 episodes.

I realized that this show actually reminds me a lot of Ying Yang Yo given its approach to action comedy. My sister recommended it to me and I love it. It genuinely makes me feel like I'm back in the 2000s

The character Mao Mao reminds a bit of Darkwing Duck, in a good way. The show also has a similar mix of cartoon comedy and action, which is right up my alley. Voice acting is solid, with my favourite voice being Mao Mao's, and my least favourite being Adorabat's (her voice can get a bit annoying sometimes, but it does not cross the line of insufferable) Also lovely character designs and animation. The style has obvious anime inspirations, but those elements are blended quite well with the Western aesthetic.
To draw some quick comparisons to another Cartoon Network show, OK KO, I couldn't honestly watch that show at all because I found the art style to be quite hideous. The animation was overall not that impressive either for an action show based on first impressions. Mao Mao luckily does not fall into the same pitfalls, and I hope it does quite well. After watching 10 episodes I had a genuinely good time with it, with some big laugh out loud moments.

They do have a conistent world, it's fairly common to pickup on things from previous episodes or foreshadow future ones too
They just don't have the characters give it that much attention, so if you look for it you have the world to learn, but don't expect much more than that
The animation department is just top tier, i generally don't like anime, but i love how they implemented certain tropes, like the mouth becoming giant when laughing or the small dialogue bubbles for off-screen characters

This show is the next adventure time no comparing just carrying its legacy
3 weeks into the show and honestly I feel like there is little hints of character development as a story continues was a certain bit of continuity. Mainly that it's been introducing little bits and then filling in later. Like if you watch the early episodes we see characters like the unhappy puppy character he's found throughout the first few episodes and then finally he gets a chance to shine. Our main character also seems to get progressively nicer or two Badger klopp says the show goes on as well as Adora bat continues to be more educated about who her Idol actually is. Honestly I compare this more to like Samurai Jack crossed with Powerpuff Girls.
my biggest positive is Adorabat is freaking cute and she is the main reason why I like this show

It’s been a year and I can confidently say “Yes.” I think that there have been hints of overarching plots and themes and it will keep improving. The team really feel devoted to the show.
I hope this show ends up good, I really like the look of it. It'd suck if we got another cartoon network flop.

This show is something that I could watch
When I look at this show, I see a mix of He-man & Thundercat character design and aesthetic with the cute fluff of The Smurfs. It that weird blend of the 80s and 90s.

This was a great video, and I really enjoyed your take on the show! I had similar feelings about it when I checked it out to review it myself. There's just too little set up for me to really enjoy it, and while there is _potential_ for this show to go somewhere, the show as it is currently did not attract me with that nebulous promise of "potentially something more interesting will happen later after so many episodes". It's a problem I've also seen in other Cartoon Network shows like _Craig of the Creek_ and _OK KO_, which makes me wonder how CN is doing and where they're going creatively. A bunch of hollow cartoons with uncertain "potential" does not make a good or appealing lineup. I guess most everything rests on _Infinity Train_ now, and how that show does might very well implicate the state of the channel's current series.

I liked this show at the beginning but it just turned into one of the “friendship solves everything” shows and it just became bad for me

“The Truth Stinks” had Badgerclops LITERALLY making out with a *beignet.*
And “Baost to Show” had Badgerclops wearing a harness. Like a stripper of some sort.
And the first episode (not the pilot, KNOW THE DIFFERENCE.) had a scene where it sounded like Mao Mao said “Badgerclops! Are you ready to blow this s**t?” (He said ship.)

@@adriana944 Adorabat is loud, Mao Mao never seems to learn anything, Badgerclops acts like a b&tch most of the time, and the denizens of the Pure Heart Valley are nagging, pestering and, in one specific case, disgusting. The plot is stuck in one place and the most interesting thing about it has been addressed only three times. The humor, from my point of view, is absent. Maybe I'm taking the show too seriously, but for me it didn't become a source of entertainment I hoped it would when I started watching it. So I disagree with certain things that have been said in the video, and would not give the show so much praise.
