Hi Sébastian, Thank you so much for making this video in English! I hope you can do more videos in English.. I failed my 1st attempt last week. So sad invoegen, uitvoegen en bochten rijden is not good enough. I hope I can do it next time. 🙏🙏🙏😇
Excellent videos. May I just request one feature? There is usually a speed controller available in most video players. 0.5x, 1x, 1.5x etc. If that can be embedded to the videos, nothing like that.
Thank you so much for making this in English for us who don't perfectly communicate in dutch. Although the this video made me dizzy while watching it 😅 still a good help. Thank you again
Your English is really quite good. But understand that the word is "examiner" not "examinator" but you actually sound quite good. Everything you say is pretty intelligible despite the rapid cadence. Here in the US we do the test in our own cars, and typically use automatic models because the proportion of manual transmission cars on the US market is below 5%, and has been in the minority since the 1950s when other automakers began to buy General Motors' automatic transmission, which they had introduced on production models in 1940.
Don't apologize for your English, you are doing all the work to establish communication so we just have to thank you. And thanks for this video, I have a license from Brazil and also drove for a long time in Finland and France before coming here and this year I'm going to take the test. Licence in Brazil is a long process, it's not just about getting a book and studying at home. It is mandatory to take a two week course, if I'm not mistaken, each class lasts more than 3 hours and we have classes every day. The country is very big so we have to learn in theory about how to drive in various types of environments, from desert to snow. Legislation and a little mechanics. I took the course for cars and motorcycles, A and B driver's license.
Thank you for this video :) I'm a foreigner that lives in the Netherlands so it was nice to find a video in English. My bf watched it three times before his test, and he succeeded 1st try :) I did the same, and watched it 2 times, and I succeeded today at my test 1st try as well. Your advises and calm approach gave me a confident boost :) thank you !
@@RavenNiffler I can understand ! Best of luck to you, I'm sure you'll do well :) my best advice is to try to stay in your bubble and not think "oh it's over" "oh I did wrong". If something is not perfect, that is fine and it happens. They look at the overall experience so it's not over until you are at the parking lot of the CBR. Me I asked to not chit-chat with the examinator, so that I could concentrate and stay in my bubble. It was super good, she just talked with my instructor instead and I could pretend like I was driving alone
I just got back from living in England for 3 years. I was actually thinking of getting my licence over there, but I'm glad I didn't do it. They drive on the wrong side of the road!! 😜 Don't apologize for your english, I'm sure you helped a lot of people with this video. Thumbs up for Sebastiaan! 👍
Thank you so much for this video Sebastiaan. I come from New Zealand and have had a NZ drivers licence for 20yrs, so of course i need to do EVERYTHING all over again. This video was incredibly helpful and much appreciated, even your efforts to do this in English is such a saviour!
Thank you so much for this! I failed my first exam in December, and I watched your video this week the night before my second try, and I passed! I think I got the luckiest day of the year for my test though, 8AM on January 2, was practically the only car on the road! 😂
Great video. I live in the Netherlands and I'm getting my car today! Very excited. One thing I find very very strange in the Dutch rules, i.e. to always give way to your right! (unless indicated by the yellow diamond). That is so illogical to me, especially on roads that look like a main road. I know it's there for safety but when you're on a long road and suddenly have to stop to give way to a car coming out from a right minor road, it can be frustrating in the least and confusing.
Extremely informative video for new learners. Must want before going for practical exam. I failed first time due to minor mistakes which we most ignore when sitting behind wheel. It is best to watch a video from instructor who is demonstrating what to do in actual situations. Just passed in second attempt! Please make more videos or at least add English sub-title for your Dutch videos.
This was super helpful, and thank you for doing it in English! I'm a British expat, currently doing some refresher lessons after not driving at all for several years. It's tricky as I'm so rusty anyway but with the obvious differences from driving in the UK thrown in I've found it more challenging than anticipated. I honestly don't know how other expats can just come to the Netherlands and drive without any sort of mishap or serious incident. Anyway, thanks for this vid and any further ones you do in English will be much appreciated! :-)
A lot of countries have the same rules as we have in Holland, especially in europe; unfortunately it is very confusing to switch from left to right vice versa since those basic rules are ingrained in your mind.
Thanks for this video Sebastiaan, I watch this video every time I'm about to take my driving lesson here in the Netherlands. Your explanations are really clear, sometimes even better than my own driving instructor!
Just came here to say thank you, Sebastiaan, for recording this one in English. I finally will not need this specific video as I passed the exam today. I also watched many your Dutch videos as I can already understand and speak some Dutch, but this one was a very good start some time ago, when I found it. Unfortunately I couldn’t pass from my first attempt (now I understand I just was not ready enough at that time), but I’m happy I finally did it and your videos were very helpful!
After driving for 5 years, on and off, in the Netherlands.. this video finally made me understand why dutchies always signal their direction changes soooo late.. Basically, at the point where I can already see they're turning in that direction. By the time it takes to do the inside outside shoulder check BEFORE signaling, you're already in the intersection. I find Dutch drivers to be extremely calm and predictable, except for this situation, which is always a pain point for me. I can't count how many times I got stuck outside a roundabout because a driver signalled way too late that they are exiting before me. Or when I couldn't overtake a car going right when I'm going straight, for the same reason.
If you indicate too late, you have also prepared to indicate too late. That's basically what my instructor would say to me if I would be too late. 'Divide your attention.' was her main motto. This meant overlooking roundabouts well before you got to a point of interference. If I would be late, I would get the book thrown at me.
I just got my afrij examen and I didn't passed it, and thanks I found your youtube channel and got my confident again. I will give it try one more time this month. And don't be sorry, jouw engels is goed en duidelijk.

i find it good on one hand how strict the exams are here. the whole inside outside shoulder realy gets you making your own spacial awareness and after driving on your own youll probably stop doing it, since your doing it subconciosly the whole time. Or it could just be that i never really drive in cities anymore.
