  • Multipath, a Lego Great Ball Contraption module. This module was built as a utility module to split the flow of balls into two separate paths. This module uses a stepper and a vertical sweeper to move the balls to the output ramps. It is powered by a Lego Power Functions M motor. You can also set either output to recirculate if necessary.

    Thank you for this video, it helped so much! Frans Labuschagne from the South African Lego User Group (zaLUG) built this module for the 2019 South African Brickfair GBC circuit. It worked well to split the balls to the two Akiyuki catch and spin robots modules he built.

      I was surprised to see it in that layout! I'm glad it worked for you!

    Very elegant design, clever syncing the sweeper to the lifting part.

    I like that it gives an even split (assuming ample supply) while delivering batches which are less likely to make either side dry up.

    Great job , I have seen similar modules but they use the expensive servo motor so it's nice the you did it with just a standard m motor .

      Thank you! The motor is straining a bit so I might switch to an L motor.

    I built a similar module but I like that you added a stepper to regulate the flow of the balls!

    Nice! I like how you can use it to split the path, that is always quite helpful.

    I find the crank and gears which do the back and forth motion of the sweeper fascinating. Does it ever get "stuck" at the changeover point?

      @@GreatBallPit if you have track links that are worn loose and don't stay together good they are perfect for this use and they also can do a tighter radius with out putting large strain in them

    Isn't the output way to fast with both rapms going to one module?

    • @GreatBallPit
      @GreatBallPit  5 років тому +1

      I don't think I would run both ramps into one module, I would leave one recirculating. In this video I'm running the module at speed 4 of 6.
