People saying 2020 doesn't count is ridiculous, like L.A. was never capable of winning it all when they were more than capable and even appeared two times prior. And now they finally did it to silence them. It's an exciting time to be a Dodgers fan
Good point. If it was some team that had been sub .500 for a decade that came out of nowhere to win, then it can be questioned but the Dodgers were a perennial playoff team and World Series favorite multiple times.
This video did indeed do the 2024 World Series champion dodgers justice. For outsiders it’s easy to say they should win based on who they have. But with all the injuries, underachievements of some players, off the field distractions, the narrative of their postseason shortcomings and the “Mickey mouse” narrative, they overcame all of it taking down the padres and both NY teams to claim the trophy. 100% satisfaction.
Dude, the fact that they AVERAGED 94 wins a season since 2013 even INCLUDING their 40 wins in 2020 shows how reliably dominant they've been for a long time.
I don’t think people talk enough about the fact that from 2016-2022 the Dodgers either won the World Series or lost to the team that won it. As a dodgers fan for sure it felt like they were choking many of those years, but it’s not like they lost to random squads. The 2020 season while short showed they could win the tournament - and since nearly 50% of the league now makes the playoffs, it shows that the World Series is more of a tournament of who’s hot vs who the best teams are. Idk I think this run has been dominant in the context of those facts.
16 Cubs 17 cheating Astros 18 cheating Red Sox 19 Nationals 20 WON 21 Braves 22 Padres chocked 23 D-backs chocked 24 WON Every team that beat them got the confidence to beat any other team. If you can beat the Dodgers, you can beat any team. Their division rivals thought the same thing but couldn't finish the job. To them, the Dodgers WERE the world series
I think you're mostly right. But I think some players choke. Aaron Judge was so bad that players before him were intentionally walked. Others like Kershaw are ok but not as dominant as their regular season. Then some players are the exact opposite and overperforming. David Freese. Steve Pearce. Jeremy Pena. And for the Dodgers, Kike Hernandez, Tommy Edman, and Walker Buehler. I really hope we keep Buehler. He's really proven in playoffs.
Thank you for this video. I’m 39 and the biggest Dodger fan you’ll ever meet. 2020 will always be the most important World Series championship to me but the more I sit here and think about it. 2024 will probably be the most complete championship team I e ever seen.
Small correction at 4:52. You're technically right that the Dodgers signed Enrique Hernandez to a 1-year deal during the off-season, however he was already on the team as he had been traded by the Red Sox to the Dodgers during the 2023 regular season, and was on the postseason roster during the 2023 NLDS to the Diamondbacks. The Dodgers tendering him a contract wasn't so much as "rounding out the roster" with another acquisition, as much as keeping a the veteran utility-man and fan-favorite as depth. Small nitpick though. Great video.
And also at 5:21 I'd include Emmet Sheehan, who threw 13 games for the Dodgers in 2023 for his rookie campaign, but suffered a season-ending elbow injury very early into spring training and subsequently had to receive Tommy John. He was one of the Dodger's brightest young pitching prospects.
@@dufftime no, he said "Anthony Rizzo opted not to run to first base and get the out himself". He didn't mention Cole not covering, which is crazy cause he shares equal blame on that play.
It should also be noted that Bobby Miller was widely considered to be a top 3 arm in our rotation going into 2024 that's because he posted a 3.70 era in his rookie year over 22 seasons. But after his impressive opening start against the Cardinals, he got demolished by the cubs and would never recover . The season was lost and the Dodgers, already dealing with significant injuries in the rotation, had to demote him to AAA
Dude, Bobby Miller was bafflingly bad in 2024. We gotta remember his complete absence was just as big a monkey wrench as any of their other top pitchers going down with injury.
The crazy thing about people saying that 2020 doesn’t count think of it all the teams played the same amount of games so it’s just like a regular season but just shorter and we all know if they’re (someone who thinks 2020 doesn’t count) team had won they would’ve been saying it counted
idea.. instead of continuing to talk over a moment let the audio from the game play as you show it right after you finished your point. Just a friendly tip. Great video tho!
For Real Diehard Dodgers this story goes back further to Nomar, Jeff Kent, Kemp, Ethier, James Loney Eric Gagne, AJ Ellis, etc etc etc PURO DOYERSSSS we love this team
I'm just saying, last year was the worst rating in World Series history IIRC, and this year the Dodgers acquired 2 Japanese superstars and garnered Japanese MLB fans, the writing's on the wall for the MLB to put them in the WS, no matter the opponent
For the amount of money and talent the dodgers have, division titles are a joke. Unfortunately, they were cheated of 2 titles that can no longer be viewed as an excuse when they have signed players from the 2018 Red Sox. Aside from 2020 and 2024, '19, '21, '22 & '23 were huge flops. That's why 2020 is viewed as a joke. 2024 just feels like it took too long for a team of that caliber to finally win, especially after all their acquisitions. 2020 does count for all the haters, but again, for a team like the dodgers, there should be no excuse not to win it. For the past years of failing to win the WS due to "injuries," the dodgers have no excuse anymore since they won 2024 with injuries.
WRONG. A Hollywood script would have the OMG Mets against the 0.2% Tigers in the WS with the series going a full 7 games and an epic 23(!) pitch duel-for-the-ages in the 5th Inning between Tarik Skubal and Pete Alonso. This was a JRPG. This was an Anime. This was a Manga. This script was written by the Japanese. Ohtani sucks.

