So I copy and pasted this that I wrote on yalls 2nd video of the container house build... I just thought yall might have a better chance at seeing and reading this if I posted it here. So here ya go...lol. Also, I've left 4-5 messages on different vids...I just found your channel today 4/21/22, I wanted to say that what an impressive lady you have. I meant to say something on last messages but forgot but when I just saw her with the welding mask on, I was like NOWAY!. so I'm a decently skilled carpenter but I have built pools, pretty good with electrical, I have had many hats. Currently I do remodels and mostly stick to trim/finish carpentry right now... however 1 thing that I have never done even once, tho I highly want to, is welding of any sorts.... I know it is hard to be like an awesome expert welder.... but I am pretty good ay learning new things and am very meticulous and precise in what I have delved into. So one day when it finally happens and I either take a class or just have someone show me the ropes, I am very confident that I would be able to weld the basics in a fairly short amount of time.... ANYWAYS!!!!! point being.... she atleast has """1""' up on me....lol..mm so awesome... it seems, through watching like 10 of yalls vids so far, that she can pretty much do it all... infact I think she has 3 up on me because I saw her doing the vinly decals and stuff on yalls truck camper build and that turned out awesome.... to me it just seems like getting those decals on "PRECISELY " would be very tedious...
I love how you guys show the positives of ikea kitchens. Usually it's how the drawers ard a pain to put in etc. After 7.5 years I still absolutely love our ikea kitchen. The funky layout looks great!!
Ditto, people underestimate Ikea kitchens - they have tons of different units, are solid and movable. Also, lots of other companies make upgraded fronts you can use for future upgrades - yea for standardization! And, yeah, the legs are a pain and can't take any sort of side load - you have to be really careful moving & tiling things, but the skirting board mounting is genius.
What is on the other side of the wall behind the fridge? If it's nothing real important, you could cut out the wall, recess the fridge and box in the back side of the fridge.
that bear made an odd noise I'm not familiar with. Thank you for sharing your story with me and allowing me to enjoy your journey. much love from the east coast US
With everything that you have on the trailer you’ll have to put the slab in below and more likely be building out from the kitchen and living room area over the camper parking area not quite over possibly the camper and guesstimating it looks like to be able to still park it in side in the possibility make that addition your master bedroom and use the present bedroom as spare and office area. Keep it going looking good for a pleasant young couple, just get the road repaired
Great DIY video, by moving the: Unvented , LP fired ,Water Vapor ,Carbon Monoxide , Carbon Dioxide and Particulate Mater Generating, Pollution Event, Cooking Appliance ,to the outside wall, will make it easier to Vent with a 240 cfm. Range Hood. :)
I use cabinets by a company called "muses cabinets". Plywood boxes, solid wood doors, dovetailed wood drawers, soft close hinges and glides. They do have to be assembled but comparable pricing to ikea.
For only Two, the dishwasher is not mandatory, it needs some clean water, electricity and for heated and relatively small place like yours, you may find out some moisture very quickly. But i spot something you may need to watch over it: the fridge have no room to "breath". Plus you have an heated space, if you to keep it for 10 years or more, you need to add a ventilation system. On both side of the fridge "box" would be ideal ! Love your video, great kitchen plan and great work !
You need to vent air into the back of the fridge, otherwise it will run a lot more than it needs to. A vent in the side panel at the bottom would work. Great job on building your home. Cheers
Use a cabinet makers hammer. I'd send you one, but don't know how. They are smaller hammers balanced a bit differently than a finish hammer. With everything the way it is, not even sure I can get one. That way of opening the box is bad if it's the wrong part. I've assembled lots of IKEA stuff, and one thing I discovered is to read ALL of the instructions first. Sometimes they put stuff in the back that should have been first, which requires completely dismantling the cabinet to install. I hate the plastic legs, so I make my own.
Just found your 'UA-cam' page and tuned in... Glad I did... Your video, premiering Apr 17 was the first I've seen involving IKEA products... Was always ignorant, and therefore skeptical of the product. I suppose it's sold somewhere here in Texas, but I have never seen it... LOL Have just finished my second move after selling 'the old farm' in 2017 and wish I had invested heavier in lighter furniture... Heck, a 960 sq ft, 2 BR apt barely has walking space after filling it with "priceless pieces" of Taiwan's best furniture... (vintage '73) It was all heavy wood then, and the military seemed happy to ship it to your next assignment... There was barely room in the "ol retirement farmhouse" but somehow we lived with it all for 37 years... Now, in my final living space, there's no room for my "big-ass TV" and the dining table too... LOL How about a gigantic yard sale? Who cares... -pp
Thanks for watching Paul! We were also very skeptical of IKEA kitchens. But after living in our container house with one for a year we are huge fans! Isn't it funny how even tiny spaces can feel huge until we start adding furniture?
Hey, if you guys would like more room in your loft, why don't you cut out the wall that is over the shop area and build a cantilever platform for the refrigerator? Do you really need the fridge eating up so much room when it could, instead, hang over the shop area? Just a thought...... :)
