This is a type of fishing (along with the heavily populated striper fishing on the canal) that I just can’t do, man. Fishing for these hapless brook trout that have been placed into still water specifically to be caught by some dude who’s holding his spinning rod upside down (fighting gravity the entire time…which has always been confusing to me)…it just doesn’t feel like *fishing* to me. If they stock a small stream where the fish might have a chance to adapt and become part of the system, I’m up for that. It’s just the kettle ponds, man. This anecdote sums up my feelings for still water trout: They stock my favorite bass lake with trout and I once saw this dude fishing a spinner underneath a bobber. I know everyone starts somewhere…and I’m NOT saying I’m “better” than that guy or whatever. But that whole scene was just perfectly emblematic of stocked still water to me.

I wish they would stock the little rivers and streams that dot the southshore. I just don't enjoy fishing the flat water quite as much.

They do a couple of rivers/ streams in the state but not many.

Chris has a net on his back, then says he didn’t bring one. A few minutes later the net is back. Chopped up footage.