They’re all just jealous and you know if their team won in 2020, they’d be singing a different tune
Good point. If it was some team that had been sub .500 for a decade that came out of nowhere to win, then it can be questioned but the Dodgers were a perennial playoff team and World Series favorite multiple times.
@@roysong1738no, it 100% doesn’t count. The season was less than half the length of a normal season.
@aoldm11 well it's in the MLB books records , your opinion
Doesn't count

Well said. The WS champion is not given. The Dodgers earned it.
"Tested and bruised, but still unbroken. "
What a line by Joe Davis.
When did he said this I forgot
The dodgers scouting report on the Yankees was correct “That if you run the bases with purpose and aggression, the Yankees will self-inflict harm”.
Dude, the fact that they AVERAGED 94 wins a season since 2013 even INCLUDING their 40 wins in 2020 shows how reliably dominant they've been for a long time.
Padre fans say 2020 doesn’t count…. But remember they threw a HUGE parade during the “Mickey noise wild card” win 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That while fan base is trash
padres don't even got fans till 2020 lmao
@@bman2080808 but they not ready for that 💀😭

Video did justice for the dodgers 2024 world series title run 🏆💙🔥.
Excellent video and great breakdown of the entire offseason to postseason run.
2:17 - I love that some of us baseball folk fully understand what we're watching unfold. All hail the Chosen One OHTANI-SAN!!!!
This video does a great job of putting the season in perspective. Great job.

Yes, you did this championship run justice! Thank you, from a lifelong Dodger fan!

Ah right, thanks!
Great video but Cole was just as much to blame for not running to first in the last World Series game
The only thing you missed was that Gerit Cole also didn't cover first lol

I wanna say nice job, well done!!! Love my Dodgers💙💙💙
Now dodger gonna go on a tear winning 9 more WS
Loved the video. Just missing a Cavan Biggio homer 😂.
Thanks for making this video. Brings my heart joy seeing my team a great topic on and off the field. Great work bro

Love Teo! I'm glad he's back with the team.
Yea it’s wild to make it seem like the Dodgers success was a flash in the pan, well, can’t say that anymore ✌🏼
dodgers on topppp
Great video
Why The Dodgers get so much hate I’ll never understand. Must be an LA thing.
awesome video, a season for the ages

Fantastic tip. Especially the 40-40 and 50-50 games for Shohei. That could let us relieve the moment
Good video
This video downplays Freeman’s WS. Dude went LEGEND.
Freeman's four-game HR was epic. The entire team contributed to the WS run and championship win - Edman, Teo, Kike, the bullpen, and the entire gang!
DODGERS POR VIDA
As a dodger fan I thank you 😊😂
This team was the best can’t wait till we run it BACK

It's a Hollywood ending. Nonetheless, it is a 2 world series title since the 2020 covid shorted MLB season
Need consistency. That's it.
Dodgers are the greatest 💙
Bad Ass World 2024 Series DODGERS Champs
2020... everyone wanted to be in the tournament, and Dodgers won it. 2024 just cements all of it.
Can the LA Dodgers become the new dynasty team?
Should be three Championships . 2017 was literally taken away from us by cheaters As tros! The As Tros should have had that taken away from them!
