I went on youtube tonight to hear some metal.. I recently decided to give up bands like Slipknot and Tool for my own reasons.. But I still like heavy music.. Im so used to those bands... I used to play guitar in my basement along with those cd's sometimes.... Anyways, here I am... Hearing War of Ages.. Sounds a bit refreshing to me. For someone like me that's in transition to Christian metal, it sounds pretty good :) I might just have to learn these songs on my guitar too.. Thank you War of Ages.
Very cool to hear Decipher64. I too used to listen to those bands and they were depressing and made me have a bad attitude towards people close to me. Now that I started listening to only Christian bands my outlook on life has changed right along with my attitude towards people. I enjoy listening to Red, Thousand Foot Krutch and several other Christian artist.
I still like Slipknot but I've been gravitating away from them lately and don't really enjoy some of the devil references even if they are just for the shock value. Started listening to these guys and can't stop :D
Well you just summed me up also. I used to love slipknot and tool. I noticed Tool actually serves Satan (pentacle symbolism and just watch their music videos it might also be the same stuff Alister Crowley believed in) and slipknot blatantly does but no one in the band really gives a s***. And I came to the verse one day that states What the enemy intends for evil, God will turn it around and use it for the good of his children and for his glory. Rejoice in that all different walks of life are finding these avenues to him and pray for our continued devotion to the Lord.

Christian people listening to worldly music no longer have any excuse. Any genre you want can be done to the glory of God. I personally love metal, but I hate the death behind mainstream metal. Christian metal, although involving the death of Christ, the slaughter of sin, and the execution of our old, lifeless, dead-in-sin selves, has more life behind it than any song about "living your best life" or anything like that.

+Littlejohn133 that is the most true statement i have read all night and i have been a metal head for 6 years now and as for some people they wouldn't even know that this was christian unless they were told.
I went on youtube tonight to hear some metal.. I recently decided to give up bands like Slipknot and Tool for my own reasons.. But I still like heavy music.. Im so used to those bands... I used to play guitar in my basement along with those cd's sometimes.... Anyways, here I am... Hearing War of Ages.. Sounds a bit refreshing to me. For someone like me that's in transition to Christian metal, it sounds pretty good :) I might just have to learn these songs on my guitar too.. Thank you War of Ages.
Very cool to hear Decipher64. I too used to listen to those bands and they were depressing and made me have a bad attitude towards people close to me. Now that I started listening to only Christian bands my outlook on life has changed right along with my attitude towards people. I enjoy listening to Red, Thousand Foot Krutch and several other Christian artist.
I still like Slipknot but I've been gravitating away from them lately and don't really enjoy some of the devil references even if they are just for the shock value. Started listening to these guys and can't stop :D
Well you just summed me up also. I used to love slipknot and tool. I noticed Tool actually serves Satan (pentacle symbolism and just watch their music videos it might also be the same stuff Alister Crowley believed in) and slipknot blatantly does but no one in the band really gives a s***. The lead singer of slipknot is atheist and he subconsciously promotes evil.
Some choose to sing for god to show his gentle calm side.Some choose to yell for god to represent his power and his strength in his teachings 😊

Love the comment and as a metal head who's been trying to find Jesus since my teens (38 now) I gotta tell ya I have found him through stranger outlets, vehicles than metal.
And I came to the verse one day that states What the enemy intends for evil, God will turn it around and use it for the good of his children and for his glory.
Rejoice in that all different walks of life are finding these avenues to him and pray for our continued devotion to the Lord.

Lyrical content is what matters. There are pleasant contemporary songs about murder. Meanwhile there are also metal songs praising Christ. Which do you think is better genuinely ?? A soft song about sin or a powerful song about praise and love ?? Some of yall need to stop genre hating. It comes down to the MESSAGE.❤

Metal has always been about speaking the truth in our hearts, music with a deep meaning and emotion. Ironically this fits the Christian message so well. Satanic Metal used to be edgy and 'new' but the message always led to the same boring conclusion... Christian Metal is like Metal for Adults, Hard core love for Jesus.

I think the point of the song is that we are empty, hopeless and seeking the wrong things without the guidance that only Christ can provide. And those that think they're alone, aren't. Christ is there, having paid the ultimate price for them. "Through the blood of a savior, our death shall set us free." Just like you said, "to live is Christ and to die is gain."

Christian people listening to worldly music no longer have any excuse. Any genre you want can be done to the glory of God. I personally love metal, but I hate the death behind mainstream metal. Christian metal, although involving the death of Christ, the slaughter of sin, and the execution of our old, lifeless, dead-in-sin selves, has more life behind it than any song about "living your best life" or anything like that.

When I first showed Episode 1 of the METAL-CROSS TV show, titled; DEATH - ANY LAST WORDS (all the shows are on this channel), I had people wanting to walk out. The older Christians just couldn't take it. It's just too brutal for them.
