  • Should you remove the carpet from your jeep.
    Having a jeep can be dirty work, would it be better just to remove the carpet or just keep it clean?
    In this video we talk about removing the carpet from the inside of your Jeep Wrangler and we go over some the pros and cons of having carpet and not having carpet in your Jeep Wrangler, a lot of people will remove the carpet from there jeep to make cleaning so mush easier after going on a 4 wheel driving trip but it all deeps on how you are going to use your 4x4/ jeep and what kind of 4x4work you will be doing..
    Let me know what your thoughts are about removing the carpet from your Jeep Wrangler in the comments.

    Yes my Jeep is 20 years old and the floor is rusted by the carpet. Jeeps are cool because the interior is the same color as the exterior. My Jeep is yellow and looks amazing inside with no carpet.

      Nice, hopefully it is not to much rust, yeah that is so true, it follows really nicely

    I guess it’s nice since it’s fairly easy to take it out and put it it back in depending on what you’re doing

      Yeah definitely and because it’s a easy space to work with you can always make up a new floor etc depending on what you need.

    Herculining the interior of my YJ tub is one of the best things I ever did for it. I *never* have to worry about dirt of any kind, nor the odd solvent spill (think of taking a bunch of five gallon cans to the gas station). I can hose it out any time.
    I kept the carpet so that if I ever wanted to I could Velcro it down on top of the Herculiner. But that carpet has been in my attic so long that I doubt it's still usable.
    Incidentally it gets pretty cold where I am, but the copper/brass heater core in my YJ does so well that carpet isn't much of a factor. I have no problem driving round with the soft top on at -30°.

      KC9UDX nice, hahahahaha that’s definitely one of the biggest advantages of not having carpet. Would be interesting to pull it out and have a look. That’s the Jeep life, sounds perfect 👌

    • @KC9UDX

      @@tomasgarcia6547 the heat is amazing. The noise is, well, I'm not sure if it's different or not. But the thin carpet that came with my YJ didn't do much for that. Plus, between the tyres and exhaust, my YJ is too loud to do much about it anyway.

    This is why I am purchasing the Armorlite system. Washable and has a sound heat barrier system. Definitely worth the investment I simply can't do carpet anymore to much work and it gets wet game over. The smell alone plus mold no thank you.

      @Whiteandsonsgarage  3 роки тому

      Nice, that sounds really good, thanks for letting me know, nothing worse than wet carpet. I will definitely be having a look at that. Thanks

      Exactly. I have German shepherds, after a few trips with them a d the sand from beaches. Dust and mud in the trails, it would take me hours to get it clean. I pulled it out. Put armorlite, 15 min and it's done, plus it's quieter. And less heat. And they use recycled materials 20% but they are going to use more in the future.

  • @Jim_woods

    You can line it and have carpet its quieter and temps are nicer and its easy to remove and hose off

  • @TheSporeboy

    I never saw a Jeep with carpet until I bought a 2003 Wrangler. Previous 4 wheel drive vehicles I had driven were either bare metal or rubber/vinyl flooring, so one could wash out the constant mud and dog vomit. I still have the Wrangler but no dogs. After all these years, the carpet is about as nasty as can be imagined. It has got to go. Carpet in a Jeep just seems like a really dumb idea.

  • @dudeandthebear.6475

    My solution has been to have rubber mats (with a deep tread pattern) everywhere in the Jeep. - then, after a beach trip, we just pull the mats out and hose THEM down. there's still a little sand that gets on to the carpet, but nothing a little vacuum cant handle. If I cared. I don't actually care that much. I (try to) keep the front clean and the back seat nice for occasional passengers, but the back - that's kind of MY territory. It's more about organizing back there (especially now that I'm shoving everything above the roll bar ha ha), and the big ol' rubber mat takes care of everything else. SO, for me, it's carpets IN.

    No to removing carpet, unless you have a dog apparently. But my TJ didn't come with carpet. They badly spray lined it but had really nice rubber floor mats. Well one thing I noticed was that it was so loud and hot inside. I eventually installed the stick down sound deadener along the transmission tunnel and back floor, then carpeted the back half of the TJ floor. The noise and heat went down significantly. I still want to carpet the front and may just buy the bedrug for the front install. Anyone that rode in it before and after really noticed the difference. I can even have a conversation in the Jeep now. Don't get me wrong, it's still a TJ and loud, but the decimals went down enough to make it more comfortable for myself and passengers.

    • @Whiteandsonsgarage
      @Whiteandsonsgarage  4 роки тому

      gigasipke yeah I think keeping it will be the best thing to do, must be a tj thing, anything to make driving a little bit better. Would you go with the Bedrug? I have heard good things about them. Thanks mate
