I was just about to place an online order with NewBalance, as I've done ages as a loyal NB customer. Your review answered the questions NB itself couldn't in a chat. Then I saw a note that the tan and green can't be returned. Every NB shoe I wear is an 11 standard, but I've never had to gamble that a pair wouldn't fit. So New Balance expects to put down $200 and hope the shoe fits? Screw off, New Balance. (But thanks for the thorough review -- NB return policy has nothing to do with you.)
Do you have experience with the 993? I’m torn between that and these 990 v3. They are very similar in price, looks, etc. any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, how are these holding up since making this video? Thanks!
i have both 993 and the 990v3... i would just like to say that the build of the 993 is the widest as compared to 990v3, 990v5, 990v6, 991 and 992... i went with my normal TTS US Size as with Nike and Adidas but was easily able to go half size down with the 993
@@Yong_Goh I'm actually now debating between the 990v3 and 990v6. I like the silhouette of the v3 more, but like the comfort/modern midsole of the v6 and the fact it's newer. If you had to pay the same price for both in grey - which one would you pick? Thanks!
@@erictrinh13 tough choice as they are both my fave 990s of all time! I do feel the v6 is the more comfy of the two but that’s not saying the v3 is far behind at all. I guess if my house was on fire and I had to grab only one… my instinct would be the v3… but it’s marginal. For the same money I’d prolly lean v3 as well if it’s in the castlerock grey. You going regular grey or the “version” series of v3 with the extra red tab detailing? The “version” one tends to go for more money
@@Yong_Goh Just the regular general release Grey for both! Such a tough choice when considering looks, comfort and best bang for buck. Imma go crazy if I keep looking at these side-by-side everyday lol. Wish I could keep both tbh.
Anybody else experience a 990 tongue edge pressing down into the foot? I returned a pair of 990's yesterday because I ordered a 1/2 size too large, but the right edge of the right tongue was also pressing down into the top of my foot. I've got skinny feet that are probably a little sensitive to pressure, but I figure this is likely an issue with the specific right shoe I received. I'd like to order the correct size and enjoy the 990's, but if the tongue may be an issue, I'll stick with the Fresh Foam series. Thanks, Oliver. Much appreciated.
The made in USA 990's typically run a bit bigger by a half-size, so your pair may have been way too large for your foot, especially if you have narrow feet. I'd recommend going down half a size! Hopefully this helps you out a bit.
Which one of the 990 series is your favorite?
993
990v3 and 990v6 for me

can never have too many 990v3s
Definitely! I’ll have some more 990v3 reviews coming soon.
I love the 992 and the 990v3.
they're great models! I need to get a pair of 992's myself

990v3 , I love them. But I just think they look so dead on foot. What do I do :/

NB 990 V 3 n V 4 r nuclear!!
heavy agree
Is the toe box wide on these?
The toe box is fairly roomy and breathable!
size D is the standard width i believe and that itself is suited to wide feet i reckon
Why do some 990v3s have the red tag on the side?
There are actually several 990 models with a red tag! These were made as part of the "version series" for the 40th anniversary of the 990 series.
@@OliverJanShD oh right on. Is the tag the only difference? Or is there any others?
@@Dill_doh I think there are some other red hits on the small square NB logos on the shoes. But I think that’s all!
Good for Narrow feet people?
Yes, you can get these in different widths to accommodate narrow to wide feet!
Jesus loves you nice vid very underrated
thanks man, I appreciate the kind words
i stop watching when i see you wear a jean with new balance
Nice 👍
