Should get a cheap £1000-£1500 car that everyone is able to buy and it would be cool to see what you can do to it just to show others what’s possible with a small budget
@@Weefykins yeah I’ve seen that mate, thought it was brilliant that’s why I said we need something similar, just think his talent and work is fucking phenomenal, the man doesn’t even give up 😂
You got body panels for a mk7 Golf. 2012-2017 The mk7,5 2017-2019 has a shorter nose that’s why the body panels you got are longer than the ones you pulled off. You also need Golf R grills for the bumper you got R-line in the blue bumper. Otherwise you won’t get any air to the intercoolers. Hope this helps. 😊👍
I just was involved in an accident about two days ago and lost my Audi TT. I got mine because Mat inspired me. I loved that car so much. I thought i should share.
Surely that alloy is weaker..... I was always told not to do this due to weak fractured bits within the actual alloy. Nice vid as always. Personally the best vid yet as shows your plan to fix this. So glad the frames straight.....Keep them comming. Regards to Hannah and Kevin.👌👌👌👌😉

I don't know what shocked me more in this video - the fact that someone could repair that alloy, or the fact that you aren't a mechanic! Your ability with a car is incredible!
My son and I rebuilt a US 2017 MK7 Gti with similar damage. Have fun with all the interior spring clips in the dash, grab handles/visors and roof airbags! Those were the most god awful part in our build. May I suggest you buy the $20 removal tool for the clips so you don’t hate yourself after breaking a $120 visor and at least one $50 handle! Great project and channel keep up the good work!

So glad you are painting this one Matt. Love your builds but mix them up a bit, can’t wrap all of them. Even if you wrap it after the future owner will appreciate more with panels same colour.
You can't be doing that bad as the haters say, "not knowing what you're doing". Because you're making a living off of it and have multiple cars and houses. Good on you Mat. We're behind you all the way
Can't believe you get grief from some folk. I'm a qualified vehicle mechanic and I think you do a superb job - even professionals never stop learning, so keep it up!👍🏻
It looks like that off side front is off centre in the wheel arch, are you sure it was not pushed backwards in the crash. Great video keep up the good work
Hi Mat, I've only discovered your Chanel like a month or so ago and i'me seeing all your videos from beginning. It is impressive how you are not a mechanic but you are not afraid to try the things and in the end you always make it right. You are an inspiration for all guys that love cars. I'm really starting to think to fix my wife's first car. A fiat panda cafe. Thanks for your work and inspiring us to do it
I love the enthusiasm despite the setbacks. Matt’s attitude is inspiring & I’m hoping it can spur me on to finish my Audi S1 front end crashed rebuild which I bought a year ago & sat in the corner of my workshop after putting it in the “too hard for me” basket. Thanks Matt for getting me back on track to tackle it myself. Cheers!
Hey, I think you are doing a great job, probably better than some licensed car mechanics. The Nissan car dealership tried three attempts to fix my new Nissan with no luck, they had to get an engineer in who fixed it in an hour. I am a licensed Refrigeration Mechanic and Heating Technician and I would say easily half the people in my trade don't know what they are doing, scary when you are dealing with natural gas. I love cars and dirt bikes and do most of my own work, just like you. Great job and keep up the great videos. Toronto, Canada
Mat genuinely your positivity in everything you do regardless of the negative comments and set backs is an inspiration, even if you do a lot of kicking and swearing in between filming. I look forward to your videos each week and can't wait to see how the golf turns out and what new builds this year will bring. 🤞no more hidden damage!!
Good work Mat, little tip for you! when closing the bonnets on these vag cars don’t push it shut, drop it down onto the latch otherwise you’ll get the dreaded crease along the bonnet where you’ve pushed down and it’s on the latch 👍🏼
Cant criticize you for working on your own cars, your not charging for practicing on customers cars, it’s good to learn with you as you go along, credit to you mate...
Even most mechanics were messing with their cars before they trained to do it. The trolls will moan but youve got more balls than me to take on something like this and you learn and save yourself a bundle whilst doing it. Its not all about the cars, us regulars are watching your life experiences and I admire you for havibg the guts and good humour to do it. Well done. 😎👍
Detective Mat was amazing, and it's also cool that you're trying to get this painted instead of just wrapping it since you haven't tried to go that route yet! Maybe get a detailer that can fix the inside of the car and also give the paint a good polish to really make it shine.
Bro let the haters hate! The fact you are attempting to fixed a smashed car on your own is epic 😎✌🏼 good luck! I can’t wait to see the end product and to follow the project

Any chance you can upload 5 hour vids Matt - it'll help me get through more than just 20 minutes of my day!! Absolutely loving the content mate, the only channel I subscribe to that I genuinely look forward to every upload.
Good news is if you need anything coding or any faults clearing i have vag com and am only around 25 minutes from you so am always happy to pop and help
I’d check your hood hinges, they can get bent and cause fitment issues but honestly any aftermarket body panel typically needs a little work to fit like OEM. Also you can find structural frame measurements and measuring points online to check if your frame is bent rather than using new parts to see if everything is square.
I can't believe anyone would say you don't have a clue... I honestly thought you were an engineer / mechanic in a previous life! And 3k sounds great for all the parts.
People saying you ain't got no idea are just jealous Matt. Look at your tools, setup, ramp & your lock up.. oh yeh and do i need to mention the cars you've worked on... You've come so far back from when I 1st saw you with the little 1 series. Keep up the good content bro 👌
Stop trying pattern parts. Body panels need to be OEM, ideally from breakers yard or from manufacturer. There is a reason they are more expensive. Difference between a bodge and doing it right.
This video is sooo well put together! Your content is getting better day by day. And dont forget, that you are the only youtuber, who gets people to pay attention during adverts. Amazing cars. Amazing stories. Amazing bloke. Thank you!
