Interesting to the hear the woman at the beginning talk about a hypothetical life as a housewife. I take care of my toddler, a special needs family member, clean the house - mopping, toilets, showers, grout etc, take care of foster rescue cats, work from home part time in the evenings and I also sell things online. All my daily clothes are from goodwill, I shop in bulk/coupons/markdowns, I cook or heat food every night. Besides one special occasion, it may have been over a year since our family went to a sit down restaurant. With our pets and fosters, I clean three litter boxes every day - this will change when the fosters get adopted out. We go to the public library frequently and take walks. I do not get my nails done, no lashes, I get a wash and cut and leave the salon with wet hair. I drive a 10 year old Honda minivan. I am very happy and fulfilled with my life, however I essentially work 12 hours a day. I will say that there is much less mental stress outside of the corporate world, however I do have much much less leisure time. I would encourage people to be realistic about family life, it often involves compromises and is often sweet but not IG ready.
This!! I'm sure it’s so much work! I’m at the age where people are asking me about children and when I'm going to have them, and while I love kids, I don't plan to bc I’m chronically ill and my early job experiences were in childcare so I know how much labor goes into caring for children. I'm not confident I could provide that consistently with my health. I'm gonna be an awesome aunt for my family and friends’ kids but I would only feel comfortable taking on the responsibility of having my own under specific circumstances
LOL. I watch them to keep myself focused on the grind. My wife and I are in excellent financial shape but we still live on well less than what we earn. I just shake my head when I see some of these people driving cars way more expensive than what I drive and are making 1/3rd of our income.
Bad with math/numbers is NOT equal to bad with money, my mother only finished second grade in Vietnam, she migrated over here when she was 41 and that was the first time she heard about credit card yet from then on even working just minimum pay jobs, she still try to save money every month, never borrow or buy anything she can't afford to pay yet, when she first able to get an apartment, we were sleeping on the floor with just one cheap mattress, she could have buy more stuff using credit card and she had a credit card then, but she didn't cause "it's not an emergency" I got my frugal habit from her 😂
When he specifically asked her how any of it worked, she got stumped. She's more obsessed with portraying herself to live in the real world. She kept saying that her parents should cut her off, but she doesn't really mean it. She just knows she's entitled and spoiled
It's because she knows how lucky she is and deep down feels like she doesn't deserve it. She's settled on a political position out of self-hatred. MANY such cases.
The lady that wants to be a house wife has no idea how hard it is to be a good one. My mother took care of everything in the house that freed up my dad to give his 100% to the business. My father never bought any groceries or cared how I or my sister were doing in school, not because he didn't care, but because both of us did really well because my mom was always there to look over us. Both of us are doing really well in life because of the attention our mother gave us and the financial stability my father has given us. My mother bought gifts for every wedding we went to or for every holiday. Planning every function we had at our house or keeping up with our relatives and friends. Being a good house wife is a lot of work. Women like her enrage me because they are disrespecting hard working house wives like my mother.

I rescued my 2 dogs in 2011 and 2012. They are the best dogs and have grown with our kids. We paid $50 for each. $6000 for a dog is mind boggling! There are so many dogs in shelters that need homes!
Man, let me tell you about prices on dogs and what people are willing to pay. In my early 20's i took a break from working as a vet tech and became a kennel manager at a Petland. We had a french bulldog come in, the owners of the store set the cost at almost $11,000. I laughed and told them it would never sell. I left that night and came back the next day and someone had FINANCED the $11,000 for a DOG at 15.6%. I dont mind people who want to buy a dog. Ive worked at shelters as a surgery tech, ive worked at low-income surgery centers (generally non-profits), and i paid $2,000 for my German Shepherd, Odin. Hes a service dog and i have his pedigree. I never understood someone spending more than a couple thousand MAX for a dog.

