I didn't grow up in this cult but I grew up among cultlike organizations and experienced some of these type things, including sexual abuse. Good for you getting out and I am proud of you too! It's so hard to under systemic brainwashing. For me, it makes it difficult to trust ANY organization or people, in general. Now I'm hyperaware of cults and cultlike people and institutions. I want to somehow get into a field of work where I can help people escape and\or recover from situations like this.

How sad for a child to grow up feeling like this. So glad she was able to think outside of this cult brainwashing. It's interesting how people who experience extreme hardships like this often end up even stronger and more resilient to rise above and then help others with their strength and experience.
