As a sib of Fred's, we all have our own survival stories of our family experience(s). I would love to co-partner with Abba God's spirit to heal our family's deep wounds. The extreme lack of closeness is unusual and generations deep.

@@kshillingford4921 and outside the industry. It’s becoming very acceptable and sadly the church has also accepted it. So many from the pulpit to the door. Worst than the world. We truly need healing in the church body. That’s why so many don’t want to come to church or run from God. They understand the world but can’t comprehend why church folk are worst. It takes deliverance from it all and truly focusing on Jesus Christ alone. So many leave their families (good or bad wives) and uncovered the children can suffer. But yet the famous ones continue to reach millions while losing their own. Which is the total opposite of Christ. He would not leave his sheep. 😢. Prayers for all the children caught in these webs … Jesus set the captives free. And the adults who repeat the cycle because they were once the children in the web.

Everything she's saying needs to be said to her father not the rest of the world...This is their journey....There's so much I want to address not just as a mother myself of an adult Son, who has rejected me, but also address the dynamics of having Christ believing parents and how they process, think and handle their kids, and most times it's very different than non Christ believers...Both of my parents are devote C.O.G.I.C. members & pastors, and they are very religiously & traditionally motivated...But there's layers to this, and healing respect & forgiveness must take place before ppl can move forward towards any progress...

This is interesting! When a child has a parent in the field of entertainment and ministry, a lot of times, those children feel neglected. You hear this all the time. Those parents see themselves as honorable because they are doing everything they can to do for their families, only to find out the everything they were doing was everything but establishing a relationship with that child. My dad was a Composer and Jazz Musician, and he provided well for me. I never wanted for anything except a relationship. As parents in life, we seem to have this idea that as long as I'm providing the best for our children, that's okay. But children are people too, they want time along with the financial support. We hear it all the time!! Parents say, "I don't understand, I did everything for them!! It's never a child's responsibility to form a close relationship with a parent. Children don't have that level of maturity to know how to accomplish that. We have to stop treating our children like pieces of furniture and, once in a while, dust them off! You can't change what's been done! But as parents, if our children say, "I'm hurt, let's take a look at it and be willing to hear and show compassion to our children. Never attack their pain!! This young woman talked about her wanting to follow in her dad's footsteps. Probably to have her dad's acceptance. She did say, "She wanted to make HER family proud!!" (Acceptance) By listening to her, she's a hurt child walking around with in an adult's body!" Many folks are living this life!! Our bodies have grown, but the hurt child is still running the show. Because of this, it affects every relationship in our lives. In order to start healing, we must be able to have that conversation in a safe space!! (Non- judgmental space) As a child, our parents are our God!! And when that fails us in any way, it can be traumatizing. Children don't understand things about life! They are so pure and innocent! This not only happens to celebrity children and ministry children but a great number of children. As parents, we honestly believe we've done our best. Only to find out our children are collateral damage. As parents, we need to be open to listening to our children's pain and willing to discuss it. Most of the time, our children come to Understand, we were never their God, but we are people that make mistakes too! Be willing to accept the collateral damage we caused and work from there. But never allow them to try to crucify you because some of them will!

This is so amazing! I was divorced and we had children but I never tried to keep my children from their father and I taught them to honor their father. I remarried an amazing man who encouraged my children to embrace their father, he prayed for him he led us to pray for my children’s father when he was absent of his own choice. ThenI watched my husband struggle in his relationship with his children, I encouraged him to continue to call, text and be patient that Malachi 4:6 would be his portion. I believe that children need their parents. Unless they are abusive that’s another conversation. We sometimes don’t survive in marriages but we can move on with the grace of God and in love.

Your father's story is similar to mine when I wasn't able to be in my boys' life when they were kids. Even though I made attempts to explain my side of the story, I don't believe they're willing to accept the truth about their mother and the part they played why our relationship didn't work.

I didn't watch the show but pray, trust, and believe him and his BEAUTIFUL daughter will work things out! 🥲🥲🥲🥲

Long story short. He stopped talking to me. After some yrs, we started communicating again. Fathers, its not over. Stay open if you can but dont let your child abuse and dont you abuse the option of a good relationship.

    Here's what I know as a daughter...
Daughters more often than NOT are deeply loyal to their fathers even his wrong. I dont know why Father's (some) dont seem to believe that children (especially daughters) are quite capable of developing an opinion based upon the RELATIONSHIP that men (fathers) CHOOSE to cultivate.
The mere fact that she is speaking out says much more about whats REALLY going with him than it does her. She seemed to GENUINELY love her father (she still does) but now she's holding him ACCOUNTABLE for HIS failures as a father. He really showed whats important to HIM by speaking on social media rather than speaking to HIS child..
It's unfortunate that she felt going on a REALITY show to get his attention would at least start conversation, and clearly it did...

