Thank you Yorgo! I am torn between the BigMe and the Dasung Paperlike Color. It looks to me as if BigMe offers the better product in terms of image quality and also software
My pleasure! i agree, the bigme seems to offer the best package as a whole. They also released two updates since the release of the bigme screen. I still have to make a full review but I will definitely at some point I will make it 😅 overall, I recommend it if you know e-ink and what you will use it for.
My pleasure Bertrand! I need to fine the time to make the review, but once I get to it, it will be very extensive! I used it as a main monitors for a few days and now I switched to using it as a second monitor. So I will have a lot to talk about and will try to share as many use cases as possible :-)
Thanks for that video. For the review video: it seems that it is overall dark. show under bright enviroments and next to a white paper for comparison. open up a color wheel image to see where it breaks. if you have any software like autocad or photoshop, to see how much lag it has and if it is possible to work. if anything just move windows around and rescale them to see the lag. thanks!
How does it feels the mouse movement? Is it fluid enough for work without lag? Looking for and eink monitor primarily for web browsing and excel spreadsheets.
You mentioned mouse lag. I am curious how significant it is. Does it make it difficult to use? I do work that does require me to do alot of clicking/selecting of buttons and switching between different windows. Thank you for this preview, its helping me alot.
The lag is a bit annoying but you can get used to it after a certain time. However, it still remains annoying for interfaces that require a lot of clicking. Because of that, I try to use keyboard shortcuts as much as possible.
Are you using the backlight at night or do you feel it removes the benefits of that type of screen? Is there a warm color? thanks for the review, i can't stand led light and looking for an alternative.
I sometimes use the backlight but I prefer the look of shining an external light on the screen, even at night. Using the backlight doesnt remove the benefits of the screen IMO. And yes, there is a warm color. Stayed tuned for the full review :-)
Hey @yorgohoebeke, regarding the mouse lag, it seems that Bigme released a firmware that solves it, according to this video: ua-cam.com/video/9fyUi4L05xg/v-deo.html.
Thank you for this video. I have a specific question concerning the mouse input. Over the course of 30 years my eyes ARE getting really, really bad. I intend to get a montior like this as soon as possible. But I need to do a A LOT of work on it. Mainly vst based music production which means high precision manipulating of many small levers and knobs via the mouse and I would love to use this for flatshaded or wireframe 3d box modeling which is a slow process so not so high refresh of the image is ok. What concerns me is the lag/ghosting on the input. Concerning the mouse...how good/bad is the quality of usage while using this monitor? Is it really working for you? Is the mouse ghosting not just another cause for eyestraine? I would very much appreciate your comment. All the best.
Mouse usage is working but you require a time of adaptation to get used to the lag which is definitely noticeable. Whenever possible, I try to use the keyboard and avoid mouse input. You could perhaps buy external controllers that would give you analog options to tweak the vst settings. Other than that, some days I only use the e-ink screen and it worked decently enough. Some tasks take more time. But it can be worth it for eye strain - I noticed a big difference (aka, I had no eye strain anymore after using the e ink screen compared to spending a whole day working on a LCD screen)
Also, note that software is very much mouse based input. Most drawbacks of the display lag would be solved by using a touch screen or by using keyboard + analog devices/controllers. Lastly, I had to lower the speed/sensitivity of my mouse to make it more useable
@@Patheticbutharmless My pleasure! Stay tuned for my extensive review of the monitor. I don't know when I will have the time to film it but once I do it will be very extensive :-)
Hello. I bought this monitor, but it turned out to be defective. After I unpacked it, I saw that the monitor leg was damaged, well, this is a small thing compared to the fact that the backlight turns on and off on its own and periodically switches the monitor’s operating modes, and turns the sound on and off, and I personally hate you for advertising this monitor, after which I bought it, and now I don’t know what to do with it. The support service sent me a new firmware, after the firmware a new word appeared on the monitor that “no power” when turned off and that’s it, nothing in the operation of the monitor changed, it didn’t work normally and still doesn’t work! I paid almost $1500 for this monitor.
@@orange11squares Good afternoon, I am in Germany. Yes, some buttons periodically simply do not work, and connecting the displayport cable to the monitor does not work correctly, but the support service writes to me that there is a problem with the cable, but the cable is working and I know this for sure, because it works fine with another monitor

Hi Kostia, sorry to hear your experience. I did not advertise anything but just shared my experience - I still need to make a full review. What can cause the switching are the vocal commands - unless it is a software bug. Ask support whether there is a way to turn off voice commands. Thank you for the nice preview of bigme color e ink monitor, I look forward for the review.
looking forward to seeing the in-depth review! Thanks
Thanks for leaving a comment! Any specific questions you would like answers to?
Looking forward to the detailed review 😊

@@yorgohoebeke Good luck for your channel :)
Hope you will still make a review some day. Would be interesting after months of use.
and the most important question is whether the eye pain disappeared after you started using this monitor?
for me it definitely did (Dasung paperlike color, same panel)
Yes, when I only use this monitor, my eye strain is completely gone.
fookiiinnn coolzzz
I agree :D
getting something like would be a dream come true for me
It's pricey but it's a game changer!

Hello there , I hope you are enjoying the monitor and using it productively. When can we expect the detailed review video ?
Hi! I need to make/find the time to review it. For now the timeline is unclear, sorry for that... :)
Is bigme B253 darker than dasung paperlike color?
Please tell me where you bought this monitor; And how long did you have to wait for it to arrive?
I bought it during their crowdfunding campaign. Once they shipped it, the shipping was very fast. About a week i think.

Thank you for the review, was this without the frontlight on?
The front light was on except for the video at the end showing the use during the night
can you please comment the details of cost breakdown including custom and vat?
I think it was about 1300 + 118 euros of import tax

does it came with a warm/yellow backlight ?
It comes with a front light that can be set to warm or cool. And it is a really warm color, so it's perfect for late night work
Hi,
did you use it for typing (writing text)?!
I'd like to know how fast the refresh-rate is...
Greets
It works decently for typing if you don't mind the lag
Hi, what is the built material of the screen? plastic or aluminium? thx!
And thx for the vid
My pleasure!
It's mainly in aluminium I think, but it is very light so I'm not 100%.
