Thanks for uploading most of this revised version of the musical in English! You all did a great job and some of these comments were way too harsh. I love the German version(s) w/subtitles and to see and hear in English was a treat! Thanks again! Btw though the playlist seems to have some of the songs out of order…
I know I commented on this one before, but I really like the use of the tableau of the brides being killed rather than the offstage screaming. Also, I just watched through all the scenes you posted in chronological order--this time I cried for real at the end! I know these videos have gotten a lot of criticism, and there are certainly some things I didn't care for and would change in a production of my own (mostly stylistic stuff), but this was still a wonderful performance!
This is now my second favorite musical. I love this song. also you were incredible in Jekyll and Hyde, another of my favorite musicals. I hope Dracula comes to America soon.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! you know, I'll tell you: I would give my eye teeth to play this role again. I love it so much. I hope some theatre company out there sees this and asks me to do it... It would truly make my millenium. THANK YOU!
This may not be Broadway but it feels close enough. You can see the chemistry for the two main roles. And as an actor I can say I know how hard it can be. I really enjoyed it and hope you guys make it bigger someday.
Thank you Evangeline. That is a massive compliment I really appreciate it. Music is my passion and I hope to make it bigger someday as well :). THANKS!! (sorry for the delay, Ive been away for a while) Steven
Wow... I've listened to this song before, but I've never gotten so emotional! Great job! Going into vocal student mode here, I think the reason some ppl have been complaining about Mina and Lucy singing is stylistic preference for head voice vs chest voice. I must confess that I think these songs are better suited for head voice, but I can also say from my own experiences that it's not easy to hit some of those high notes in one's chest voice! Kudos to them for that!
Hi FanStory!! Thank you for the kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed it!! I'll second your opinion on the difficulty of doing this in chest. Some of those pieces in chest voice are h-a-r-d. Really hard.
I did a lot of training last year to expand my chest voice to hit higher notes, it's still not exactly easy, especially since I seem to have a natural inclination towards head voice.
Hi Meg, sorry I have not responded sooner. I have realized that for some reason youtube has not been sending me these comments, so I have no idea what people have been writing! Thank you for the well wishes, and Im really glad you enjoyed this :)

This is my favorite production by far! I felt so drawn in by your voices, the emotions felt so raw and realistic that I was brought to tears. You are fantastic and such an amazing Singer/Actor!
In the Tom Hewitt version, the Brides are heard with their deathly screams one by one: one after Dracula sings, "day"; the 2nd after saying "death"; and the last after singing "pain." Plus, he falls in his coffin after being staked, all the remaining hunters return, Harker hugs Mina, and Van Halsing finds dust in Dracula's coffin. Interesting, huh?

And embrace your endless night

I'm tormented by this doubt
Can I deprive you of your death
Can I condemn you to live with out this circle of despair
Or should I not set you free and let you do the same for me
Mina:
I was born to love you
I was born to need you
These are simple truths that I try to betray
Dracula:
If you truly love me
Prove to me you love me
Free me and go back to the beauties of day
I can't poison your life
I can't drive you insane
I can't drag you into my world of bloodlust and pain
My life is no life at all, it's bleak and unforgiving
Feeding on a stranger's blood
Imprisoned by the night
What's the use prolonging life
When life is not worth living?
If you love me set me free, and let me touch the light

Please don't make me end this before it's begun
Dracula:
Give me back to nightfall
Give me back to darkness
Give me back my soul
