- Today was supposed to be the state's SWA tornado drill, however the drill was canceled due to incoming storms. I found out that the base was still conducting their drill today anyway. This is one of two or three Cooper/Eaton based systems in the deep south one probably the largest of them with about 14 or so sirens. The system consists of a mix of WAVES sirens from Cooper and at least one from Eaton and MadahCom (older SiRcom). SiRcomUSA mentions this system in one of their specsheets.
Wow. The voice is very clear
Yes, these have really good tone generators and amps. Also the speaker drivers. Overall these are really great sirens and I love them. They also have a distinct warning tone but aren’t very loud tho. This however is 110-116dB at 100 feet since it has 8 speakers
“Exit sign. Exit sign. Exit sign.” (Censoring censoring censoring) “Attention....”
LOL!
LOLOL
It took a few replays to realize that the guy was saying "exercise" and not "exit side". But other than that the voice is freaky clear!
Nice high quality voice test!
That clarity on the voice is interesting
I agree. SUPER clear.
Exercise Exercise Exercise We get it were all fat
LOL!
XD
me: mom, can we have a hörmann ecn?
mom: no, we already have a hörmann ecn at home!
hörmann ecn at home:
Eggs are sides
...to bacon
Ok I actually love this mans voice though
I believe that these sirens are supposed to be tied into building mass notification systems.
If you don't know this siren the ecn-3000 this siren was use a lot in Country
Happy SWA!
Does this thing have a siren sound?
Awesome catch! I tried to film something today (Roswell tested at noon)...it was interesting to say the least. (The video will explain.)
PeachtreeSirens will the video be posted within the next year? Lol
German speaker siren. interesting
It does look like a hörmann ECN-1200
It sure does
Waves is the AMERICAN version of the hoorman ecn's. My dad worked at Eaton Corporation. They also own sure-lites and Wheelock.
@@queencitysirens8755 The horns use a similar design, but these are slightly different. The ECN's horns are modular, while these clamp onto the mast. The Cooper/Eaton horns actually came from the German company SiRcom. The original WAVES sirens were SiRcom SiBT models imported, rebranded as the WAVES SPT-2000 series, and installed by MadahCom. Cooper bought the brand and introduced the HPSA-3000 series and eventually equipped it with their own controller. They still used horns with SiRcom's logos until like 2012 before they started casting their own with the WAVES logo. SiRcom started selling sirens in the US in 2015 through SiRcomUSA. Alertus is another company that sells similar sirens in the US based off of Telegrafia's Pavian series. Hormann America/ASC hasn't sold the ECN series in a long time actually.
@@DJ2226 Oh ok, I actually found one in New York, by buffalo at New York State university.
Cooper Waves, Hormann, Alertus, SiRcom, Klaxon ES, all the same.
ty
They are all vastly different aside from using somewhat similar linear horns for their speakers. The horns from Hormann are actually modular and stack up, while the rest all clamp onto a pole like what's seen in the video. The controls are all completely different. The only thing they share as far as I know is the driver.
@@DJ2226 yeah ur right
Klaxon ES horns are shaped a little different
Not all are the same. Here’s the differences: Cooper HPSAs (especially the newer ones) do custom 850/1020Hz siren tones opposed to 415/425Hz like the Alertus, Hörmann, and SiRcoms (and these three are the same except the controllers are all different in their ways iirc). Idk anything about the Klaxon tho. But the Cooper HPSAs are the only ones that are really different bc of the siren tones they can do
*excersise?*
Great! ;D
It would be good if they didn't use jargon like "Exercise", "Destructive Weather" and "Operations". Everyone knows what "test" means, and I hope they also know what "tornado" means.
It appears Bill speaking through there has a nice voice
bruh wth am I talking about
I like the dual tone wail signal
I like their dual tone alert signal more as it has a very cool wind up. There was an ambience of some Cooper WAVES in alert in Okinawa, Japan but it got deleted sadly
That sure is an odd looking siren!
It has the style of a german siren
Sounds odd too when it sounds a warning signal
That is some voice clarity.
