Still alive, he lives in northern California. He's not getting any younger. That video is from 1981. My high school days. I admire your joy. Your reactions are great partly because of your amazing glorious joy. God bless.
Cant believe it took ya guys so long to do Journey..best rock band and yes Steve Perry is the voice!! Hit after hit with these guys. Time too go down the rabbit hole!!!
He has talked about after the pandemic is gone, going on a tour of the USA singing his music, he said he has the itch to be in front of people and sing for them.
His voice live in concert is indistinguishable from a recorded album and he makes it look so absolutely effortless. Keep up with the fantastic reaction and music choices and don't stop belivin' because we won't with you.
So many great songs from a truly legendary band. I can't even list them all but to name a few , separate ways , anyway you want it , faithfully and open arms :)
I think it's cool when generations find the 80's. I graduated from high school in 1986, and I remember going to these concerts and having the time of my life.
Check out their song "Mother, Father" from the same concert (1981 Houston). The vocal gymnastics Steve Perry performs is other worldly. The notes he hits at the end of that song are unbelievable 👍😎
Love the cousin. Glad he joined you. Love that you share your family. Hope you all had a great Christmas and wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous future year.
The next Journey songs to react to are "Who's Crying Now", "Lovin Touchin Squeezin", "Mother Father", "Separate Ways", "Lights", and Steve Perry's solo songs "Oh Sherrie" and "Foolish Heart"!
I’m really happy you did a Journey reaction. Also it is so cool that your cousin (I assume he is your cousin in the back) Gets to share this experience in these reactions with you. He may not know a lot about journey now, but now he knows a little bit more. In my opinion, it is always good to learn about different things and different genres of music. Learning is a lifelong process. Anyway, thanks again guys.
Im sure if youd told Steve back then that there would be 3 black guys loving on his music in 2021, he would've probably been very flattered. But I knew black guys back then that listened to journey music.
You need to listen to Mother, Father, Sister Brother... vocal range is crazy. React to the live version from same concert as this one. You will NOT be disappointed. Love your reactions ❤️
Not to many singers has rock opera voices only a few maybe three Steve Perry fo sure ,Arenal Penda of journey of course and Robert plant ,Meat Loaf ,and last but not least Freddy Mercury.
Neal Schon and Journey. Steve Perry was lead singer and is still alive, 71 yrs old. Neal Schon is known as one of the greatest guitarists. If I’m not mistaken, he is still part of Carlos Santana’s band. I had the privilege of seeing Neal Schon and Journey band open for Carlos Santana concert in San Jose, Ca. One hell of a great concert!👍
Steve Perry is still alive and is currently 73 years old. The band was originally formed in San Francisco in 1973. Journey had their biggest commercial success (most hit singles/most albums sold) between 1978 and 1987, when Steve Perry was the lead vocalist. For most of us die-hard Journey fans, it isn’t Journey without Steve Perry, because of his completely unique and powerful voice. As Steve Perry says at the beginning of the song, this video was filmed/performed in Houston, TX as part of Journey’s “Escape“ tour, in support of their new album by the same name. The tour was 6 separate sections of cities, from Jul 27, 1981 - Jul 2, 1982, including the US, Canada and Asia. During the tour they played a total of 132 shows! I got to see this very same concert the night before in Dallas, TX, so I am extremely lucky to have heard the great Steve Perry in person. I will be 65 years old in November, but it’s worth it because of the times I grew up in. The 70s/80s had the best music in my opinion. By the way, there is a version of the band Journey still touring, but it only contains one of the original members, Neal Schon, the amazing guitarist in this video, who is currently 68 years old. Lead vocals are now sung by Arnel Pineda from the Philippines. He is 53 years old and has a very good and strong voice and sounds quite a lot like Steve Perry, but of course there will only ever be one Steve Perry. After Steve Perry left Journey, he recorded 4 solo albums: Street Talk, For the Love of Strange Medicine, Traces and The Season. The first album Street Talk is the best and had two hit singles: Oh, Sherry (the name of his girlfriend at the time he recorded the song), and Foolish Heart (you can find both on UA-cam). ☮️ Steve in Kansas
You should check out "Mother Father" from that same concert. Live in Houston. Steve's vocal are off the charts in that song. Especially at the end. You might have to pick your chin up off the floor. Haha
Steve Perry is back in the business. He was away from the stages for a long long time. He knew a Lady but she passed away when she lost her fight against cancer. Now he returned to the studio and made some singles. His voice is as unique as always. In a recent interviewed was asked about coming back with the Journey but he told that he won't be able to go back now that he is gong forward. But again, his New album is great. You must look at it to see how he looks now and how well preserved is his voice after all these years without singing.