As someone who went through the immigration process, I think that guys story is legit. It costs me like 3500 for lawyer fees alone plus the actual application fee. Trying to do the process by yourself is cheaper sure, but way more prone to filing paperwork incorrectly
Yes, I commented this elsewhere! When my mom got her citizenship, she paid the lawyer 7k because she also had to appear before a judge. She had used a fake SS to work for years under a different name, and the judge had to make a ruling on that before giving her a decision on her application for residency. Thankfully, the judge ruled that, given her situation, using someone else's SS was a necessity for survival. It helped that she never got arrested and never took out loans on that SS and also paid her taxes. 7k is a lot, but it was worth it. For me, it was about 5k. But I also had to travel down to Mexico and go to a consulate. We had to be there for about a week, so in the end, it was also around 6 to 7k with the hotel and airline. Something I've learned from the whole experience and later working for a local police office - immigration knows when someone is illegal - by the time taxes come around, they know who isn't filing and fits the profile or who double filed and likely has someone else using their SS. However, immigration isn't likely to kick you out unless there's some political reason for it (making a show out of mass deporting) or you get put on a list and immigration wants you out. The latter usually happens if you've commited a felony, are a repeat DUI offender, suspected of ties to the cartel, or something along those lines.
@piecebypiece2028 super interesting comment! I'm so happy for you and your mom for getting through it successfully. And I agree it's worth it. I think this country is so wonderful despite its flaws. No one is more grateful to live in the USA than a legal immigrant (I'm also from Mexico) I went through all of my education career here and went to college for engineering and still didn't have a clear path until I married my wonderful husband. No crimes ever, not even a speeding ticket. Despite popular belief, it's actually very difficult to immigrate to the US (or at least it was years ago). I do think we should focus on tracking down serious criminals and get them out but leave people who are contributing through employment or getting educated here on tax payer dollars a clear path to at least legal residence so we can contribute our part to this country too through taxes
Actually, the guy with a China girlfriend... it's very easy to go to China. He could be spouse, family, or lol, just go as an English teacher. 500 bucks and any Ba degree gets you in. Been there done it.
I’ve been a dog groomer for almost 25 years and when I watched that video of Caleb’s where she paid $6000 for that dog, I immediately knew it was either a Frenchie or some sort of doodle mix which is a “designer hybrid “ dog that cost thousands of dollars and both have become ridiculously trendy amongst people who are Instagram influencers or celebrities so then everybody wants one. The irony is they’re basically spending a ton of money for a mutt who will statistically have more health problems than average so thereby be more expensive to own and even pet insurance is higher for them. For a MIXED BREED. These mutts (yes even the Merle Frenchies are mutts because the Merle gene creating the spotted coat is not naturally occurring in the French bulldog breed and we won’t even talk about how some of them have to have c-sections or be artificially inseminated due to physical limitations) frequently come with a lot of genetic behavioral problems as well as physical health problems. Some of them are just regular dogs that have a regular issues, but in All my years of grooming, some of the most ill mannered, unhealthy or psychotic dogs are the doodles and doodle mixes. Some of the sweetest ones are doodles too, but I still wouldn’t pay $3000 to 8k for one which is legitimately what some people pay as evidenced here by that chick with no brain cells.
Max I would pay is about 1k. I bought my male Corgi for 1.2k and my female for 600. If someone really wants a purebred dog from a reputable breeder at a discount, just wait a little bit. By the time puppies are 3 months old, the breeder is a lot more willing to come down on the price for you. This is an even better tip around January, because buying puppies around Christmas is (unfortunately) super popular. Is it more noble to adopt from a shelter? Of course - i have 2 shelter dogs as well and love them to pieces. But I also don't think people are monsters for wanting pure bred puppies from a reliable source or even designer ones (unless you're getting pugs, those are just inhumane).
I don’t think hers is a mix, though. I think she’s a wirehaired pointing griffon, which are not common in the US. I used to show dogs, and the only time I remember seeing one was at a shopping center in my town a few years back. It was quite a treat for a dog nut.
@ it’s possible she bought a rare breed but I have 2 Berger Picard’s and my puppy was co-bred by the breeder with the top winning BP in the nation, multiple of her dogs have been to Westminster and won best of breed there along with many of her puppies holding titles in other arenas plus all appropriate health testing and showing for conformation and she charges $3500 or less for her puppies and they gave me his mom for free at 4 years old because they wanted to find a good pet home for her instead of a performance home. Generally whenever I’ve seen the puppies getting up into the 6k+ range and it’s not being bought with a breeding contract, they’re frequently more on the money grab, hybrid designer breed side of things but anything is possible and I’m sure some rare breeders charge more. I also feel like I heard her say it was some sort of mix but I could be misremembering because it’s been a while since I watched the original video the clip is from.

