    Don't forget to share this video as some people are completely unaware of the damage their dogs do to the wildlife environment. We won't convince everyone but we have to start somewhere thanks for watching

    Firstly, thank you Mark for all your excellent local wildlife videos and their varied content. Secondly for highlighting this problem in such a sensitive way but how you kept your cool I will never know. For interest I have just seen an article about dangerous levels of chemicals used for dog flea treatment in our New Forest ponds. The knock on effect is lack of dragonflies and lower numbers of the Hobby one of their main predators. The cycle of life or not as the case might be. 2:40

    I run into this all the time at all my nature spots !!! Irresponsible and selfish dog owners that have 0 control over dogs and let them off leash scarring all the wildlife and stressing everything out. I love how they just laugh like its funny they just destroyed everything and could care less. Really ridiculous, thank you for making this video and raising awareness Mark!!!

      Thanks Sam. It is not just here in the UK then on this small Island, you have the same problem over the pond in America very interesting. This wanten carnage carnage has to stop so if you can please promote this video that would be great. Maybe we can wake up some of these selfish Dog Owners. I think they are really oblivious to the damage they cause🤔

    Must admit my spaniel has gone splashing into ponds and rivers during hot weather, and even as a wildlife photographer and wildlife watcher myself, it never really occurred to me what upset she may have been causing, under the surface, particularly. I would never let her go in if there were ducks, swans, etc ON the water, but I never thought about the insects and creatures IN the water. You made a good video, and if nothing else, you have succeeded at least in educating me!

    • @CamillaI
      @CamillaI  Місяць тому +1

      Excellent, unfortunately as I say in the video it is 90% of the Pond activity is under the water . Even one dog can do a lot of damage 👌

      Well as the main protagonists left I think one said "Point taken" obviously a bit late by then, damage done. Some people really have no idea how to look after their dogs or the environment as shown by their actions. I think my video really shows the problem and the selfishness towards their own animals to the detriment of all others . Even if their lovely dog savaged a child I think they would still defend the beast . Dog owner mass psychosis ! Please share this video to highlight the problem, they are both thick & Ignorant and hopefully this video demonstrates it 🤔

    Some examples i have had with dog owners while walking to a place to do some Photography, i stopped to ask this man walking with a dog for directions his dog a pit pull type dog started chewing on my tripod leg. I said to the owner could you stop your dog chewing on my tripod leg, he said its your fault for carrying a tripod its scaring the dog.
    I said if the dog wasn't chewing on my tripod leg he would be chewing on my leg.
    Another time i was going for a walk along an old disused railway line, i saw a man and his dog in the distance i decided to go up the bank into a field until they passed, the dog came running up to me in the field growling and barking at me.
    The owner called the dog back and said it was my fault for being in the field scaring his dog, not the owner not controlling his dog.
    Another time i was going for a walk and seen this little dog run past me, then i saw the owners searching for their dog, they said have you seen our little dog, i said i saw it run past me at speed.
    They said why didn't you stop it? I said it wasn't my dog, they kept on searching for their little dog, then they accused me of kidnapping their dog, i said i have not got your dog, and they said whats in the bag on your back my Camera equipment, to shut them up i opened my Camera bag to show them their dog wasn't in there.
    The moral of the story is just a quiet walk in the woods can cause you a lot of stress due to irresponsible dog owners not keeping their dogs under control, and its always your fault never theirs.

    • @CamillaI
      @CamillaI  Місяць тому +1

      Thanks for sharing. It seems to be a common theme here, it is your fault not the dog or its owner . Amazing disrespect and putting their dog above any Wildlife or Human incredible ! 🤔

    Great video and highlights how thoughtless and selfish some people are. I’ve been lunged at and nearly bitten by dogs ‘playing’ and told if I don’t like dogs I should F off somewhere else. End of the day the dogs aren’t the issue the irresponsible owners are. It’s a shame but it sums up why nature is in trouble.

    Amazing that Dragon flies have survived at all these millennium. what with all the dinosaurs birds reptiles and mammals just think all those blundering Orox stomping around, I really dont think dogs splashing is the real problem more like the tidy brigade filling in ponds. And I dont have a dog.

    • @CamillaI
      @CamillaI  Місяць тому

      Well you think it is not a problem. But then someone replies having just read an article about dangerous levels of chemicals in New Forest ponds caused by a common flea treatment used for dogs.
      I am not a "Jurassic Park" fan some people don't even think Dinosaurs roamed the earth but that it is a whole other subject ! But I do believe in organic growth certainly not man made with chemicals intentionally or unintentionally added🤔

      Before I set up a couple came along and the bloke just told me "they are going in" which partly set the tone for the day. He was six foot and looked like he had a few fights in his day, I certainly wasn't going to mess with him or his dogs.
      The day before a couple of reasonably articulate individual selfish morans really had a go, and tried to intimidate me, when I just politely asked them to put their dogs on a lead please ! One even explaining to his young daughter this was the sort of person to ignore. Please promote this video if you can, we have to try and get the message out these selfish idiots really don't think they are doing anything wrong 🤔

    My two Labradors really enjoyed watching this! At one point I thought they were going to jump into the TV screen and join ‘em.
    I live on the edge of the Quantock Hills, AONB. Gottta say, dogs should be kept on leads here till end Sept too. It’s not well sign posted. If you can find the signs, it will tell you about ground dwelling birds. Sheep/Lambs and maybe a dog’s worst nightmare, Adder snakes 🐍 Seen quite a few this year!
    On these hots days, the dogs do need a dip. Sadly nature is all about survival of the fittest.
    Nice photos as always Mark. Is the a9 iii proving to be any better than the A1?

    • @CamillaI
      @CamillaI  Місяць тому +1

      Good to here the Labradors were watching carefully I hope. And yes It is not just a problem confined to the New Forest unfortunately. The A9III is better for photographing Dragonflies more in focus and with the pre capture feature only downside too many photos to process !

    • @RichardBedford-p3q
      @RichardBedford-p3q Місяць тому +1

      I've been using the A9iii alongside two Sony A1 cameras and I've actually fallen in love with it...despite my earlier attempts to dismiss it. As long as you can get a reasonable amount of your subject in the frame initially, there is very little at all to dislike about it. Noise is not a problem and the colours are the best that I have seen from any Sony camera. The speed and pre-capture is great and the customisable autofocus areas is brilliant. It will not replace my A1 cameras but it is a truly impressive camera...I'm converted.

      This really isn’t survival of the fittest (and if you’d seek vet care for your dog if it was bitten by a snake you don’t believe in it anyway) this is about dominance of the selfish. Great you keep your dog on a lead. Worth encouraging others to do the same.
