I wonder if those chords have different structures that require less distance , so you can work around it

This is really the first song that I have attempted to learn that contains 7 chords outside of open position. It has been fun but makes me feel like I just started. My hand gets a serious workout that I haven't felt in awhile.
if anyone's getting discouraged because they can't fret this, dont give up!! i have super small hands and at first this song seemed unplayable. now through lots of practice and just playing other songs i can kinda bust out these chords. the amaj7 is still a pinkie killer but we get it done.
