As a 57 y.o. man whose level was 350, I had to fight with my doctors ( uro, endo) to get on TRT, not because of bad labs but because it seems doctors are told not to recommend testosterone but to prescribe Clomid and Viagra or 5mg of Sil. daily. Even after finally being on Test Cyp. 100mg weekly for 9 months with marked all around improvements which I'm extremely happy about I still have to fight to convince my doctors to keep me on TRT, or pharmacies to supply it. I now have to go to an outside clinic and pay out of pocket so that I can restart TRT (2 months off Test). I wish more docs were as open minded as you.
So knowledgeable and sharing/caring. Great that Dr. H explains things in such a non-threatening way that men can take up on and not feel embarrassed or shameful.
Thank you for watching! Please share with any men that need this information :)
Dont need big needles. I can use insulin pins into the muscle (I use thighs and shoulders) …no problem
Just found your channel and ofcourse subsribed to it. Do you recommend anyone in Dallas Tx area by any chance? Thank you
Atleast this doctor has full comma of.her job, that's marvelous.
what is a good progesterone dosage to use on hrt? i was given 25mg ? is that too low
Jatenzo is an oral therapy that doesn’t affect the liver. Jatenzo is FDA approved.
Thank you Susan for very informative information.
Dr PETER ATTIA suggests that free testosterone be 2% of Total Testosterone to be balanced.
What are your thoughts on this. E.g. Total Testosterone 594 with Free Testosterone 11.
This is probably a dumb question but: when you say, for example, that a man is put on 2000 mg of pellets (ie. 10 pellets in your example) is that to say that each pallet contains 200 mg of testosterone, or does that number have to do with the amount of dosage that is released from each pellet say on daily basis? Just curious where the milligram numbers come from if that makes sense. I guess I’m trying to figure out like your example, how much is the target to be released on a daily basis or is that number just not matter at all?
Secondary question from my wife: do the T pellets come in doses smaller than 200 mg? Or is it that you would actually cut one of those in half if you wanted to give a woman 100 mg?
my brother lives in Ft. Worth, could u recommend a doctor in his area that does the pellets? Ive done them for 7+ yrs---they r life changing!! Love your videos!!!
Have him look up “Biote” providers in his area.
Hey Melanie, you can have him check biote.com for providers
Dr Susan,
My husband is 58 and has a testosterone level of 500. He wants to try pellets. But he has heard once you start it’s not good for you to stop. Any truth in this? Thank you
I wish you were in Illinois. My PCP is full of sh#t. 🤣
? if cant afford pellets, i am 57 yr old female, i do get inj, do u feel cream is a better delivery than inj delivery??
I dont know and to be honest I have no idea what Im talking about, but I have heard a few people on youtube say that they prefer injections over cream. I think its a lot more difficult to get exact doses with cream, plus youre constantly worrying about trying to not get any of that cream on other people.
ty
Hey there Deborah, my preference is pellets although I understand they’re not for everybody
just had labs done and T level is 590, est 24, prog 0.7. this isnt good i believe, i do get T inj. You say optimal T is 100-150??
@@deborahc7113 Yes testosterone should not be nearly that high! That is an average testosterone level for a 45 year old man and is going to lead to a lot of side effects if you don’t drop it down. With testosterone injections the level will be much higher two days after the injection than seven days after the injection. You don’t get an even blood level which is why pellets are preferable. And estradiol should be 40 to 80 :)
im a 31 year old guy, my sex drive disappeared since a year and that makes me sad every day. My total test is 342 and my doc said thats normal so absolutely no trt for me. yeah right, I think ill go to a specialist, how can I date girls if I cant even enjoy sex. Id give up a LOT to be as horny as I was 5 years ago. Pallets are kinda interesting, I was just thinking about 2 injections per week. PS im not fat, I do weigh 97kg but im 191cm tall and a year ago I still managed a set of 18 pullups (not anymore cuz I have been slacking)
after a bit more research now Im thinking of trying enclomiphene before trt. Depending on the situation, enclomiphene could roughly double your test without shutting down your t production and potentially making you infertile. (for males)
I’ll bet you your doctor didn’t check your Free T. Most doctors have a blank in their training with regards to sex hormones because it’s not taught in traditional medical schools. So don’t take your doctors word that your levels are normal. The experts recommend TRT for those 350> if symptoms are present due to gene CAG repeats lengths, receptor sensitivity differing in men.
