Works great, thanks! I put a layer of leaves on the top of the 10th level as well to keep other mobs from spawning. Got 6 full tridents in a few minutes.
@by_Jamesnah bro I’ve had this farm for 2 weeks now and it has never worked for bedrock. I’ve tried trading with over 300 of them and still haven’t gotten one to trade.
I built it exactly as you built it and nothing's spawning. My guess is that since my simulation distance is 12, it reaches the sea and drowneds spawn in there instead. My other guess is that since drowneds count in the mob cap, and I built my drowned farm near my base which has full of monsters, they all fill up the mob cap, thus preventing the drowneds from spawning. The first guess seems more likely as drowneds do spawn in the sea but never in the farm. How do I fix this? Edit: I towered up by 32+ blocks above the roof and drowneds started spawning. I looked at silentwhisperer's design and his farm was 128 blocks above the sea rather than this farm being only 64 blocks above the sea. Guys when you build this make sure it's 128 blocks above the sea, not just 64. That ensures that the ocean is unloaded and gives less area for the drowneds to spawn.
You can also build an advanced mob switch that'll stop mob spawning of every chunk except for the one with the farm. Then just mob proof that chunk below and you're good to go
I built this in about 3 hours last night because a friend I play with on a Realm needed 36 tridents for a 9 kill chamber gunpowder farm he is building. I got him all the tridents he needed in about an hour. Great job on the design and ease of use. The only change I made was to change out the buttons to trap doors above the chest to prevent the baby drowned from squeezing out the kill slot. THANKS JAMES!!!
I built it over a cold ruin it works perfect. I would suggest to not place the water bucket in the kill chamber and replace that with hoppers and slabs everything else works good
Tips from me Remove the water so their fall damage can make you one shot them, then just replace your water to collect the item. So Remove>Replace>Repeat. ITS better than have to slash them manually
Replace the buttons above the chest with trap doors. The baby drowned won't come out. Came up with this last night,a nd you still have a good view of the drowned to see that they have a trident. The best place I have found to stand is slightly back from the opening and to the left of the hopper. This allows you to hit what is on the hopper and hit the button on the dispenser.
Edit: you can build it in snow biome but replace the Block u put water on with magma block so its not gonna change to ice (i build it over a little island thats why it dont work 🤦🏻♂️)
@by_James its a raining Chunk but a few Blocks higher its snowing in the chunk but that should be not a Problem though. I Just use magma blocks tested it and still works (need light level 7 or less to spawn, magma is lvl 3)
I also used cobble stone and if i stand in front of the Chest, nothing spawns. Edit: (after 5 minutes) my simulation is 5 chunks now and i build in Front of the quest 5 Blocks up and i stand there and looking down to the chest, 3x octupus dropped. But 0 water zombie...
@@charlielabarge5310 I spent like 5 hours working on it and now I'm just finding out if doesn't fckin work in an ocean biome 😭😭😭😭 thanks for letting us know man

Great to hear!
They won’t pick up the shell for the trident how do I fix
Not every drowned has the ability to pick up items. But ~90% will
Try Dispenser

@n9s3nse10 What? If the mob cap is filled, the drowned farm won't work, and I don't think you can make mob switches work only for specific locations

No problem, good advice!
Works great thanks man
No problem 👍
I’ve tried both dropper and dispenser and both haven’t worked after 20+ minutes of farming. Any ideas why?
because i don't no
Thank you b🎉
No problem

Is it ok if i built it near mob tower or should i have to build it far away?
Good video ByJames :). Why don't you reply in Discord anymore?
omg hi it's u
I'm sorry I really use dc. I'll get to you soon, currently sick :(
it works perfectly when you lower the simulation distance i got like 10 tridents in just 20 mins thanks bro nice build
did you do it in an ocean or river biome??
@Nater_1121 in an ocean biome
@@Emirwithdahomies what did you lower the distance to? also what if they aren't spawning despite me doing everything he did perfectly??
@@Nater_1121I went up 90 blocks on top of an ocean biome, and i did the farm and reduced the render rate to 5-6 and it works perfectly

What do you mean with solid blocks? Can i build this also with cobblestone?
Can u build a slime silverfish xp farm

