- Remaking one of the most famous maps in gaming as photorealistic as possible.
I started learning UE5 for over a month now and I just wanted to share the results of my progress developing my first fps game. - Ігри

There's nothing ground breaking, it's the fish eye and some more effect that simulate a body cam that makes it look real.

Playing this wearing a VR headset would make me feel I actually live there and should try my best not to be killed. That is true fear.

Some places are totally not realistic. The hands/animations are not realistic, etc.
this kind of ultra realistic texture stuff exist since a long time ago ( like 10 years ago people were demoing in HL2) but u can't have a game like that. Like imagine your csgo maps being like 1TB and u needing 128GB of Ram just to LOAD the map ... How u get this effect? its simple u place ultra high resolution pictures in the place of textures
Is reality even real at this point? if a computer can generate something that can pretty much look exactly like reality, and it s only the beginning of it..

I’m curious to see what a side by side comparison with vs without the bodycam effects would look like. I feel like the shakiness and such adds a lot to making it look like “real” footage since it’s not this mathematically perfect camera perspective that games normally have

It looks VERY believable. The proportions of the map sells the illusion that this is a place that could actually exist.
Meh, the distance between pit and site on A-long is too short, it's called 'long' for a reason.
@@hanscombrinck1481 No. The whole map is smaller, that's why it's shorter. But everything else is also shortened, so proportions of the map are still correct.
I mean og dust 2 proportions have sense too - it's based in some sort of castle or fort so yeah

Looks very good! I think the best way to make a game look realistic is stimulating the way cameras record reality. The sensations of been watching a record of reality is better than just emulate the reality and gives more believable.
And because a camera recording can be as far from reality as it wants, the game just has to imitate the camera with which the player is familiar with, no matter how bad it is if the player usually asociates what theyre seeing to something thats real.
This is awesome, especially to say you've only been learning it for over a month.
You only having over a month of experience with ue5 and making this is amazing! great job!

This looks absolutely amazing! I think that this scales with Unrecord and it is amazing! I would love to try this game out if you ever will release it.
Not to be mean, but I feel it's worth mentioning that Unrecord looks much better. It takes a few minutes to be sure the Unrecord footage is not real life. It takes a few seconds here.
Also I am not saying this guy did, but it just feels like a straight cop out from Unrecord. I mean Unrecord gets announced, get's viral for it's realistic graphics now a lot of small developers are scrambling to make a fisheye effect bodycam shooter.@@vibaj16
Go look at some of the Garrys mod unrecord mods. Dudes are down bad for this type of shooter. I just hope the original G who made Unrecord gets credit for possibly starting this new movement of fisheye effect shooters in the FPS genre.@@vibaj16

The camera movement, the scenario, texture of the hands and gun, the movement of hands is a little robotic but okay

you can't have the hand movement be too smooth for an fps game like this. the player has to be able to aim and shoot quickly somehow

Great job, and hope big tech companies apricates and approve your work. This style of gaming graphics first appear in a game called "Bodycam". where realism is the main feature there.
This is horrifically amazing. Absolutely scary cuz now anyone can create any realistic area from any part of the world and can spread misinformation, yet this is so much brilliant for filmmakers who face limitation in terms of specific site shots. Brilliantly scary.

Pre-rendered video could do that before, but now it's just live rendering. Same with tech like ray/path tracing.

No, one could not really spread misinformation using this. It's impressively realistic, but there are plenty of things that give away that it's not real, especially in this video (compared to the Unrecord game, this is much easier to tell that it's a game. But still, even Unrecord isn't perfect at hiding the inaccuracies)

I am trying to recreate this with no experience in ue5, I am doing really well so far but I am still facing a lot of problems because the knowledge is missing. Keep it up!

this is some backrooms type shiz fr. It's so familiar but slightly different in certain aspects like the size of the open area at A long doors being smaller which therefore creates that liminal space type feeling. Cool stuff!

doesnt have to be scanned but for 3d scanning you would use gaussian splatting
It's all in the lighting and ambient occlusion, that's what makes it so damn real. High detail polygons help too.

I've been thinking about this as well. The AI generators concern. Me ppl could make threats using real people likeness and cause possible chaos.

If I would have seen this video in 2012, I would have thought it's an airsoft game bodycam footage with a very good quality camera. We have come a long way over the years in terms of realism in video games. There's still a lot of work to mimick realism, but we are coming closer and closer to achieving it by each year.
And we are seeing that people alone can do better games than studios..

@@kyckling9376and the bodycam style camera with a bit of blurrynes... making things blurry makes them realistic because our eyes are very good on noticing unrealistic detail... so remove the detail a bit and it looks realistic af coz lower res

Could this be ported into something like Pavlov for VR? It would probably be a huge file with this much detail but man it would be sweet in VR.
It’s possible, but honestly most VR headsets on the market rn are super weak (thinking Oculus), and supply and demand. Nobody will do something like that for a market of three users with powerful headsets

@@nesphra1094 pc vr is still a thing, and there is a shortage of games there. so this would work. VR gamers crave games like this for PC vr. and there is PC VR headsets that have amazing res and FOV. like the Pimax Crystal. its getting better and better. dont diss the pc vr anymore =)

Unreal Engine 5 is getting too good now, was playing Dead Island 2 earlier, the graphics on that are so photographic now. This prototype game however really does push it even further!
Dust is some of the finest bit of map design in the history of gaming.
I have only ever seen this map in Mount and Blade, so this was jarring to me.
