I think he genuinely likes Michael, though. On some level, at least Michael is the one thing nobody else in a corporate environment it: totally authentic. And he somehow succeeds while being that way. We see later that David kind of wanted to be like that, too. And I think that's a big part of why he liked the guy. He saw what he wanted to be even though he didn't have the courage.
I always thought it was brilliant that they came up with the idea that the Scranton branch, against all odds, was somehow very successful. It is at least some kind of reason why someone like Michael would be allowed to keep his job. It really is a key to the series. My idea is that Michael is so hung up on things other than work and annoying his workers that they focus even MORE on their work to avoid him and try to make up for his time wasting. Add that to the fact that people like Dwight and Jim are actually good salesmen.
I know he has his problems. But Michael is better than those bosses (like charles) who want you to stay till late, not have relationships with employees basically not have a life. At least he wants the workplace to be a family and employees to have a life outside of work. And maybe this positively impacts employees’ mental health and hence their performance.
@@himanshurajdev2412 Like remember Jo asked Michael if he thinks he put in a good day’s work, then he can leave. And Michael said yes. He is definitely better than those bosses who think your job should be your whole life.
To be fair, I don't think it would be great TV if we just see people working, showing us why they are a strong branch. And we did get episodes where we saw the accomplishments.
IMO he's actually a very good manager and salesperson but his personality is offputting most of the time. His eccentricity and quirks just overshadow the fact that he's good at his job.
He would've made a great teacher honestly. Kind, patient, fair, level headed, capable of holding the line and being firm where needed but never letting the power get to his head, even open to unorthodox ways of doing things.
@3:52 Michael's philosophy: "Don't ever, for any reason, do anything to anyone for any reason ever, no matter what, no matter where, or who, or who you are with, or where you are going, or where you've been... ever, for any reason whatsoever.."
Basically, he takes a very "hands off" approach.😂😅❤🎉 He's laissez-faire. He lets his workers just work and do their thing while he quietly supports the ..😂😅❤🎉
He was overly nice to Michael, because somehow the Scranton branch was the only profitable branch and David was unable to figure out why, but didn't wanna break the flow.
But actually he only hired Michael (who is a very good salesman) and Ryan. Maybe Jan, but she was completely normal before she went downward spiral after her divorce. Think of it Ryan was also very normal before being in corporate. Deangelo and Robert California got there after Sabre purchased DM. The only "weirdo" was Dwight at the end of the series.
@@PrmtvStudio Michael was at Dunder Mifflin long before David Wallace. He hired Ryan (who proved to be a fraud who did little more than spout buzzwords) and Charles Miner (who was a completely different person in front of David and was a terrible judge of what people were good at, given that he made Kevin the receptionist and Stanley the "productivity czar"), then was taken in by Robert California's obviously fake "charity," and he put Andy in charge of the Scranton branch and was completely oblivious to his three-month absence.
I love how Michael is happy just listening to david wallace call him a nice guy.. that's enough for him, even though he was not considered for the job..
You remember how Jim didn’t think all his pranks were funny when Michael was going over them one by one in Conflict Resolution? Felt the same here: no idea how David has the level of patience he showed all through the show 😂
So here’s my thing about David. He gives Michael a lot of chances, with the guise that he thinks of him as an equal. David doesn’t take Michael seriously, even though he gives Michael multiple major responsibilities. He never follows through with Michael, he just dangles respect over his head and kinda screws him over. Idk man
I strive to have a fraction of the patience that David Wallace has when dealing with Michael
He has a lot of patience for Michael because he is the reason Dunder Mifflin’s top branch was outperforming every quarter.
Made sense he could cope with the drumming kid lol.
Michael rakes in millions. You better have patience.

The most patient man on television.
dude's a saint! I strive to be so heavenly calm and collected.
Loved when he just ripped into Ryan every chance he got. He’s got patience for incompetence, but not malice.
“I am so impressed with the potential you see in me” LMAO
I am gonna start using it IRL 😂
Michael's genius is showing
Well Jan should’ve “estimated” him 😂
tbh david wallace is a legend for putting up with michael for all those years and not losing it
but he did lose it on the fire guy
Are you sure you're being 100% honest?
He always (as any good boss do) knew Michael was the bees knees.
@shubhambansal7968 the fire guy committed fraud, michael is just a goofy guy but he means no harm (atleast not intentionally 😂)
He did lose it.😂
Not only is David Wallace so fine, but he’s tall and patient 😩🤚
girl, you've read my mind😍
Bet he also got shoes and a car he can drive.
Sooooooo fine.
girlll😂😂😂🤣🤣
The complete package!

