- Today, we venture to Lake St. Louis, MO (a distant suburb of St. Louis) to experience a really neat tunnel wash. This Phillips 66 is right off of Interstate 64. The whole place looks brand new and is in excellent condition. Follow me on:

Looks like you found a fairly rare hybrid Sonny’s tunnel. Both friction and touch free. Odd that there were no sets of wraps.
$9 for the best wash at a tunnel is awesome!! I pay $12-$18 for the best at a tunnel!!

+The Elevator channel the reason the attendant put that wiper bag on the rear windshield wiper is so the mitter curtain and / or wrap arounds dont rip the wiper blade off

The reason why it is required put a wrapper on the windshield wiper is because all Sonny's car washes tend to damage the back wiper and the bag somehow reduces the chance.
That was a bag on the rear wiper. The tunnel washes around here do that & most people then end up driving around with it on. And they stack the vehicles in pretty tight, too.
This is not a MacNeil carwash. This is a sonnys tunnel. That's also a very unique layout to. Never seen one like that before. And nice video!

me and my friends would've taken a 2008 Scion xb to the sonny's tunnel car wash at the phillips 66 gas station in lake st louis mo.
The rear wiper is taped to the car, so that the brushes that move back and forth don't get caught on (and possibly break) the wiper.
That car wash is older then u might think. Love the new camera layout

I'd love to know how the machine knew what you purchased...must be some number plate regonition system...seeing as a lot of cars go through at the same time

Funny how I Google Maps for car washes here, none exist within 30 miles. Of course, I've found several simply by driving.
The problem I've found is that many gas stations with car washes aren't properly tagged. Usually, if I don't find any car washes in the area, I look up gas stations and check them out individually (via street view/satellite).
Ahh, yeah, that's a good way to go about it.

Hey the walmart car wash (AKA best) has a laserwash 360 and a tandem.
The reason the guy put a plastic cover on the rear window wiper is because the high pressure water scratches plastic
Damn those high pressure washers in the beginning in the middle of the tunnel are moving way too fast they should probably be going half the speed, bet they go through hoses like crazy from that amount of friction.

As Riley (carwashnews) Pointed out, this is NOT MacNeil equipment!! It's Sonny's Equipment which is made right here in the state of florida! How on earth would you think this is MacNeil equipment?!
My knowledge of tunnel systems is limited at best. The only two other ones I've filmed were MacNeil, and they had that same mirror over the entrance with the "tire here" sticker. I saw that and took a guess. Any tips on how to identify one from the other?
***** well, some tunnels are as i like to call "Frankenwashes" because they have alot of different equipment in them. so its really hard to tell on all of the stuff.

look up the Sonny's UA-cam channel, you'll find lots of stuff about there equipment.
Look at the S-POD especially. All car washes should have them.

Rockers are technically brushes.
Well they are, but they don't wrap around the front and back like wraps do. Even van washers don't. You really want to get that front and back cleaning. Don't get me wrong, I view rockers as essential for cleaning the lower sides of the car, but wraps are even more essential in my opinion.
