  • The BEST Napa Valley Winery I’ve EVER seen! Castello di Amorosa Tour and Review | Napa Valley, CA. Castello di Amorosa NAPA VALLEY WINERY Tour and Review | Napa Valley, CA Wine Capital of the World. Today we're in beautiful Napa Valley California doing a walking tour of Castello di Amorosa - a Castle winery in Napa Valley! Castello di Amorosa is the only authentic medieval (13th-century) Italian Tuscan castle and winery built in America. They officially lowered their drawbridge for business in April 2007. Castello di Amorosa is nestled in the western hills on 171 acres just minutes south of The Napa Valley town of Calistoga. After several decades of personal adventure visiting and studying medieval castles and wineries throughout Italy and Europe, Dario Sattui, a successful 4th-generation Italian winemaker and entrepreneur, began building Castello di Amorosa in 1994. Over the course of this marathon project, the Castello has evolved to include over 136,000 square feet, including 107 rooms (90 of which are devoted to winemaking and wine storage); an enormous Great Hall with 2-story replica Tuscan frescoes painted by Italian artists and a 500-year old fireplace; 8,000 tons of hand-chiseled stones; 8 levels (4 above ground and 4 below); a drawbridge, dungeon and torture chamber; medieval church; and arguably the single most impressive wine barrel room in the U.S., with ancient Roman cross-vaulted ceilings.

WOW, Mr. Sattui's absolute dedication to authenticity, when possible, and amazing details, are beyond belief. If I ever return to gorgeous, scenic Napa Valley, I must take this tour. Fortunately, I don't have to be a lover of wine, to appreciate the "perfection" created. Thank you so much, Nick. This tour was delightful. (That's a shame about the fire...)🍷 🥂 👏👏👏🍇🫒

Thanks so much Rhonda! This was my favorite tour of our trip. The fire was very sad but the situation looks to be getting better. Thanks for watching 😄🍷🍷

My wife and I did Napa for our honeymoon. While there we met another couple that wanted to do a wife swap! We didn’t do it but I kinda wanted to. 😂 Take care!

Glad u enjoyed the castle. Its a fun place to explore for sure. Dungeon & great hall are a trip and heard theres a secret passageway. You have pay 💰 just to get in, back in the day you just drive up go in the backdoor where the animals are.
For locals and wine enthusiasts its a rookie move, overpriced sweet wines, loud, crowded like disneyland of napa valley. Usually theres tour buses out front the staff are tired overworked worn out. This year has been slower than most so its not as loud/crowded as usual.
When you’re ready napa valley has way more gems , hidden spots, over 500 vineyards to discover. Cheers

We did the guided tour. I think there is a self guided tour as well, but we went for the guided in a group. This was my favorite winery in Napa 😎✌️

You have been duped. The widows are much to wide and have glass. In castles to that period, the windows would have loop holes with no glass. The siege engine would have been a ballista and not a catapult. You are a mouthpiece for pure fiction.