Michael Scott is also a a pretty good salesman. Don’t forget the Michael Scott paper company back in its hay day
I know he has his problems.

"Well, I didnt know about figs, specifically".. this line perfectly sums up David's niceness

I love Wallace’s slow disappointment as this goes on because for a moment he was ready to hear something interesting.
“I am so impressed with the potential you see in me.” 😂😂😂
My favorite fact about David Wallace was that he was an actual Wall Street guy before deciding to become an actor. That’s why he’s so believable.
Even Though the Scranton Branch is probably the most profitable, David Wallace has the patience of saint when it comes to Michael Scott
Kevin's extra delayed 'hi'
HELLO
that was his brain working in overdrive
love how idris elba breaks in the first scene😂
😂😂

“May God guide you in your quest…”

What do one even say in such a scenario 😂
this part got me creasing lmao
Guysssss I’ve been crushing on David Wallace since I was like 14 LOL
He is kinda daddy material 😅😂
Andy Buckley is fine
people say i look very like him. Lets make your dreams come true?
Same
The fact that there are girls that have crushes on guys like this actually gives me hope for humanity.
David Wallace is definitely the hottest on the show. Also the world's most patient man, so you know he'd be an excellent father LOL
Chief Financial Officer? More like Chief FINE-ancial Officer
david wallace is hot there i said it
Smokin'.
Youre right and you should say it 😤
As Meredith told him over the phone, "your wife is a very lucky woman."😅
He's not, though, he's crusty
He’s just so daddy
Sure, Jim is cute, but David Wallace is outright hot
💯
David Wallace’ catchphrase: “……yes…”
Toby: Do you see David Wallace in the room right now?
Me: I feel David Wallace in this Chilli's tonight
David is the best character, and deserved more screen time.
Maybe an entire spin-off! Or a movie! Make it a trilogy! Release some books! I want David Wallace's Funko Pop! 🥳🎉🤯💥🥚🌋🔥🪜🧱
@@redacted2275 Yeah. They could make a spin-off show called "Corporate", or something.

I didn't knew David Wallace was 6'5 tall until now. 😵😅
Was just about to comment this!
@@kathrynottman7949 yeah, he's deceivingly tall, haha!
he isnt, its just a trend and he fits the description most out of anyone
@@tombolton6063 yeah, that's what I thought. He's probably 6'2. 6'3 at most.
David had the patience to sit through Michael's "philosophy" 😆
David's the 🐐 man. I'm glad he ended up very well.
I remember how emotional invested I was with Michael and Wallace relationship. It was... something good to watch being developed. Thank you.
Like a younger sibling and his older brother
Very professional, very strategic, PATIENT, and overly nice to Michael! 😂
He was overly nice to Michael, because somehow the Scranton branch was the only profitable branch and David was unable to figure out why, but didn't wanna break the flow.
I alway thought David Wallace was hot...
He looked good in the hot tub scenes. Too bad he wasn’t shirtless more often in the series.

The social media manager for this account deserves a raise! The video title is ✨ELITE✨ 😂😂😂
"May god guide you in your quest.... yees" funniest line in the entire show hands down.
The photoshop in his eyes in the thumbnail picture lmaooooo
I really liked David Wallace’s character in the earlier series.
finally people are acknowledging david wallace is kind of hot
After many rewatches he is my favourite character.
1:08 "I'm so impressed with the potential you see in me"😂
i'm falling in love with him, i guess?
David Wallace may be a nice guy, but considering the people he's hired over the years, he's a terrible judge of character.
He hired Dwight as branch manager, that was about his only good move.
@@toddhall3389 Even that's honestly weird. How is Dwight a terrible choice for most of the series, and then suddenly he's a good pick?
