Broooo this hits hard! So sorry to hear about your injury. I broke my collar bone at a key point in my career and missed out on so many epic jobs… quickly fell into depression (and I literally never get depressed). Once I sorted my head out I started making the best of the situation and my recovery made me fully appreciate the privilege to be healthy and able to operate! Some great wisdom and insights shared here, you’re handling it like a boss. You’re going to smash this man, stay strong brother🔥
Hey my man! Thanks for the message!
Love how real your videos are bro. Always felt the need to do UA-cam but I could never be a "hey guys welcome to my channel!" kind of guy. Once I came across your channel and saw how authenticity can shine I was convinced to start. Please don't underestimate the impact these videos have. Keep shining brother
Thank you man
I always think about this as I’ve a new hobby this last year of riding enduro dirt bikes. It’s done a lot for me mentally but it’s always the thought that you could get hurt at the back of the mind. Mind you, I broke my toe 6 months ago at a shop when a jar fell on my foot 😂.
It's always a good day when Giancarlo uploads !! Quick recovery brother!!
Thanks!
Dude literally the same thing happened to me half a year ago. Fractured my fibula after a shoot and was in a boot for weeks. On top of that, my wedding was 7 weeks away when it happened so I just about was able to walk without crutches on the big day. It taught me a LOT of patience, trust in God and gratitude for all the great things I still had. Nowadays I still have quite a lot of pain after a day on set so it's still a struggle but I'll get through it. As will you! Much love, Nico
Ahh! I have my wedding coming up too!
Hey what´s up. Long time viewer here. Love your videos and this one specifically. As someone who has also had an injury during work, would like to chip in. I agree 100% that keeping yourself active and growing during the healing process is a great tool to feel better and take advantage of the situation. ALTHOUGH, everyone and every situation is different, so if you need to rest, lay in the bed and watch The Office reruns for an entire week that´s perfectly fine too. So, bottom line: if you can sublimate the accident and make the most out of it, cheers. If you need rest and just being a larvae that´s also fine. As GianCarlo said, mental is as important as physical health. Don´t beat yourself up! Just do your best to get out of a pit of depression if you find yourself in one. Your best is good enough.
Congrats on being able to pivot mentally and keep pushing through! You got this!! Do take advantage of some downtime to rest a bit, you'll probably be chomping at the bit to push yourself even harder when you get back to full strength, so make sure to set some time aside to rest as well.
Really sorry to hear about your injury, hope you can fully recover soon, bro!
That's how you make lemonade out of lemons bro! It's always interesting how a situation gets the mind thinking in different directions
Agreed!
That's a great attitude to have man! I used to just give up and go have a beer when I felt down and it always just made things worse lol.
Thanks
Get better soon friend!
get well soon bro and thanks for your advices as usual
Glad you're in better spirits brother love you bro
My buddy Owen broke the same bone as you within the same week. He is a 3D Artist and creative. Kind of a crazy coincidence!
Puddlejumper !
Amen
Man you’re a soldier! And thank you for sharing
Thank uou
Hope you recover quickly Carlo!
Also those wheels look like they would be very useful for focus pulling.
I hope so too
This video dropped at an unusually precise time! I fractured my right leg fibula after slipping on ice on a jog, and just had 5 screws and a plate inserted in surgery two weeks ago. It’s nice to know that other creatives have experienced similar adversity and can see how you delt with it. You’re spot on as well on accidents arriving at the worst time. I’m taking 23 credits in college and just joined a videography team less than a week before breaking my ankle. Happy time healing stay strong! 💪🏼 school has kept me busy but I’m itching to get back behind the camera and really miss running! A minor inconvenience in the scheme of things but unexpected 😂
Great stuff man thanks for sharing! So sorry to hear about your ankle but glad you're staying positive and productive.
Thank you
Im sorry for your accident but im glad you making the best of it, i recently broke the ligaments on my left shoulder and im been mentally in a loop, had to lose many job as a cinematographer also in a time in wich I felt that everything was going my way, hits hard that my savings for a new camera had to go to surgery but im also gratefull because it was enough, I understand what your going through and i feel less alone by hearing your experience, I still got two weeks until I can move my arm, thank you my best wishes for your recovery also
you got it, broke my knee last year. def was an L but life goes on!
still recovering !!! coming up on the 1 year mark in July, just takes time to heal
Sorry about this accident on the other hand thank you for the positive story shared, Get well soon man
You're doing amazing things in this world! Don't ever stop! Stay Blessed!
Thank you so much!
Great share, thanks pal.
Thanks for the visit
Huge respect to speak about your vulnerability so open! I wish you the best recovery! Can really relate to that, had serious back prblems and surgery last year but been fully back now. I think you never really think about these things until the moment the happen to you. I had the worst problems when I just go the ok for 3 big project but similar to you I needed to learn how I could communicate and outsource work so that I could still do the production an editing. Hope you get well soon!
Thank you for sharing
These wheels are pretty interesting, thanks for sharing these insights with us and much love from Germany!
My pleasure!
Thank you for sharing the experience, really inspiring, hope you recover soon🤞🏻
Thank you so much!
Get well soon, all the best ♥
Rest up brother and take care of yourself! Rarely in life do we have excuses to sit back and slow down. The world will still be here for you.
Thanks man
Man I appreciate you making this video. Broke my arm in 2021 and was out of cinematography work for 8 weeks. It truly was a mental game, and I relate strongly to what you're going through. Stay strong dude
Thank you for sharin
Everything you do have a huge impact on me, I like your journey and how you achieve some of your own goal, keep being yourself in your videos and keep sharing this type of different things with us! It's really important for us even if you can't notice it, I hope you get well soon, Stay strong 💪
Thank you so much!!
First I tear my ACL at the start of the year, Andres Vidoza breaks his leg, and now you break your leg???? 2024 is for creative mental strength! GOOD LUCK ON THE RECOVERY. I hope you keep your head up brother, film the process, get deep into it, and come back stronger than you could of ever imagined!
Oooo rough! Well all recover!
Hope you will get better soon bro
Oh man, have been there. Wishing you a quick recovery.
Thank you!
Hey man, wanted to say thank you for making this video, wish it was around two years ago. I broke my foot and had about 8 weeks to recover. During this time I had struggled tremendously mentally as this meant that I had lost out on a major job due to this. It was so defeating and I admittedly got so stuck in my head about it. I wish I had taken more time to improve my skills in other ways during this time. Beyond happy you were able to get on set still with the wheelchair!
Thank you for sharing!
So good to see you're turning unlucky incident into valuable leaning opportunity. Wish you Speed recovery and for a strong comeback ❤️
Thanks!
Adversity creates some of our best work! Can’t wait to see you healed up and back at it :)
Love you
I know this too well. My career got put on hold after I contracted mold toxicity from black mold in my home. Doctors didn't know what was wrong with me, had to sell my house and move into a brand-new apartment. It could be months, or a year until I recover. I am trying to stay positive but it's sometimes hard to see hope when you are in the storm. I got an email from Jake Viramontez that I cried about, changed my outlook on everything. Sometimes you just need one positive thing to happen that you can hold onto through the struggle. I hope your leg heals well man. Always love what you have to say. Peace.
Ahh love Jake! Thanks for sharing
quick recovery bro
Thank you
I bet recording this was an effort. Appreciate the video
Hahaha yeah it was a thing for sure