I agree with you. We can’t discard what Bree is saying just because we love Fred Hammond’s gift of singing. Fred saying that she put him in a closet so don’t be surprised that he’s in that closet, is a very immature response to her pain. He’s more worried about his image than her pain. Fred could easily fix the relationship but he’s obviously angry that she’s speaking publicly

Very nice approach to dealing with this subject. I lost my Dad at 8 years old. He was a great dad. To all those who feel like it's your dad's fault things didn't work out, and you are estranged from him, live a day in my life. And he's gone decades ago, but I wish he was here. Stop the blame game and be reconciled. Because you will be wailing at the funeral. And that's too late, and it's also tough love from me. Forgive and be forgiven. Get out of your prison. The devil is a liar! Reach out. If you are the Dad, do the same. Come on!

I remember an episode of the Walton where mom and dad had to speak to their son and his wife but before they said a word. John Walton said, " you young folk run on outside this is grown folk business." They didn't say a word until the kids left. I had so much respect for decency and self respect. My parents kept me out of their arguments and I was grateful. My dad did a lot but my mom kept quiet as a believer in Christ. She wasn't weak but obedient by not arguing. Because of her I believe in forgives and letting God handle our battles even if it hurts. Our parents generation went through mess and had to learn grace. Reality TV has done too much to destroy the black community and Moreno God's people.

What Bothers me the most is when people particularly men immediately come to the defense of a man because of his popularity or status…… being a black man with children I know for a fact… just by listening to his daughter that unfortunately she has grown up without him….and he has gone on with his career without her…..and was unbothered by it…. Bro….. one of the strongest loves you will ever have is the love of a daughter for her father…… instead of him telling the Truth and say “he failed her as a Father” he calls her crazy….. He showed his true Character……what’s done in the Dark will always come to the light….. obviously he is a Gospel music performer…. But a Christian….? I don’t think so…… you can best believe if she had grown up with the love of a real father…. She wouldn’t be on that show telling how much of a father he wasn’t….. These type of men have failed the black church….. their main goal is money and fame….. when their family’s are neglected and suffering.

Man I appreciate your truth about what you went through with your dad. It's really sad how the custodial parent can really hurt their kids, with their opinions about the noncustodial parent.
I totally agree and have had to trust in what your dad said about the TRUTH. All we ever have is the whole TRUTH. Unfortunately, the poison is so absorbed by the kids, by the time they start to see things for themselves, the emotional damage has been done. Also, the kids usually never give the parent an opportunity to say their side, and many won't stop to listen to the objective TRUTH of the whole matter.

No forgiveness is for both parties it shows compassion but Also humbleness. You already see what a non forgiving we world can do. Forgiveness is spiritual it's not easy when sooo many thought of pain, vengeance, n pride are in our minds. It decays the heart.😢

I want love and respect. How much will you love someone you don’t respect or respect someone you don’t love? As a little child the first scripture I remembered and greatly try to practice is “do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. I never asked any woman to “let” me lead. GOD made that decision when he created man and woman for those who are lead by GOD.!!!

Parental Alienation is devastating for both parents and children. It's difficult terrain because it's hard to keep the children out of the divorce when one parent is telling their version whether it's truth or lies and the other parent stays silent to not involve the children. Maybe one parent has moved on and the other is still bitter with whatever transpired in the marriage and can't let go of that bitterness and only finds happiness in that they were successful in passing that bitterness on to their child/children where he/she now has an estranged or non-existent relationship with the other parent. That bitterness will be manifested in your children's future relationships. Parents, let your children experience the love and happiness of having a relationship with the other parent. I am divorced, but always encourage my children to call, reach out, remember holidays, share time with their other parent. If my children are happy, I'm happy!

  • @fountainofgodchristiancent6036

In any relationship, there will always be two sides to a story. Proverbs 18:17 echos this sentiment by saying that "the one who speaks first seems right until cross examination takes place!" Also, it's not wise to draw a conclusion concerning a matter until both sides are heard. Parents who divorce must consider the children and not influence their child/ children to take sides. A child desires to be loved by both parents. God designed for both individual parents to bring specifics to the table of a child's life that cannot be done by the other parent. Therefore, both parents are necessary. I pray that healing takes place in this relationship.

There is no way that God can use a person like He uses Fred in music and song. Fred’s music ministers not only to God by us as well. I can truly relate to him. My daughter closed the door on me so many times because I won’t give her money. It’s funny how Fred’s daughter sounds like my daughter, living in a world of make believe. I walk the plank of her silent treatment maybe 7 or 8 months out of EVERY YEAR. I would say to Fred, give it to God. Let go and let God! You perform for an audience of one, the Lord Jesus Christ. And if God is satisfied with your life, who would care what the world thinks about you. Just another attempt of the enemy to keep division not only in the family by also in the body!!! To God be the glory.

Fred is a human being, not God. Some of these so called “church people” put Church leaders above the safety and well being of the children. It’s no different than when Bishop Eddie Long was having affairs with teenage boys at his church. Instead of church members supporting the boys, they called them liars and uplifted Bishop. You guys are like a sick cut. In your eyes, church leaders are God. It’s wrong on all levels.

