  • How do entrepreneurs and successful business people look at the world around them? Success in business is a "mind game" and often hinges on three specific personality traits. And they are not what you might think.

Glad you mentioned fear. I have been seeing it as a weakness. I opened up a company about ten months ago, thanks to Allah it is picking up. The biggest problem that I've had is fear. In fact I fear more than when I was employed years back. This fear has increased my ability to read several books, and listen to several audios just to be sure I understand everything people talked about as far as business is concerned. See, fear has added me an advantage of reading more than I used to.

Summary time! 3 characteristics common to successful entrepreneurs:
    1. Cynical. Call it realistic. Real-world. Able to assess problems and opportunities.
    2. Focused. Present and paying attention. Staying on the ball and heading off problems early on.
    3. Ruthless. Not vicious, but in a tenacious way. Getting it moving and dealing with the mess after, if any.
    Super-summary:
    1. Have no illusions
    2. Stay sharp
    3. Eye of the tiger

@@abdulahjalloh8743 Made, sir. I was a lazy kid. Spoiled. It was a rapid adjustment to start my own business. Now I am happy to work because I'm not grinding for someone else's machine.
My mistakes are when I get desperate, so I try for diligence instead. With a pen and paper I write "One thing I'm doing for my business today is..."

This is a motivating video for anyone thinking about starting a business but isn't sure. I've worked with hundreds of clients and I can tell you that there isn't an "ideal mold" for a successful entrepreneur - introvert/extrovert/intellectual/blue collar - doesn't matter. The number #1 trait that all entrepreneurs have is the ability to Execute their idea and not allow their fears stop them. I suppose that would fall under the third trait in this video = "Audacity"!

My first year in business, I have been contracting for other small companies. The directors are always on guard and I sense that they see me as a potential threat. Its all nice when we talk but if I say that I have started to win my own contracts and share good news, I sense their concern. I never understood this as there is plenty of work out there. These small companies are making plenty of money, but their insecurities were so evident. This video has explained why. Thank you.

I don't think that successful business people are really cynical at all. Most genuinely believe that what they're doing is right, in the context of the industry they're in. The example you have of opening liquor stores in downtrodden neighborhoods, they are providing quality, regulated alcohol in areas that would be prone to illegal brewing and all its related ills. I think the key is to throw oneself into an industry that you see the inherent value in, so that you don't have to be cynical to succeed in it, then you can see the possibility to service people ethically.

I am thinking about a new type of restaurants : eating-spots,
in eating-spots, food keeps changing, chefs also rotate,
this is opposed to current restaurants,
thanks to this rotation of food and chefs, eating-spots are way more powerful than restaurants,
along with that, there is an app,
people vote for the food that will be cooked in the next days,
menu is influenced by the live input of the people via an app.

"How do I exploit those for my own personal gain?"

you are always doing something for your own personal gain. its the only reason we move

    •  8 років тому +1

bOB dAbUILDER That isn't true. Sometimes people do is right because it is right. The fact it is right gains them nothing. No recognition and no profit. Sometimes doing what is right even yields a negative result. Ridicule and loss. I already know what you are going to say. But you wanted to do it so there is your gain. Wrong. Sometimes people are also compelled. The unseen hand of fate will force you to act.

    • @bobdabuilder4075
