The 1986 movie WAS the remake, the original was in 1960.
You'll be pleased to know that Page played Audrey II on stage in 2011. He's been performing musical theatre & opera since '75.

So... My kids love the Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack... but I would make them skip this song because Oogy Boogy scared me to death... For years. Then I watched Ken Page sing live... and realized... He's just a big cuddly Jazz singer! Now I got a crush on the Boogy Man. He plays this part his perfection. Such a natural.
