Thanks for the video, I'm a Colombian guy living in Canada and because everything is different back there I sometimes get stuck trying to fix something, keep uploading videos about everything, the car, lawnmower, and fixing stuff around the house! Awesome job!
What length Gizmo should I purchase? Some reviews of the Gizmo in your link state it does not have a blowout. Enjoyed your video,! Your instructions for closing a fiberglass pool were very easy to follow and understand! Thank you!
Thank you for the information, I do have one question as to othe bottom drains. Do you just leave those or do you cover them? You cant realy blow those out can you? *new pool owner:)
So, I don’t have bottom drains but I’m pretty sure I’ve seen videos of people blowing air through those lines as well. I don’t know how you’d keep them from filling right back up with water, but if you look into some videos specific to pools with bottom drains, you may find some info on that.
Amazing video and thank you so much for taking the time to make it. I have pretty much the same set up and was just wondering about how you keep the water level at the skimmer throughout the winter? Are you periodically draining/filling the pool? Thanks again!
I do have to add water occasionally, but usually just once or twice during the off season. I open the cover every 3-4 weeks if we get some warmer weather just to check the level.
Great video, I'm done paying 400+ for someone to do what I can. The only problem I have is that no one makes a duck plug that fits jacuzzi brand return jets. So while the air is blowing bubbles I have to jam the rubber plugs in.
Nope. My warranty actually says that the water level has to be above the bottom of the skimmer at all times. I am probably going to block the skimmers off this year though.
What month do you winterize your pool? I waited until the second week of November to do mine this year.

after you add antifreeze do you close valves or leave open?

Was it truly a big deal or did you just need to muscle it a little bit?
Do you not drain it below the skimmer?

So you didn’t drain your pool below the skimmer? That’s a lot of trust in the Gizmo?
Why would you? it's just gonna fill up again if it rains and/or snows.. that's the point of the gizmo.
My pool takes care of its self. Plugs out = mice in.
Balancing the water before closing is a bunch of horseshit and so is circulating the pool for hrs. There is no need to do either one
I’m just passing along advice from several pool care professionals. Feel free to add or omit as many steps as you please.