As a non American, is the whole financial system of ths USA built around debt and credit cards? I can't even fathom how it works. Here you spend what you can afford. My only debt is my phone, which is like 200 euros
The $6000 dog is not a purebred dog - she’s a poodle mix. Luxury dog breeds are the new Mercedes CLA. People pay top dollar for the doodle. Depending on the area and how “designer” the breed is, you could easily pay more. Long-hair French bulldogs (the dog equivalent of a long furby) run about $10000+. People go into debt for the dog and then can’t afford basic medical or grooming care, let alone an emergency for the living, breathing animal they’re now responsible for. Also, she’s lucky the albuterol toxicity only cost $2000 where she lives. That’d be at least $4-5000 at the ER I used to work at, without complications 🙃
I don’t think she’s a doodle. I’m almost positive she’s a wirehaired pointing griffon. Like a German wirehaired pointer, if you’ve seen one, but scruffier. They’re not very common in the US, so that could be the reason for the cost. $6k for a crossbreed is ridiculous, regardless of whether you sell it as designer or not, especially since I don’t think they’re using quality breeding stock based on the fact that responsible breeders are vehemently against the practice.
My dog is a mutt, $25 and he's the smartest coolest nicest dog I've ever met. It's the time, love, and respect you put into your relationship with them that matters, you can't just buy a perfect dog. I feel sorry for these dogs with owners who think they can buy what takes time and caring to cultivate. Not the dogs fault.

These kinds of videos have raised my standards for finances. I know a lot of people who live like the people in the videos, and I thought I was “good with money” because I paid my bills, but after running the numbers on what I will need to retire, and seeing older family members be in tough shape after 60, I definitely feel the need to do better.
A family friend of mine spent £1.8k on a cat, only to give it away a year later. The cat was an Egyptian Mau and was used to travelling very far distances. It would jump out of a window, run away for a few days, and would be found at a vet on the other side of the city. They were spending a few hundred every month just picking the cat up for the vet (they charge them for minor injury treatment the cat got while out). In no way was this cat ever meant to be living in a busy city, or cooped up in a small home while the owners were at work. They gave the cat away to a farmer with acres of land for her to run through for about £900.
The unnecessary spending is so preventable. So many put it on the card and not factoring the interest if they can’t pay it in full. They spend so much, the debt continues to climb. The motto I continue is a man with no bills is a rich man
Bought my older (2016) “luxury” car on Facebook for 7k. Tbh if you can avoid dealerships and just hire a mechanic to look over a car before you buy it, you can get cars pretty cheap. It’s been a few years with no issues and I’ve already spent far less than the average car note.

All this financial ignorance it sounds like a personality trait to me. 23:53. I work in the beauty industry - doing lasers and skin treatments and hair restoration and the comment about Cherry is true because my office offers it too but people RARELY will take them on because they’re seeing the insanely high interest rates - the people who would take the loan on are people that have been denied from qualifying. So yes it’s a thing but at least where I’m at people don’t utilize it- but my office also offers zero interest in-house payments to break up the payments across a few monthly payments so maybe that’s why they’ll choose that instead idk.

I don’t think we talk enough about both how hard of a job being an UA-cam/Social Media personality is and also how hard it is on someone’s mental health. Work/Life balance is nonexistent, at any moment you can go online and see people wishing death upon you, and you have to keep generating content to appease the algorithm and maintain relevance. It’s like being a celebrity on crack because most of them don’t even have as big of a team as celebrities have (not to say being a traditional celebrity is easy either). I think it’s one of those things where people think they can just make what inspires them and have lots of free time to party or relax but afaik that’s absolutely not the case. You’re working or networking constantly. Who can live like that.

What is shocking most of these folks will blame and hate on the rich or those who are successful. They will say their lot in life is unfair. Heard theologians who say show me your checkbook, (obviously old statement), and I will show you where your heart is. Majority of folks dont want to make the hard, boring but necessary financial decisions.
I really struggle to watch people who are this stupid. To say they don’t think it’s bad to owe $14k on a car worth $8. Does he not realise that means he owes $6k more than it’s worth? It is already crazy to me that it seems to be “the norm” to have cars on finance. I’m 43 and I’ve never once taken a car on finance. Our cheapest car was £600 and the highest was £10,000. I’ve always bought what I can afford and am happy to say I have zero debt. The amount of money that some people owe would have me living in a constant state on anxiety.
My country has something similar to cherry loans! Basically a bunch of people who don't even know each other get together and they go to a bank or credit union and request a very high consumer credit. With the very high interests these loans usually have. Since nobody knows each other in the group, it usually goes as well as you would expect.

