    Since I referenced EatSleepReef's video so frequently, it only makes sense that I share it here! 🤓 Here is the Marco Cement video that I kept referring to: ua-cam.com/video/DcA7mDLsMnw/v-deo.html, check it out for more details and tips! Antonio also shares a lot of nice reefing tips and hacks, one of my favorite reefing channel! 👍

    There's usually a little tab on those bucket lids that can be grabbed with a pair of pliers and pulled to peel off a strip around the bottom of the lid, which makes the lid significantly easier to take off.

    I was thinking that once corals grow out on the arch it may create a sail effect and flow could push it over. Getting the base spread out more would be a great idea. I frickin love it!!! Awesome job!!!

    Would have put a rod through those top shelf rocks. Because if it breaks off as you add corals could come crashing down and break bottom of tank, no? Hope that’s not possible. Structure and scape is definately interesting.

    I have a question, iv been aquascaping for a few days now I’m using aquaforest stone fix cement and the water Iv been using is tap water, do you thing it’s a problem as it’s tap water I’m mixing into the cement?

  • @Helveteshit
    @Helveteshit 4 роки тому +1

    @Inappropriate Reefer, it is not that I question the quality of your mortar. But I feel like that ambitious arch may need some extra reinforcement in the form of chicken net or 'smaller rebar'. Just to give it that extra sense of safety. But hey, I am no expert.

    • @InappropriateReefer
      @InappropriateReefer  4 роки тому

      Hey thanks for the recommendation, I may reinforce the arch with a bit more cement before it goes into the tank... I'm not as nervous about that part breaking off in tank though since I have sand bottom, if I have barebottom, I'd probably be singing a different tune and probably have acrylic rods drilled into the rock!

    Nice job creates good depth and allows flow. Just a warning pending how long you an on keeping the tank up but pays and other fast spreading corals will need a lot of pruning. Good job. I used the Aquaforest stone fix same stuff basically. An idea you could do is make molds of the e-macro cement in ice trays and stick them to the bottom of the scape to sit flush on the glass and give you some more height so your arch isnt as sunken in the sand as you mentioned. I did that. I got the idea from @cjsaquarium.

    The bucket lid has those little slits on the side for a reason. That’s where you stick a flathead screwdriver at a 45* angle in and and pry downward breaking each and everyone of those slit’s. Then pry up with your hand on the sides of the lid. Easy peasy! I cringed the entire time watching this guy get the lid off.

    nice scape! btw whoever said the joint is harder than the rock itself - ya that's BS. it's strong, but not THAT strong. and i wouldn't worry about beautifying joints by 'hiding them on the backside' or covering them with smaller pieces. after a years worth of coralline and coral growth, you can't even see your rocks ;)

  • @StNovaSt

    If you want to hide those joints I suggest rubbing super glue on them and taking a handful of dry sand and smushing it all over it. Should almost disappear after that.
