      From my understanding in reviewing comments on Armorlites social media accounts the full trunk cover system has been requested and they are looking into that as a future product offering. I will personally be keeping an eye out for that as well!

    Great video. Any update on how the floor is holding up. Also what if you have a leak coming from the pillers and going under the stock carpet, it would still go under the Armorlite I'm assuming.

    • @VictorVectorJKU
      @VictorVectorJKU  4 роки тому +2

      Hey there Frank, thank you for checking out my channel and videos! I actually installed their new color Desert Khaki about a month after installing the Mesa Smoke color, and that has been in for about a month as well. But both have been very durable and are holding up very well. I do have a few leaks from my soft top that come down the A-Pillars and the bottom center of the rear doors. The Armorlite floor system wraps under the edge of the tub where the doors are so from what I have seen is the water does not get underneath but will land on top of the liner and roll to the drain plugs. The carpet is a more porous mat with the carpet fibers stitched through which allows for water to pass through where the thermoplastic top layer is waterproof so water cannot pass through it, granted if you submerge the Jeep then water can flow over the edges of the liner and get underneath. I do have a couple more videos on washing, removing and review of the Mesa Smoke along with a second install of the Desert Khaki with a few tips and tricks if you haven’t checked them out! Let me know if you want any other specifics on the liner! 🙂

I deviated from the instructions and found installing under the front seats first then the rear to be easier! Also is it warm where you are? If the liners are warmer it makes the install much easier too!

    Looks like you did this installed 2 years ago? What are you thoughts - review of the Armorlite floor system today? Still holding up good? Would you still recommend them? I currently have the factory carpet with weather tech floor mats in my 2010 Jeep Wrangler. Was going to replace the factor carpet with a carpet kit and came across the Armorlite while searching install videos. Now I need to know about these!
    Thank you for your time and great install video. Kelly!

    • @VictorVectorJKU
      @VictorVectorJKU  Рік тому

      Hey there Kelly, thanks for checking out my video! Yes I have been running it for about 2 years now! The material is still in extremely good shape, the thermoplastic top good is very durable! I definitely recommend it, and it does have potential to allow water under it around the seat legs and where the front and rear portions overlap. For me this has not been an issue even living in Washington with a good amount of rain. Some of the best attributes are the quick cleaning, sound deadening, and thermal insulating properties in addition to the clean look that is way better than the factory carpet! Definitely let me know if you have any specific questions and I will get back to you!

    Just got mine yesterday that I ordered during their Labor Day promotion & just finishing up install. Well made, good quality...my one & only issue with Armorlite is their fake promotions. Every holiday they offer 20% off but they hike the price up for the sale & drop it back down after...so in actuality there's no sale, just playing the number game. That deceit taints the image of the brand imo. Just be honest & let the product speak for itself instead of fudging numbers to give the illusion like you're getting a deal.

    • @VictorVectorJKU
      @VictorVectorJKU  4 роки тому

      Good deal! I hope you enjoy it like I have! And yeah I think companies across the board play with their retail versus sale prices. I personally noticed that the sale price for the armorlite system was supposed to only be for their launch month but extended almost 5-6 months after launch. Idk tho, interesting if that is what they have done recently, I have not tracked their prices.

      Great install video!
      I’m curious, as most jeeps have that pesky leak whether the upper or lower corner of the door will the water get in between the floor boards and the insulation under the mat?
      Or will this product just allow ponding on the top of the mat itself for easy clean up?
      I want to get rid of the carpet and get this product but not if I’m removing this product just to shop vac the water as I’m already doing with the carpet.
      And yes, I’ve been trying to solve the leak issue

    This system is extremely difficult to install. Not anywhere easy as shown. The flooring is extremely stiff and does not bend as easily as shown. The rear cargo area mat does not cover the carpet fully. Weather tech mat is much better for rear cargo area.

    • @VictorVectorJKU
      @VictorVectorJKU  2 роки тому

      I’m sorry you had a much more difficult install, I promise it was not my intent to make it look easier. I am curious if you did your install on a warm or cool day? The day I installed mine were very warm and they were in the sun prior to the install which makes it easier. You are also correct that the rear cargo mat does not replace or cover the carpet entirely in the rear but is better than the factory mat! Also Armorlite now has the wheel well system which will cover more! I appreciate you checking out my video and the feedback Cynthia!