Truth. The dog I adopted from a shelter was the best one I've ever had. RIP Caesar.
I got two through a rescue. Paid $400 each, which isn’t cheap, but it was more of a donation so the rescue could continue doing the work that they do. Don’t regret the decision one bit.
My covid dog (adopted in 2020 because I was lonely) was free. He's been a wonderful companion, already knew some commands and doesn't bark at the door or strangers. Best decision

I rescued my 2 dogs in 2011 and 2012. They are the best dogs and have grown with our kids. We paid $50 for each. $6000 for a dog is mind boggling! There are so many dogs in shelters that need homes!
The problem is that a lot of people seem to base financial decisions on the theory they will find a suitcase full of cash somewhere.
You ain’t kidding! Their retirement plan seems to be “I just know I’m gonna hit the Powerball someday!”

With 2024 prices it's more like 6000 now
@@June_Yue Jesus Christ that sucks 😞
No one is more grateful to live in the USA than a legal immigrant (I'm also from Mexico)
I went through all of my education career here and went to college for engineering and still didn't have a clear path until I married my wonderful husband.

Exactly. BOTH of my dogs(australian kelpie and a border collie) cost a lot less than that dog.
They offloaded an ongoing liability AND got back half of their initial outlay? Sounds like a win for them to me.

@markandrewkoval8920 ah ok. Thank you for explaining that. So what I'm hearing from you and the previous commenter, taquitos means "gas station or express stop food"?
And to clarify - where I live, there's a very large LA population, so when I/We hear "taquitos" we interpret that as "those paper bags of awesome Mexican rolls we rarely get that are $4 - $5, per." So, it's a little confusing.
Dang, I guess I never noticed them saying taquitos. I’ve seen people mentioning “taquerias” which is a taco shop. Which is a huge thing in Austin/Texas

Gen Z will argue and argue and argue to wear smarter, good-Samaritan, best-intentions people down, then play the victim. I don't anymore. No giving, no understanding, no advice, no empathy, no support, no employment, no engagement. They kNOw best! Shrug shoulders - done.
I’m so glad my content consumption is satisfied by youtube and twitch. There’s so much stuff I like for free, it’s great.
A smart person learns from their mistakes but a wise person learns from those of others. The wisest watch Caleb Hammer and Zac Rios.
Just started watching and honestly I'm glad I found you when I did. I'm still in uni and i'm lucky enough to have my parents paying for a lot right now, but it's giving me more confidence in preparing for when i start taking everything on and saving for my future. I'm getting a job in the spring and I'm going to be putting it towards savings.
I used to like watching Caleb Hammer but now it just feels like every guest is just there in the hope of going viral.
Yep. When he yells at some ppl these days, you can tell that he knows this and is ticked off that they're not taking things seriously.
First clip in and I'm already angry.
This is gonna be a great vid! 😂
When my family got our previous dog from a breeder, she was around $600. And she was a pure breed.
I've always been very good with money but these videos motivate me to be even more stingey.
Really not liking how the term “housewife” is being used in a derogatory way. She has no idea how much work it is and men seem to think it’s just “doing nothing.” Alarming on all sides, wouldn’t want to be involved with any of yall lol
61 year old guy in UK. A comment you made the other day on one of your videos made so much sense - so simple (following a video with a girl with 60+ pairs of shoes). I have 30+ pairs including my prized Guccis 😉 - reality is I can only wear each pair 10 days in a year. That’s mad but so true. Made me realize I don’t need to keep buying ‘stuff’ 👍
🙄🙄🙄 Caleb nails it every time. Thanks for sharing. 🤣
When I was a kid, I wanted to be a ninja and master spinjitzu💀
8:19 there are elementary teachers in my state that don’t teach math in their class because “they’re not good at numbers”. I’m just not surprised this is where we’re at as a society because those quotes were from an over a decade ago, and now more and more teachers say it.
I dont believe you.
People view credit cards as free money, I always viewed credit cards as a way to build your credit score. It's Insain how some people think.
Pink Hair woman… If those were her actual kids then they have no chance in life. The son is especially doomed…
A new vid! Love the Caleb clips