I think these are a great alternative to Modulators. They kinda sound like one when they actually sound a warning tone, but more like a thunderbolt 1000T that happens to have a sound frequency of 850/1020Hz, and also they got some clear voice quality and stuff. Great sirens!
It Sounds Like A Sound Like A Code 3 Tone From Wheelock Speaker Strobes Fire Alarms And System Sensor Spectralert Advance Fire Alarm Speaker Strobes
sweet :D
yes
These pulses are set to code 3.
What’s the difference between a 7108 and a 3108? Is it the wattage? Also seriously, voice for SWA? It should do a 1Khz tone or wind up in short dual tone alert like an e-class does before a voice set, then do tornado warning voice, pause or repeat a few times, then windup in 850/1020Hz alert doing the full cycle, then do all clear voice and maybe a chime after to finish it off there, or keep going and do another set of tornado warning voice, with a short dual tone alert or 1Khz pulse in between, then wind up in 850/1020Hz wail after second voice doing the full cycle and then chimes, and all clear message without short alerts or anything in between. That would be a MUCH better SWA test since after all, this is a siren and not just some ungodly loud loudspeaker. I don’t think many people get that. Also I wonder what do the controls look like
The 3108 and 7108 are more or less the same sirens besides the 3100 series being radio activated and the 7100 series being activated through a fire panel. Everything the WAVES sold under the Cooper brand with the exception of some of the very first 3100 series sirens are 100 watts per horn, while some of the first 3100 series sirens and the earlier WAVES STP series sirens sold under MadahCom have SiRcom panels that run them at 125 watts. WAVES prioritizes voice usage over tones. It's not my favorite, but it worked well during the tornado that hit the base the prior year. There are pictures of them online if you search for them on the Siren Board.
@@DJ2226 I see. Also which controller is the one that produces the 850/1020Hz siren tones? Is it the SiRcom?
@@SirensAndAlarmsOfNorthernILAll of the sirens from the 3100 series up to what they make now does those tones when they actual do tone. The SiRcom ones do 415/420 Hz as they do in Germany.
We have 33 of these sirens on O’ahu. They are all branded by MadahCom. Half of them are on UltraVoice controls and sound like every other federal signal siren in the state. However the other half still have their original MadahCom controls & I’ve personally heard them sounding during statewide monthly tests. Interesting sirens to say the least, and they actually sound very punchy with the FS UltraVoice upgrade.
@@oahusirens funny that they are on UVs even tho they sound like them with the original controls lol
Looks like one of thos Hormann sirens
This siren looks like the Aquamonix siren.
Nice Echoes
They would be even more insane if it did the wail signal. They need to do SWA with a tornado warning voice with either 1Khz tones or dual toned short alerts in between, then do a short pause, then wind up in dual toned 850/1020Hz wail or alert (wail would be better as it is a practice tornado warning) and do the full cycle. After that is done, they should do all clear voice with nothing in between, and optional chimes to finish the SWA
Awesomeness!
Do you know why don’t they do full dual toned wail for SWA and just voice? I also wonder if there is a place in U.S with HPSAs that tests them in their dual toned signal
Extra thighs extra thighs EXTRA THIGHS
Clean
this is actually a 7108-R
It's a 3108. It has the white cabinet with two doors instead of the larger stainless one with a single door that the 7/8100 series shipped with.
@@DJ2226 oh ok
@@DJ2226 ah so that is what the Cooper Wheelock 850/1020Hz electronic outdoor warning siren controllers look like…I think you should try to get one and do all tones on it!
From Australia.
These look just like Hörmann ECNs
They use the same horn design, castings, and drivers as the SiRcom sirens.
@@Acoustic_Theory 👍
Yup they do
I have seen this at a collage
Looks like a hormann
Like hörmann siren
Cussing tornado siren
wat da fuk
fake telegrafia pavian
They are completely different sirens aside from a similar horn design.
oh ok
They are better IMO as they are 850/1020Hz instead of 415/425Hz