  • @michaelgee7509
    @michaelgee7509 2 роки тому

    Great video. I have Dynamat through almost all of my Jeep bed. After installing, do you believe this would work if I have Dynamat, and dynapad sound deadening (basically extra insulation below the existing carpet) installed? Or is it too tight?

    • @VictorVectorJKU
      @VictorVectorJKU  2 роки тому

      Hey there Michael, thanks for checking out my video! So I am not familiar with the dynamat and dynapad from personal experience. I looked them both up however and found their thickness to be 1/16” and 3/8” thickness respectively so you are looking at 7/16” or just under 1/2” for thickness of the two combined.
      In an attempt to ensure I do not mislead you, I have copied a question from Armorlites FAQ section based on a spray in liner.
      Will the Armorlite product fit over a spray-in-liner?
      In most cases, yes. The Armorlite flooring is designed to follow the factory sheet metal surface, but if the spray-in-liner is a heavy/dense material, there would be a risk of poor fit for the Armorlite floor.
      So being that you have nearly a 1/2” of padding you could see an issue with the fit. I expect the biggest issue you would have would be the depth of the drain plug and for that to fully seal to the sheet metal floor as well as the interior trim pieces not seating as they should. Otherwise I would think the flooring would be an ok fit. Now I would recommend giving armorlite a call and get their feedback directly! I should be on a call with them in a day or two so if I can get feedback on this I will reply that additionally below!

    • @VictorVectorJKU
      @VictorVectorJKU  3 роки тому +1

      Hey thanks for checking out my video Brandon! I am sorry to hear your disappointment and you have made a fair argument and observation. These are actually similar fears I had when I first ordered the mess smoke kit! However from what I have observed so far, and note living in Washington and having been on slaughter by wet weather for the past 3 months, I have not seen any issues with the minimal amount of water that may have gotten under the floor system. I do not see longer defrost times in the morning to clear interior moisture, I have not noticed any smells, and the system does not have a spongey feel like the polyester underlayment has absorbed water. My Jeep does have plenty of leaks which typically land on top of the liner but I am sure water gets under it too. Now granted I do not go through deep water crossings or mud holes that water is above the base of the door so I do not see that kind of water intrusion possibility. I hope you find this feedback and insight helpful, let me know if you have further questions!

      @@VictorVectorJKU that’s good to know. I have such a leaky 2008 that I would just be fighting what I did with my carpet. What about the rear cargo area? Is there a section for that too? Do you think this is a better option than a spray-in liner?

    • @VictorVectorJKU
      @VictorVectorJKU  3 роки тому

      Hey there Richard, thanks for checking out my video! I did not order the cargo liner they offer for the JKU when I got this kit but I do cover that on my Desert Khaki install video! It is just a liner similar to others out there that sit on top of the carpet for the cargo area.
      As for is this a better option, there are a few factors to weigh based on what you are looking for.
      Pros of Armorlite:
      - increased thermal and acoustic insulation for a quieter and more stable temperature in the cabin
      - better than factory fit and appearance over the carpet
      - pass through drain system and easy to clean and rinse out
      - durable and mold resistant
      - easy install no tools needed and not necessary to disassemble the interior
      - can be removed and cleaned outside of the Jeep
      Cons of Armorlite:
      - water can get under the liner, I have not had an issue with any small amounts of water under the liner
      Pros of bed liner:
      - nothing for water to get under, as long as the liner is applied well
      - nice appearance over painted sheet metal
      - added layer of protection to the sheet metal
      Cons of bed liner:
      - expect more noise and heat in the cabin than with carpet, might reduce over bare sheet metal
      - interior disassembly required
      - Very difficult to remove if you decide you don’t like it or get a new Jeep (same model)
      My personal opinion for what I value and was looking for; thermal and acoustic dampening, washable, durable, removable, drainable, and attractive hit all the boxes I was interested in and I was willing to deal with a little water getting under the liner if that happens. So I would say for me I love the Armorlite floor liner and would choose this over a bed liner application for the purpose of my Jeep!
