When you have the power to help your people, become a real life super hero and a legend, but you're blinded by fashion and spend all your wealth and salary on fancy clothes to show off and dance while the rest of the population is suffering. This is really disgraceful. The Belgians and French and the European settlers have butchered these poor countries.

I think this is absolutely wonderful. Good for them if that’s what they want. I see many comments here, most of which are probably from other countries and cultures…that are stating what they feel these people “should” use their money on. They’re stating how they themselves would prefer a nice house, or these people live in trash wearing fancy clothes. Maybe in their culture a big nice house isn’t as important as it is to these commenters. The Dandies might be thinking you’ve wasted your money on a big stupid house and you dress like a pheasant. Maybe they think you should spend your money wiser than buying a car or a house. If you commenters think they should spend their time and money fixing “their country”…maybe you should sign up to do so yourself if you’re so concerned.

That's why they have nice couches, carpets, belts, Timberland boots, etc.. matter of fact I had never spent more than 20USD on sneakers and when I come to Europe the same sneakers are sold for 240USD per pair, but guess what I tell you that all those suites them wearing the most expensive will be 200USD and less. Well, it's fine !
    Why not ?
These young gentlemen don't harm anyone.
They are young once... as all other people and they want to impress.
So, why they shouldn't follow their visions, if this is, what they can put into reality?
If they are living in a hut or tent or castle, it is not deceiding.
They feel better dressed this way than with regular clothes, so what ?!
Honestly , pride and self- confidence sells!
So long as they are no criminals , they can spend their money for what they want.

What got me curious is where they get their money. Even working class Americans would be hard pressed to save up enough to get a collection of clothing like the Sapeurs.

Their environment is not their business, that’s their government’s job, if the government has failed to do their job for decades, that’s not up to the citizens to do it, they already pay taxes, let them enjoy life and do what they want with their money

Obama was the first American Dandy. He brought the Sapeur tradition to Washington from his homeland in Africa. During his occupation of the White House Obama and Big Mike hosted many extravagant events filled with hip hop and Hellywood dandies.