Do you want Steve's voice to nearly bring you to tears? Check out this semi-deep track "Mother, Father" live, from this same Houston show. The video is easy to find on UA-cam. It's a very deep song lyrically also, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to follow along with the words on your phone. Trust me guys... Steve at his greatest. He hits a note at the end of the song that for years I thought was a keyboard note. You will NOT be disappointed.
After Steve Perry left Journey the group found a Filipino (on UA-cam) that sounds just like Steve Perry. His name is Arnel Pinda if you want to check him out,
Mind blown... I did not realise there were two of you's! Kudos to the big lad in the back also, let me know what college team he joins! ✌️- nah, he'll probably be going for a GP or lawyer, instead (or also)... 😀
His name is Steve Perry he was one of the best lead singers there was he didn’t seem just with journey either he sang with a lot of the people Liz the queen
Rabbit hole alert......definitely go down that rabbit hole. Earlier in their career you’ll find bluesy based rock....and a whole lot more, it’s all good, especially live. Mother Father will blow your mind and ears out for sure! Have fun with these guys....they don’t disappoint- facts! 🎼🎶🎹🎸🎸🎤🔥🔥🤘😎🎧
Steve is a legend... but IF U LOVE VOCALS STEELHEART I'll Never Let You Go (watch for the backbend!!) ua-cam.com/video/F-nyeiKk35M/v-deo.html Or She's Gone -ua-cam.com/video/ICJs1CxCRt0/v-deo.html. MILIJENKO Matijevic (milinko mata-chevic) he is #1
They ruled the world in the 80’s.
Still alive, he lives in northern California. He's not getting any younger. That video is from 1981. My high school days. I admire your joy. Your reactions are great partly because of your amazing glorious joy. God bless.
Yes he's still alive. He is solo now. He came out with a new album like 2 years ago. He's still amazing.
He sounds just as good live as he does recorded.
He should joiun Journey again, he could sing along with Arnel Pineda!
One of the type 5 male vocalist in Rock, or any genre, in my opinion.
One of the greatest vocalists of all time
My favorite rock band.
Hearing spout of with that little bit of “The Voice” knowledge gave me hope in today’s youth!
And this was LIVE!!!!! Makes all the more impressive!!!
Cant believe it took ya guys so long to do Journey..best rock band and yes Steve Perry is the voice!! Hit after hit with these guys. Time too go down the rabbit hole!!!
Agreed 100 percent!!! Let's do it !!!
Live. No autotune. Amazing! I went to all of their concerts in the 70's and 80's!
He has talked about after the pandemic is gone, going on a tour of the USA singing his music, he said he has the itch to be in front of people and sing for them.
Steve is 73 and still sings like an angel
Still pure joy to hear.
He is the Top
The VOICE!! (Steve Perry)
His voice live in concert is indistinguishable from a recorded album and he makes it look so absolutely effortless.
Keep up with the fantastic reaction and music choices and don't stop belivin' because we won't with you.
