قال : كان للمأمون - وهو أمير إذ ذاك - مجلس نظر ، فدخل في جملة الناس رجل يهودي حسن الثوب حسن الوجه طيب الرائحة ، قال : فتكلم فأحسن الكلام والعبارة ، قال : فلما تقوض المجلس دعاه المأمون فقال له : إسرائيلي ؟ قال نعم . قال له : أسلم حتى أفعل بك وأصنع ، ووعده . فقال : ديني ودين آبائي ! وانصرف . قال : فلما كان بعد سنة جاءنا مسلما ، قال : فتكلم على الفقه فأحسن الكلام ; فلما تقوض المجلس دعاه المأمون وقال : ألست صاحبنا بالأمس ؟ قال له : بلى . قال : فما كان سبب إسلامك ؟ قال : انصرفت من حضرتك فأحببت أن أمتحن هذه الأديان ، وأنت تراني حسن الخط ، فعمدت إلى التوراة فكتبت ثلاث نسخ فزدت فيها ونقصت ، وأدخلتها الكنيسة فاشتريت مني ، وعمدت إلى الإنجيل فكتبت ثلاث نسخ فزدت فيها ونقصت ، وأدخلتها البيعة فاشتريت مني ، وعمدت إلى القرآن فعملت ثلاث نسخ وزدت فيها ونقصت ، وأدخلتها الوراقين فتصفحوها ، فلما أن وجدوا فيها الزيادة والنقصان رموا بها فلم يشتروها ; فعلمت أن هذا كتاب محفوظ ، فكان هذا سبب إسلامي .

I have a question, a salafi uploaded a video of Habib al jifri of doing shirk where he was singing al madad ya Rasulullah madad madad ya Maulana ya hussain.... What do you say about Habib Ali jifri and umar bin hafiz? both are shafis in fiqh... Wahabis declared habib ali jifr to be mushrik, also is Saeed al fodeh good aalim?

Many of the Sufis differ from the Salafis in aleaqida, such as the attributes of the Creator and the difference between monotheism and polytheism.
There is no such thing as Wahhabism.

Imam Hanafi is one of the Muslim scholars and the same eaqidah as the Salafis.
But the Sufis believe in the jurisprudence of Imam al-Hanafi, but they disagree with him regarding the eaqidah

Regarding the action recorded of Habib Ali al-Jifri saying, “Al-madad ya Rasulullah, madad madad ya Maulana ya Hussain,” this is an act of shirk. A person who commits such an act is considered a mushrik if the evidence that this action is haram has reached them. However, applying this ruling to a specific individual, such as Habib Ali al-Jifri, requires a qualified mufti who is familiar with his situation and whether he has been exposed to the evidence or has fallen into shubha (doubt) or ta’wil (interpretation). Therefore, I am not in a qualified to declare him specifically as a mushrik.
Asking for something from other than Allah, especially when the one being asked is not present, is an act of shirk. The ruling on this action is clear, but attributing it to a specific individual needs careful judgment by those qualified to do so looking at the conditions of such a ruling and preventative factors.
Regarding Saeed Fauda, he has gained a following among modern Ash’aris, and he may have some merit in areas like fiqh or hadith. However, his stance on ’aqidah (creed) is deviant. He misconstrues many arguments of Ibn Taymiyyah and makes errors in his understanding of ‘ilm al-kalam (Islamic theology). Many have exposed his inconsistencies, even within the Ash’ari madhhab. Thus, while he may have scholarly credentials in some fields, he is deviant regarding his positions on ’aqidah, especially due to his baseless opposition to Ibn Taymiyyah and misrepresentation of issues, which undermines the trustworthiness of knowledge (amanat al-ilm).
