It's a shame that such a beautiful backhand did not come with more championships. Unfortunately the future generations will ignore that once upon a time there was a player with that a amazing shot.
Amen to than - IMAO probably the most amazing execution of a movement of any sport - unrivalled movement poetry to the nth degree. Much lIke a bicycle kick in football, a bullseye in darts, a massive dunk in NBA, a finishing spinning kick in MMA.
lol Murray seems very frustrated by Gasquet's superb backhand.. he is like "Jesus, the guy has done that more that twenty times unti now and I still can't even touch his backhands..."
if fed had that backhand he probably would have won the calendar year grand slam once or even twice. he would have taken nadals topspin forehand head on with that backhand
When I was growing up, all the boys in my neighborhood who played tennis were taught one handed backhand. I was one of them too. Only girls were taught two handed backhand. That was like 15 years ago. I don't know what's gone wrong today.
Federer strong point believe is or not is not his backhand. Serve, Forehand, feel, movement(anticipation) are all superb. If you watch a lot of his match, when his opponent attack that backhand side with heavy balls, all he could really do is put it back into play. Gasquet backhand is a threat to any players because it got some serious pace.
Everybody say that 2-handed backhand is better than one-handed and there is no advantage to hit one-handed. ???. There is at least one advantage (if you become a pro), everybody want to see those cool backhands (in UA-cam) and just like us, they're watching them by their favorite players.
nick fit it is ofcourse an artform and a backhand like this is one of tge best, but his forehand and mental strength is what kept him away from grandslams
Gasguet struggles against Rafa. Almagro is super strong on his BH side and 4th best Clay Courter in the world still has lots of trouble against rafa. Wawrinka doesn't do so well against him either, they all mention the difficulty on the backhand side even for them.
yeah ur right gasquet's backhand is more powerful than federer but he doesnt have the variety of federer which includes slice, top spin, flat shots, crazy angles, half volleys...
el revez de gasquet esta lleno de top spin, y el de wawrinka es mas plano, pero para mi el mejor es el de wawrinka porque lo tira mas para hacer el winner, en cambio gasquet arma el punto y despues hace el tiro fulminante
gasquets backhand is amazing in the right situations. He its it incredibly hard, and hes able to maintain that shot against mostly any other shot. Federers however, may not always be as powerful, but he has the variety and more options. Federer holds his backhand closer to a continental than gasquets eastern. This gives federer more flexibility with his options. he could even slice at the last moment if he chooses too. Ull prolly never really see gasqet hit a backhand slice.
i don't think so, gasguets bh requires too much initiative to take. Roger likes to hit inside-out fh's which is what makes him great. If he had wawrinka's bh, sure, i bet he'd be greater.
Federer is great, yes, but his backhand is far from the best. Gasquet, Wawrinka, Djoker, and Murray all have better backhands by far. Federer's backhand is the entire reason Nadal beats him all the time. Nadal pounds Federer's backhand side with those heavy forehands, and Fed's BH breaks down.
well he doesn't have a serve or a forehand, he's not especially athletic, and he's notorious for choking despite his obvious talent I can't believe he hasn't even sneaked a final appearance in a slam yet, with only one sf and other than that never even making it past the fourth round. he's a chronic underachiever, even though he's fun to watch
It's a shame that such a beautiful backhand did not come with more championships. Unfortunately the future generations will ignore that once upon a time there was a player with that a amazing shot.
i've watched some of richard's games live..and that backhand is just amazingly beautiful...wow... work of art...backhand sniper richard gasquet
What a wonderful fu****g backhand ! I love it !
Bless him, and his backhand
I fucking love Gasquets backhand. It's a piece of art!
Amen to than - IMAO probably the most amazing execution of a movement of any sport - unrivalled movement poetry to the nth degree. Much lIke a bicycle kick in football, a bullseye in darts, a massive dunk in NBA, a finishing spinning kick in MMA.
blinky and some people say that wawrinka has a better backhand lol
1:53 Soooo much topsin, you can see the ball accelerating as soon as he bounces!
lol Murray seems very frustrated by Gasquet's superb backhand.. he is like "Jesus, the guy has done that more that twenty times unti now and I still can't even touch his backhands..."
Can you make a part two? I can't stop watching -3
Awesome video!
He and GAUDIO! The BEST BACKHANDS !
Best backhand ever
Best genius ever
thanks for vids ;)
people keep saying the one handed back hand is dying. But it really isnt dying.
Roger Federer with Gasquet's backhand, He would have won 30 grand slams already !! xD
Or Wawrinkas
Good Backhand Series.
If Roger had Gasquet's top spin backhand, would he still be world nb 1.....
if fed had that backhand he probably would have won the calendar year grand slam once or even twice. he would have taken nadals topspin forehand head on with that backhand
Crazy stuff...
Gasquet should just go for his backhand on every single fucking point, and then he'd probably win some big titles.
nice. it's tough to be a fan of gasquet it comes with some dissapointment. I guess it's worth it when you get to see videos like this
Was Mr. Richard playing ping pong, right?
When I was growing up, all the boys in my neighborhood who played tennis were taught one handed backhand. I was one of them too. Only girls were taught two handed backhand. That was like 15 years ago. I don't know what's gone wrong today.
how do ya do that
Federer strong point believe is or not is not his backhand. Serve, Forehand, feel, movement(anticipation) are all superb. I wonder if Gasquet gets upset when no one searches for "Gasquet greatest forehands"
❤️
3:49
2:25 McEnroe talking, suddenly says 'excuse me'

Thanks for the awfully kind comment, I appreciate it mate.
murray is so much more fit now then he was then.
Gasquet's backhand sounds like a shotgun! O.o
at least it wasn't performance enhancing like certain other players are probably on...
Wh is this !!!!! OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
1 dislike that must be djokovic
I don't think this is in HD, just saying
This is not so much a backhand but an art form. Unfortunately, you can't get Grand Slam titles for it.
nick fit it is ofcourse an artform and a backhand like this is one of tge best, but his forehand and mental strength is what kept him away from grandslams
His backhand is better than Federer
i think gasquet back hand is better than federers no offence

capable of much more topspin and angle on bh than any human to ever walk the Earth. Great volleyer, half-volleyer, swing-volleyer with it as well.
Unreal @ 3:49! Out of position on the return....way behind the baseline...feet not really in place..I guess I should blast a 102 mph backhand then?
el revez de gasquet esta lleno de top spin, y el de wawrinka es mas plano, pero para mi el mejor es el de wawrinka porque lo tira mas para hacer el winner, en cambio gasquet arma el punto y despues hace el tiro fulminante
easy, between "youtube" and " .com" write "repeat". :)

hits tons of bh slices
If my grandma would still have teeth ...

Gasquets backhand seems better to me. Federer, however, is a better player overall
Gasquet choked the match against murray.
Ranking for one handed BH
1. Stan
2. Gasquet
3. RF
But RF BH become worsen in 2018 and 2019

for me this guy has the best one handed backhand of all time technique precision power such a shame he is mentaly weak
this dude KICKS ASS
