  • I’m pleasantly surprised to be able to close out the month with this head to head! I’m fond of these Tomica vs Hot Wheels videos because these brands, with these premium versions, really feel like natural rivals.

Thanks for the heads up, and sorry I missed it. The engine cover looked like it would open, but I wasn’t able to do it right away. I didn’t try hard enough, then. But now I feel even better about rating it above the Hot Wheels.

There opening parts it's the trunk not the doors

I like the HW better, the profile is just more appealing to me, realistic or not.

Fair enough; to each his own, as they say. For me it's more often than not neck-and-neck between these two brands.

Is the tomica metal metal is the wheels ruber? And where I buy this tomica?

The Tomica is metal but not with a metal chassis. The wheels are plastic, but they're very nicely done. It's available in Toys R Us and Toy Kingdom.

My issue with tomica is the eventual paint blistering in tropical climates specially the ones that are made in Vietnam.

Yes, I admit that is unfortunate. It also happens to the TLVN versions made in China, unfortunately, and because those cost three times as much as the Tomica Premium I tend to avoid them unless they produce a model I really, really like
