Tq love u
Thank u tons!! I keep wondering why he doesn't give the option for windows.
Small tip to avoid the long loading times when searching the right parameters for saving the gif:
Right before saving, you can narrow down the working space (right word?! It's "Arbeitsbereich" in german) which can be found in the timeline. There is one slider for the beginning and one for the end of it. When you bring it down to, let's say, 2 frames and then save for web, the loading time between the different parameters will be substantially lower. When you've found the perfect parameters, keep them in mind and extend the the working space back to original length, before you save the gif.
This saved me a lot of time.
A simple but effective tutorial. I used this for a project for school. An important aspect to take note is to avoid having an overlap. For example, if the bubbles were to go over her body, that part of the body that would have been painted over will move. It is best to plan out if the video is able to be played on a loop without an abrupt transition. Thanks Aaron!
This was my first time looking up a tutorial on cinemagraphs, and it was awesome. Thank you so much!
your tutorials are AWESOME!!!!! I love them, they so helpful
and interesting!! Thank you very much!!
this is magical. Thanks!
You actually can view a .gif file on a mac. Click once on the desired file, then press the space bar. A small preview window will pop up, and the .gif file will play in the window
Hey... you show how to create a "loop" effect and that is great!! Is there a way to create a "bounce" effect that goes forward and backwards in a loop?
This seems like a pretty straightforward tutorial. Thanks. I'll be trying it out.
Great Tutorial. Thank you! One question, after I made the layer mask and used command i, I am still able to see an outline of the layer I made to mask out the movements. I'm not sure what I did wrong. Any thoughts?
Awesome tutorial man, thank you.
Thanks for sharing always great stuff Aaron!! really cool tutorial and so easy to do it.
Presumably this would also work in After Effects?
It's great when someone has figured out how to really do it step by step. thanks
Nice tutorial!! How can you change the pace of the bubbles or how quick the gif is moving? Thanks!!
Great tutorial, thank for sharing!
Thanks for the tutorial man, really enjoyed it. Very helpful
wow cool tutorial. thanks for posting Aaron
Love love love it! Thank you so much for sharing xx
upgraded to cc for this but totally worth it! I feel like my clients will love having this for part of their marketing campaigns
Thank you so much for this tutorial. This is the best cinemagraph tutorial out there!
Thanks for the tutorial, really helpful, looked a lot more difficult than it actually is.
great tutorial! But i keep getting an unknown error in the exporting process with the same settings used in the video. any ideas? thanks!
You can try rendering the video. Export it as video. It worked out for me and the quality is superb as compared if you export it as gif.
Little late to the game, but if you're still struggling I suggest dropping the frame rate of the video and then when exporting for web, reduce the image size to something more reasonable (assuming your source footage is 1080p).
Alternatively, render the video, then open that file in photoshop again and export that as a GIF. It should help reduce the initial file size and stop the unknown error.
That is sooooo cool!!
Awesomeness!!! Thank you!
Great work Thanks for giving us a new ideas.
this is an amazing tutorial. there are tons on the net and uTube but your masking technique makes it less tedious to do.
great tutorial
You're awesome. Thanks for making this vid and making it super simple.
Awesome video, thanks a lot!
Thank you so much for this video! Exactly what I needed XD
Great.. I never know this..btw how to begin..do I need a video first and how to import it in photoshop? Tks
omg. THANKS SO MUCH for that
very helpful and great example photo for illustrating the process. Thanks!
Thank you, I just need it!
saw this on my recommended list -- instant flashbacks to rotoscoping hehe -- another fun one :)
Bubble spit!!! hehe - Great video :)
Thanks so much for this - I'm going to give it a whirl!
Great, thanks... big help.
I found this really useful! Thanks a lot! Now I can make my own cinemagraphs :)
Black eyed
I am
So simple yet unique. Thanks.
wow! love it! thank you so much :))
great! thanks!
Is there a way to keyframe the mask, so you don't have to make a general one for the whole video? Great tutorial by the way!
Excellent tutorial
Thanks :)
Does it play faster or can you set the frame speed, or use a another framespeed on the original movie to make it look more realistic in play speed or does it depend on the computer you run your gif on.
Oh my god thank you. I thought it was so much harder than this. On to make tons of these!
Can u use frequency separation on this?
it's great! Thanks!
Thanks dude
Hey =D
Great tutorial.
Followed everything and all was going fine until the saving part. It really scrambled my image and separated all the colours quite badly. I tried all the different setting and can't seem to find out why it's not coming up normal. Any ideas?
Awesome tutorial sir ..
Today I learn new thing cinemograpy. Which is Awesome .I really like this video.
