This was the Eurovision winner for me this year. His live performance in the finale blew my bloody socks off, it was so raw and powerful.

As a french person I don't think we'll win the ESC but Slimane is definetly one of the best if not THE BEST VOCALIST of the competition !! So proud of him

I am not French and I agree with you. His performance left me speechless. Goosebumps and tears. I speak and understand enough French that I understood the song but without it my husband felt the pain of the song through the performance. So beautiful. He is now one of my favorite artists. Amazing!
Objectivement, il n'y a aucun autre candidat qui lui arrivait à la cheville vocalement parlant. Ça ne veut pas dire qu'il n'y avait pas d'autres belles voix, mais perso il n'y a que lui qui m'a transmis qqch.

Slimane is m'y favourite singer. He bas an extraordinary voice full of émotion. I'm from Portugal and this year, next October I'm going to France to listen to o him in a concert. It is the second time I'm doing thhis. Besides I'm 69 years old. . He is appreciated by young people and older people.

Completely entrancing, his voice is superb. My favorite of the year and I don't expect it to change any time soon. Every time I hear it I love it more.

He won The Voice France 2016, robbing french hearts from the blind audition onwards.
He has released 4 albums since then and all reached #1 in french charts.
All his concerts (huge tour ongoing) are sold out almost immediately.
He is also an impressive songwriter for himself or the other greats of the french music scene (Amel Bent, Kendji, Florent Pagny, Matt Pokora, …).
Up to Lara Fabian (you reacted to her, remember her cover of Je suis Malade?) who just released today the music video of "Ta Peine", a song she co-composed and co-wrote with Slimane.

That man's voice is a jewel. Everything is so well placed, the lyrics are beautiful and the whiny moments in his singing are placed in parts of the lyrics that are supposed to be painful and whiny.
He's actually pretty well known in french speaking countries and we're so damn proud of him.

On the beginning and when he says intimate things he's kind of whispering but he makes it with head voice and very gently and then for the chorus he very high in tone but with his throt voice.
It's very interesting and very original. Anybody need to work hard to do this but i think he's got natural skills for it.
There even some moments that i cannot really know if it's head or throt voice, may be in between.

I will vote for this song because it is the best in my opinion. But I have difficulties with his image - to me, he seems like a great lover who falls passionately in love with someone every other month. Maybe because he sings and looks so emotional, that's why he seems unloyal in a relationship. 12 points !!
