Just came across your instructional video. Very well done. I have been playing for quite a number of years, and for those just beginning your explanations are simple and to the point without assumptions. That is to say, you don't presume and or assume that the student "should already know these things." Again, well done and immensely instructional. A good teacher can simplify the complex.

I'm late on this thread, but thx a million Brother Eric....I put my down my bass after 3-yrs because I was tired and bored of all the songs and some exercises in books. I learned a lot but still could not put together a consistent riff to grow with. --picked up the bass 2-nights ago on a whim, came across this video and it 's refreshing, instructional & musical. Very nice instruction. Best i have seen. You exaggerate hand left hand movement and show exactly which finger you are using on which fret. i used to play bass in a showband, so i don't consider myself a beginner. but oftentimes i watch these kinds of videos to get some more tips. bec. back when i was starting to play bass (mid 90's), internet then was an unreachable star. :-)

i used to play bass in a showband, so i don't consider myself a beginner. but oftentimes i watch these kinds of videos to get some more tips. bec. back when i was starting to play bass (mid 90's), internet then was an unreachable star. :-)