Thank you.
THAT IS AWESOME, I'm upgrading.
i'm gonna try this too, i have been looking for a professional tutorial like this. But the file was huge.
Hi, I don't have the same version of photoshop. I'm using Image ready for my gif. Do you know if it's possible to do a cinemagraph with image ready by using different layers?
Thank you so much!
You're amazing
Say I took a picture of the same scene after I recorded what I wanted, would I be able to bring in That picture I use as the picture I use to mask? Thnx for all your videos. Big help.
Thank you for sharing this tutorial, and I made it by watch this tutorial many times. The only thing that I feel not comfortable is too many shortcut keys I don't know it, and I think it will help a lot if you put text on the video for people who speak English as a second language. Finally, I learned it. Thanks again.
Great video man! but i have a problem here. in the "save for web", i choose original tab (because optimized options made my gif looks pixel-cracked)- selective - diffusion - 100% size - forever. in the window preview on the left it said only 4mb, but when i click save, the result my gif file was became 50mb. Do u hv any idea why it became 50mb? and how to fix that. Thanks man!

I imagine lights need to be consistent as well, don't they?
I was thinking of trying this with studio flash and use the 'flashed' picture as a base picture and create a cinemagraph with the model's hair waving in the wind. However, lights would of course be a lot different in the video as in the base picture.
Is there a way to make this work? Thanks for your help.
thanks man! very interesting. Greetings from Spain
How would you make the bubbles continuous instead of just looping from beginning to end, or is there a way?
very helpful and simple man.. i tNice tutorialnk i'm gonna see all your videos
It looks too fast. How could you slow down the bubbles? Also, if you shot 30 fps, how would you create say 15 fps for the web?
i love this tutorial
This would be a great 'added benefit' to a photo package! Anyone have any other ideas on how to sell a cinemagraphic image?
WOW WOW!!!!!!!!! love
Thank you!!
thank you so much I'm going to use this tutorial in a tennis shot , well done tutorial
Great video. Question, can you make a video on making seamless infinite loop gifs? I can best describe it as when you have an animated gif with a noticeable ending and beginning, but you want to make it seem as if it never ends.
Good tutorial! My Macbook would not export the GIF-image, unknown error. Guess the graphic card can't handle it or I have got not enough memory/disk space or all together. However, I still have my desktop computer with enough power! Make sure your computer is fit for the task, especially when dealing with high-res images.
Thanks!
can you do this on photoshop CC?
How do you get the vid into photoshop? I chose the "convert video to layers" option, which worked, but it's clearly not what you did. Does the vid have to be .MOV format?
I just dragged my video into photoshop and it worked! and it was just a normal mp4 file
You are great!!
Great video...thanx a lot for sharing the tutor, its very helpful to me in working on my project
How do you control the speed of the Cinema Graphic?
Nice Tutorial............ Thank you
Which camera did you use ?
Thanks
I have made several in PS and found it very challenging to get decent quality out of a moderately sized file. I've always been curious how pros are able to make some amazing quality gifs in small sizes. So far, I haven't found it using PS.
how do you open the windows with the radius at 8.54mn in your video, please?
Thank you
nice :)
i have to try it :)
Cool! =) Can you please teach how to make animated banners? I've seen your "mini toy robot" frame animation but I would like to see other examples.
hi, i used a fade with black effect, on the preview instead of fading effect it was blinking same thing as i saved it. can i get a help
hahahaha nice tutorial bro thanks it's awesome, "thanks guys for watching guys"... it happens the same to me sometimes in my videos hahaha
Thanks
how to export in MP-4 HD? we could with photoshop??
This is very cool. I can do this...
just FYI you can preview gifs natively with a mac.
Just have the image selected and push the space bar, this will bring up preview.
Just thought you would like to know :)
great tutorials by the way!
i really dont want to be fussy your videos are great, but that comment is so true!!
I recently did a music video and did some effects using photoshop cs6, playing with the images and all. Could u do a tutorial where I will be standing still in a video singing, but the background changes? is that possible for cs6? :)) thanks!
Can you use the PNG format or just GIF?
Thank you so much!!!
can i use photoshop cs5?
Hey need you !!! I don't manage to copy the layer (shift man cmd ?) (5m35)
Found out about motion months ago but his video still helped me....Aaron keep your beard man... I know this is old but still
Hi for my photoshop cs6 in the timeline it only appears as individual frames? I'm wondering if u could help me? How do I get it to show in the "full length" format as demonstrated in this video? Can I somehow stitch all the frames tgt?
would these work on instagram + facebook and youtube?