Sad that so many families are broken. Marriage is a covenant and is very important for families. Yet we have managed to support departing mothers or fathers. Then the children are left to heal and pressured to deal with two sides of a story, told to forgive and move on. Glad some children can but some can’t. Many parents are adults that claim they were too young when they had children or got married expect their own children to understand. Unfortunately it doesn’t work like that. Many have reached out to that absent parent and have faced fatal results… even in forgiveness. Glad you had good results and was able to understand your dad. God bless your mom for raising children alone. Sorry she didn’t measure up to be what you felt. Maybe one day you will understand. Hopefully both of them are free and blessed since all of you are adults now. Life happens

Just because I won't allow a boy with a pecker to dress like a woman I'm unloving... just because it's rules and cultures I don't like...I challenge them.... if it's rules and cultures I don't like...I don't challenge or try to convince change them...I just won't do it! The way her Mom said she had no income when Fred left and had to find a job that she could do.. I have never heard Fred in any interview speak of his daughter, and the lame excuse of someone putting you on a shelf means nothing to a real Father, he would actively pursue a relationship with his children.. He should've been there to support her performance.. Fred doesn't have to wait for her, go get your daughter as Jesus did when one sheep went astray he left the 99 to bring back the one...

I will say that Divorce does hurt families, as my parents divorced when I was 19. As a mom I understand that although I carry all the weight for my children our divorce affects them and they process differently. I have to overcompensate and hear them out because sin affects love. I want to make sure they feel loved not just me thinking I've done my part. I am committed to forever loving them and pursuing my kids. They have a perspective and I have mine regarding the evil done against me. I do tell the the truth of their father and they are seeing it all in time.

We can guess and speculate all day, the truth of the matter is they both probably bare some responsibility as adults for the condition of their relationship, I understand that as a child it is the adults responsibility to cultivate a relationship but as a person grows up and realizes the issues, it falls on both parties, both need to be healed, he may have experienced the same or similar problems or issues coming up or maybe not, what I do know is trying to work it out on a “reality show” is NOT the way, I know God is able to work this out if they let him, they are definitely going to have to keep people who mean them no good out of their business.

Many children will never understand what their Fathers secretly went through with their Mothers. Not all but a lot of women love their children and try to raise their husbands. They disrespect him , disregard him, withhold themselves from their him , while that poor fellow is only out there trying to get the things she keeps complaining her and the kids need. And then a lot of times , he can’t tell her NOTHING! She wants him to
listen to her but she NEVER has to listen to him! She’s upset all the time. She gets to scream and yell and sometimes even hit. And she doesn’t communicate why, just the silent treatment for days and even weeks! He has to try to be a mind reader. Then come to find out, it was over something she THOUGHT he did or meant. Only to realize what he trying to say and where he was coming from. By that time it doesn’t matter , because in the days prior she has eviciserated his manhood, called him every kind of weakling known to man, flipped out , freaked out , and then get to come back with no apologies and act if nothing has happened . And the fellow knows through experience, that this is just the eye of the storm , the hurricane will pass through again in about 3 1/2 days! And we’re not even going to talk about if she is a spoiled compulsive shopper Daddy’s Girl! Then when the poor Guy finally gets fed up , ( And these be Decent Dudes! ) and can’t take it because there is no
peace in his home, he leaves or GOD FORBIDS , he falls to temptation because he gets NO RESPECT or intimacy at home! She then gets to play the innocent victim to his kids . The children have NO IDEA what their Mom has put their father through. Because they and her think that she is perfect because she keeps going to Church and has never commited PHYSICAL adultery. Now he has to wait sometimes 5 or 6 years until they ( the kids) see FOR THEMSELVES what their Dad had to deal with many times. I have seen it a million times. ( I know men like this but , but this happens a lot more with women than talked about) And then the poor guy gets blamed because he was supposed to be everyone’s hero ( including the Church’s) and try to keep a Family together while trying to keep peace with a rebellious wild so called “ strong” woman , who has more personalities than Eddie Murphy! .The Truth is is that a lot of women run their husbands off or just plain drive them away. 🤔 And many times the man can’t even come around and try to have a continual relationship with his children , because number one , her hatred toward him is ALL OUT . Doing all the lowdown dirty stuff she can get away with it without exposing her true self ! Be cause we are men and are supposed to be able to take ANYTHING! While she is waiting At every turn to act cold and pick fights with him . Kids I know y’all don’t wanna hear this , but a lot of times ( not every) your father’s seemingly “abandonment was simply your Dad NOT TRYING TO
GO TO JAIL!! This is not every woman but GOD IS MY WITNESS , this is not an unusual scenario in many many many homes where there is an impossible female. It’s better to dwell in the corner of a rooftop ………… Don’t tell me that scripture is not true !!
