You make everything clear. I was trying to relocate an object to the c-plane to edit it separately from it's group (kinda like you do at the bench). Now I can edit in place by simply changing the c-plane!
thank you, some times some command doesn't respond, therefor can u please more simplify when you make some hard command, but your work is great, keep going.
I've learned about c-planes from several people, but you explained it best. Also, cleaning up the workspace after an operation or "move" is almost never covered. IOW, what do you do if you want to return to where you were? You cover restoring the c-plane position clearly at the end. Thanks!
I'm a rhino vetran...but for some reason... I never really had to use the cplanes to map to strange rotated geometry...but... this TOTALLY HELPED ME. Thank you! xie xie!
I'm new to Rhino, been learning it for around 2 weeks now, and this is the first tutorial I have seen that actually explains it so well. Thank you so much. By the way, it's just my opinion, but in Rhino, I think they should show the Z axis for the Front/Right and Left views, why do they show the Green 'y' axis ? That doesn't make sense to me. It should show World coordinates in my opinion.
Hi, is there a way to save the modified C-plane while working with 2 planes at the same time. Instead of having to reset one and having to define the other? I would rather have a hot key to switch back and forth but I can't seem to be able to name the modified c-plane to anything. I have to do it the long way, is there a way to do it. Rhino has already named c-planes. But, how would I be able to make my own c-planes and save them?
I got it.. I just had to open the command setCplane>named CPlanes>save as> named the CPlane, and since I did a two letter name. When I want to use the custom C-Plane. I just hit OA.. and to go back to world>top view, I put that under a hotkey.. 10 times faster.. which are all set in options>keyboard> you pick which key combo you want to use and just type in the macro for the command.
What happens to the other views when I change the C plane only in the “perspective” one? The top, the front and the right one, will adapt to the new c plane or they are independent of each other? Thank you PJ :)
You always make very useful videos with clear explanation
Thank you!
Much faster way than what I have been doing. Thanks for the video!

you will able to see all three x,y,z in perspective view. Top Front Right can be only see 2 axis. they are orthographic view.

Çok teşekkürler. Türkiye'den merhaba ✋👍
You are very welcome!
If you need to "Project" when using a different CPlane I believe I need to "Set one of the Views" to match the Cplane first. Is that Correct?
that is correct. but most of the time you will project to "see through" plane. otherwise, it will be just one curve.
Thank you was nice tutorial
You are welcome 😊

Thank you PJ :)
it only apply to the active view you are at.