Oh yes he is. Not with Journey anymore. Check out his solo work. Fantastic
Yes , oh Sherri was one of his biggest solo also a great beat :)
NOBODY LIKE STEVE PERRY,
THIS MAN IS AMAZING,
GOD I LOVE THIS MAN 💞💯💞
So many great songs from a truly legendary band. I can't even list them all but to name a few , separate ways , anyway you want it , faithfully and open arms :)
That's right hall of fame good.😄 Great reaction. Steve is still alive
Back in the 80s there was actually a Journey arcade game. It actually had a tape cassette player inside to play their songs.
All I can say is listen to all of Journey, but only with Steve Perry!😁 That's the only way.
He is known like The Voice
I think it's cool when generations find the 80's. I graduated from high school in 1986, and I remember going to these concerts and having the time of my life.

He said Hall of Fame Good, and he was right.
Love the cousin. Glad he joined you. Love that you share your family. Hope you all had a great Christmas and wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous future year.
Five note octave. Bionic voice.
The next Journey songs to react to are "Who's Crying Now", "Lovin Touchin Squeezin", "Mother Father", "Separate Ways", "Lights", and Steve Perry's solo songs "Oh Sherrie" and "Foolish Heart"!
Totally agree!! 😁
You forgot _Open Arms._
I love Journey!!!! My favorite band & song!!!!!
I’m really happy you did a Journey reaction. Also it is so cool that your cousin (I assume he is your cousin in the back) Gets to share this experience in these reactions with you. You should check out the song called Mother Father, that's one of my faves and so cool, really shows off Steve's Vocals even more. 😎🎸👌
Who’s crying now from the same show is 🔥
The arena this show was performed in was called The Summit. It is now Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church.
That brings back such fond memories.
Y'all should check out Oh Sherry....Steve Perry's first solo hit. Sad day when he left Journey 😓
Not to many singers has rock opera voices only a few maybe three Steve Perry fo sure ,Arenal Penda of journey of course and Robert plant ,Meat Loaf ,and last but not least Freddy Mercury.
You all have such great smiles... enjoyed watching you watch The Voice!
I think you guys would like "Faithfully" and "Separate Ways" by Journey.
Neal Schon and Journey. Steve Perry was lead singer and is still alive, 71 yrs old. Neal Schon is known as one of the greatest guitarists. I love the enthusiasm and that you guys knew the words already!! Great reaction
I love the man in the red shirt in the back--he's more reserved, but he can be very expressive
As someone born and raised in Houston this is awesome ! ❤️
Steve Perry is back in the business. He was away from the stages for a long long time. He knew a Lady but she passed away when she lost her fight against cancer. Journey is on a higher-plane in the space-time continuum of rock-n-roll
#1voice👊🎤🎵
Any Way You Want It playing during the last scene of Caddyshack. One of the best uses of a rock song in a movie ever.
That voice ❤️❤️❤️

Mind blown... I did not realise there were two of you's! Kudos to the big lad in the back also, let me know what college team he joins! ✌️- nah, he'll probably be going for a GP or lawyer, instead (or also)... 😀
I was at this concert at The Summit in Houston. Always performed better live than in a studio.
An incredible singer and great band! Are you watching the Sooners tonight? “Go Sooners”!
His name is Steve Perry he was one of the best lead singers there was he didn’t seem just with journey either he sang with a lot of the people Liz the queen

Steve Perry is still alive and still singing. He still sounds great but he does not have the vocal range that he used to have.
Fire video as usual!
Nice reaction boys
You guys are cool -- and I really want that Johnny Cash t-shirt haha!
Steve released an album this year Still the Voice.
Hall of fame reaction! 👍
Steve Perry has a gorgeous voice! You should try Faithfully...he has a song he did solo without Journey called Oh Sherry that's really good!
Steve is still alive. He released a solo album a couple of years ago.
Check out Escape from this same concert!

This song is so inspirational, it makes me want to move to California and become a homeless person.
He was out of singing for a while but promised his dying wife he'd sing again