The filter housing on the duramax is known for having o rings that dry out and crack allowing the fuel system to lose prime. I'd bet that's your problem.
I live in Davenport, IA last night I attended a CORN MAZE I felt as tho I was being STALKED, I was really quite eerie you have just been iowa dad joked
You have inspired me! I had no idea that Ikea had cabinets and drawers, but it makes sense now that I see it. Once again you have demonstrated your flexibility and can-do spirit can overcome frustrated plans. The extra countertop space, while taking valuable floor real estate, will make life so much easier. After all, a good functional bathroom and a well designed kitchen makes all the difference in the world to a living space you can enjoy.
Yer frorkin awesome lady!!!! Shout out feom CaNadaaaa, glad you 2 are having a blast, just stumbled onto tour channel & you two crack me up! My Ivan passed a few years ago & watching tou 2 reminds me of the good times we both had doing practical things to grow our homestead. Keep up the good work & humour cuz I love every nitty gritty step because its actually true to the building process. LOVE LOVE LOVE🇨🇦😁
you can definitely take the ikea cabinets apart and put them back together again. we bought a bunch when we lived in germany, but they are about 4x more expensive here, and hard to get, as they said
Things I did not like about IKEA (made whole kitchen as well) - too short legs (bought alternative to get countertop height at 93cm), limited selection of countertops and door materials. Then some of the mesh drawers and hardware bought also elsewhere. But you can easily take all apart and reassemble IKEA, did that when we sold and moved out of apartment. But yes the thing that is most problematic - the rear nails, if you need to remove them ... well it is better not to ... And Ikea rails are great, could do evrything alone.
You know almost plug boxes they've got a plastic insert goes in and you can put your bring your plugs out and it'll be inside your cabinets so you don't have to have that hole showing around the edge
Hey GUYS! I have put a lot of IKEA Furniture together over the yrs for work & friends. The main issue I've had, was to use Trim cabinet screws to reinforce certain areas. Had to put wood stiffeners to keep things from sagging, so take a carefully look at design & its weaknesses when it comes to load. TWO Stories... My Neice has a high dresser; I had to replace the bottoms on all the drawers that were cardboard with thin plywood. I had to tighten the whole structure with trim screws, had to pre-drill everything. None of her twist locks would stay lock onto the studs, it drove me nuts! Even the fronts I had to fix with trim cabinet screws. PART TWO, had a customer we put there whole kitchen together, very similar to yours with the rail system, that was great. But were the sink install, we had to put some strong stiffeners in how it was designed so it wouldn't sag. Where the drawers were, we had to modify them & added support on the side rails. GOOD LOCK GUY'S!
I don't know what I'm more impressed by, how goddamn handy you two are or how well you get on while doing all this..my wife and I would be killing one another!!!
when you cut the holes for the outlets inside the cabinets you should have cut them to fit the box and then the plug could have been flush with the inside of the cabinet and the cover plates could be installed last and cover the hole...
Definitely get the dishwasher. It's a massive quality of life improvement and they're one of the cheaper appliances you can buy. It will save water over handwashing (like 3-4x less usage). Make sure you buy detergent that's greywater/septic safe. I use nature clean but there's lots of other products out there that work.
Just watching Riley riding in the woods on the quad, and was thinking are you actually prepared for a bear or a big cat attack? seriously wondered this a few times watching your videos.
After y’all are finished and have been settled in for a while, you’ll look back on these days in amazement “Where did we get all the energy to do all that work”!?! Great job 😊❤️‼️
Can you believe it guys...?!?! It's like Wow... We're putting our kitchen together and how exciting it that...!!!! So awesome guys!!! The look on your faces and Your smiles says it all...!!! I love the "Trash Chute"...!!!! Too Funny... Watching you guys putting your kitchen together brings back memories of when we did ours and is Verry nice...! Great Job guys...! Thanks for sharing and Happy Easter...!!!
Careful burning close to the large healthy trees, their roots can catch fire and smolder for days until the actual tree catches. Make a burn hole, layer gravel on the bottom.
Greetings from Colorado. You two are a fun couple to watch. Assembling RTA furniture can be a challenge anytime and making changes on the way makes it even more challenging. And you guys did without the customary yelling at each other, bravo! The redo on the kitchen looks fine. Thank you for taking the time to share your adventures with us.
Your thoughts become your words. Your words become your actions. Your actions become your habits. Your habits become your character. Your character forges your destiny.
W.E. Bodgeit & Son nail it again. Those IKEA boffins strike again. Well done in getting through this tough obstacle course Happy Easter keep it comin...
So glad your back at it on the house. Your kitchen looks to be amazing, you ability to stop and replan is just way above my head. Your main supervisor (Boone) and his assistant (Bailey) kept you guys on track ... 👌
Better you than me, when it comes to putting cabinets together!! But you all are doing a great job. One if your dogs said, don't move my bed...see you on your next video.
We are so excited to be back building our home! You can watch the entire build series here! ⬇️