Great video btw i Made one farm from this video and ITS great!!!
bro ill wait this long time
Hey I just wanted to say very good video man
Thanks!
Please a squid farm 🤩
This farm works as a squid farm too :)
whats the most amount you can stack up in there?
Oh wow! Howdy James!
Howdy :)
i built it exactly how you did in an ocean biome and nothing is spawning??
yea same here
@@javiertoscanojr7511turn simulation distance down it worked great after I got it workin
Guys u fixed the Problem? I build it exactly and also nothing spawns
Hey bro quick question
Can i remove the water bucket and put 4 hoppers instead of one so that i can one shot the drowned
Please reply.
Yes
tried it it works
Yeah, it should work!
Nothing is spawning in the farm how do I fix it
+1
Change simulation distance in to 4
what if i dont want to swap and just build a trident spinning machine that kills mobs?
You can do that.
Should i replace the button on top of the chest with slab so that baby drowned don't have a chance to espace
Yes but it'll be harder to aim so go down by 1 block and reduce the farm by 1 block
@n9s3nse10 aight thanks

Maybe the farm dont work in a snow biome ? Because its snowing ontop the leaves ? I mean only this one Chuck is snowing, 2 chunks nexto is other biome
Edit: you can build it in snow biome but replace the Block u put water on with magma block so its not gonna change to ice (i build it over a little island thats why it dont work 🤦🏻♂️)
Just build it in a regular ocean biome, there are plenty. :) If you can't find one, use chunkbase.com .
@by_James its a raining Chunk but a few Blocks higher its snowing in the chunk but that should be not a Problem though. I Just use magma blocks tested it and still works (need light level 7 or less to spawn, magma is lvl 3)
The drowns are not picking the shells up ik you say about 10% of them wont but ive had over 20 now not and only 2 pick them up
Same goes for me
@ i figured out if your game is on hard mode they will trade a lot more
You're gonna get with baby drowneds with this method
Replace the buttons with a slab or maybe a trapped door
Mine does not work and I don’t know why. Is it because I used cobbled deep slate?
Me too
I also used cobble stone and if i stand in front of the Chest, nothing spawns.
Edit: (after 5 minutes) my simulation is 5 chunks now and i build in Front of the quest 5 Blocks up and i stand there and looking down to the chest, 3x octupus dropped. But 0 water zombie...
Suggestion;use a trident killer,afk and use looting 3
I've built this trident killer but u cant put looting 3 on a trident so how do I use this trident killer and looting 3 at the same time?
Hold a looting 3 sword
@brownlive9518 do I try hit them while holding the sword or do I just stand there and hold it?
@ you only need to stand there and hold it
@@brownlive9518 thx! I didn't know this was a thing until now✨️🙂
for some reason squids are spawning is there anything i can do for this?
They don't interfere with the drowned rates, so I'd take them as bonus.
@by_Jamesthank you 🙏
So with the new changes all the mobs have a pick up priority so it won't work.
Maybe it's only on java not 100% shure
Just made it on bedrock, it still works, but the pickup isn't extremely consistent. But in less than 5 mins, I got 5 tridents
Turn simulation distamce down to 4 for this to work
the drowned dont pick up the shells
How do i make creepers not see me and blow everything up
Use tinted glass
This work on ios? I will build this in my 300 days world
Does the biome or location matter?
ocean biome
@@notbrennn did you build it in an ocean biome??
@@Nater_1121 Yes
I built it in a mushroom biome and it works fine for me
@TheHybridFamily same I'm based at a mushroom biome but I did it in the ocean in front of it but I fixed it so it's fine
Does the best Minecraft farm builder respond?
I do!
@by_James dang love you James
Search up what temporal means cause your not using it right its temporary
Thanks actually, wasn't aware of that.
Use ice not stone bricks it works better
it's the same
Whot if I use tinted glass ?!?
It's still workin?!?
Instead of leaves I don't think it will.
I built it but they’re not spawning?
doesn’t work in ocean
do it in a river biome
@@charlielabarge5310 I spent like 5 hours working on it and now I'm just finding out if doesn't fckin work in an ocean biome 😭😭😭😭 thanks for letting us know man
It does work in oceans.
@by_James i think drowneds don’t spawn above y 58 or something but i could be weong
Notilous shells help give max tridents
Nvm u included that lol
When I do the dropper and the shell thingy it don’t work
Try using a dispenser
Nice!
Why bedrock edition D:
bc most people play bedrock (:
Or you could just drop one a nautilus shell and they trade their full health trident for the shell
