I am from Production Engineering dept in jadavpur University and the fact he is addressing is harsh truth which one can realise only after choosing the wrong branch. It can be a serious concern as one cannot change the branch after that and can lead to a lot of troubles. So I suggest everyone to prioritise their goals first and then opt for a particular branch to get best results.
Being a student of this branch I am aware of this issue. The highly qualified professors want perfection in the answer scripts 😅. But what he said is not 100% true. 3rd and 4th yr are a little easier compared to 2nd yr. 2nd yr is the toughest. And coming to the qn of choosing this branch, many of our passouts have cracked CAT and are now sitting in top positions, every year there is a student who flies abroad for higher education, and there are coders too, be it web dev or ML enthusiasts. Also you will find plenty of production engg students in various club activities and union too . Flexibility does exist bro 🙂. So, I advise my juniors not to think about the pressure. If u think production engg has pressure then go and ask mechanical or electrical engineers. If u are passionate enough to pursue engineering, then this pressure is nothing. You all have faced 10X more pressure while preparing for JEE. Even we pass after studying on the last day.