Just watched drive army truck 4 states. Left tidbits. Igloo AC.
Particle board bad choice
I'd suggest closing that little gap above the cabinet over the fridge. Otherwise, it's just going to be a dust-bunny colony. Or, maybe a wine rack?
It will be getting a filler panel once we mount the doors!
I'm watching American idol as I watch you make the kitchen cabinets you win American idol came in 2nd.
Happy Easter 🐣

You two are energy dynamos!
What the heck is powering the fan on the stove???!!!
I miss the "Crazy Carolina" song. lol!
Looking great guys!
Thanks Robert!
Wow you guys that looks great. How exciting!!!!
I heard some one say we do it nice, because we do it twice and that sounds like me too
14:15, sprays bubbly soap on a fitting to check for bubbles. Made me lol.
you could get 5 inches back by insetting the fridge into the wall
The thought crossed our minds! But unfortunately behind is a pocket door.
@@AmbitionStrikes I meant for your original design, but too late now. Looks nice in there

Beautiful Sleeping beauty smiles also 😁😁😁
Furl problems? The fuel filter is the cheapest replacement part to start to diagnose.
yass, bench space is always appreciated

Those burn pile leftovers can be used in your garden.
For about $10 you can buy a rebuild kit for the fuel primer, basically several o rings, super easy to do, but if they go out, your truck will not run
Integrity - Truth in self.
Gratitude- Wanting what you have, not having what you want.
Can it go though the ‘pond’ - it’s a Honda! You got one extra wheel but my three wheeler will manage tit deep water no problem!
The filter housing on the duramax is known for having o rings that dry out and crack allowing the fuel system to lose prime. I'd bet that's your problem.
Riley thinks you're spot on! We had to do the same repair on a previous truck we owned.
Really enjoy your videos
Love the work that you two did.
22 years ago I build my owne kitchen. 😉
Its abalt time to start ower. 🤔
Cheers to bolth of you. 🍺&🍷
Construct your things on the boxes, save the floors from scratches 😉
Hey, I thought that knife wasn't sharp???? LOL. Cabinets looks great. Nice and clean. Well done. Thanks for sharing.

Kitchen redesign looks killer. Can’t believe how much you accomplished in one day. Great video.
Must be more than a day. Also the changes about the sides to the fridge would have taken a good amount of time.
Joli travail IKEA est formidable et vous 2 aussi! 🥂🥂

Doing it two times is usually the way it happens for me so the first time is practice.
🇳🇱luckily I have a normal kitchen success with your kitchen.👍👍👍👍👍🍀
Thank you again.
Reckless you need a new fuel filter housing they leak air the o rings are shit. just fixed one on Friday. Easy fix.
There are some months where you can see all 12 North idaho seasons! 🤣
You need to check your pond area for beavers messing with water levels
great job guys
You know enclosing that deck you all want would give you more room. Just a thought. Dave
Your videos are enjoyable to watch
Did a full bedroom with IKEA products . It took 4.5 days with all those drawers . Being 75 years old slowed me down a bit . Keep up the good work .
Kitchen looks awesome

Cracking on with it 👏👏👏
Im surprised you guys didn't just cut a hole in the wall and hang the fridge into the Garage. Looks great.

21:27 stupid question: where are the heat transfer coils? Usually they're in the back, and so you need heat to be able to escape.
When I saw the start of the cabinet install, I said to myself.. i think i see a problem coming.. The upper ones should be done first. :-)
The only thing I don't like about the cabinets is the dust area underneath. One more area to clean but no place for mice to hide.
Nice spread you’ve got there .
Builder Courney. Your do a great job.
How to test a relationship assemble ikea stuff together 🤣
Just watching Riley riding in the woods on the quad, and was thinking are you actually prepared for a bear or a big cat attack? seriously wondered this a few times watching your videos.
anytime I assemble these kits. I always use gorilla glue... never have the wobbles....Ps.. keep your hair down, you look awsome !

Courtney, your decision about the drawers war perfect. They will save time every day!
And by the way: fine plan! Especially at that crazy times.

@16:50 ... I can see you puttting her voice in "what are you doing" the safety police.... lol
thanks for the video again AS
you can make your own on a table saw it is called a French Cleet
22:35 .. took me a minute to get back off the floor LOL.. 🤣🤣🤣 that word salad of warnings .. 🤜💥🤛
I missed something about moving the refrig just so you can add some counterspace to defeat the reason why you moved the fridge ?
Better you than me, when it comes to putting cabinets together!! But you all are doing a great job. One if your dogs said, don't move my bed...see you on your next video.
