“Listen... I literally dream of being a woman with a skin care routine, that smells good always and eats vegetables, but I am a swamp demon and I’m doing what I can with that.” - Unknown (Tumblr probably) 😆
Cristine, I love how much you and dadlogical promote self love. It is amazing. I struggled for a long time to love myself and recently I've been catching myself looking in the mirror, thinking "Damn! She's gorgeous!" and I like to think that you had a role in that. ❤
"I think this is obvious, but obviously, I think you're gorgeous without using Facetune." 19:13 Ben is really intent on killing us all, isn't he? My ship has sailed, guys.
Like it's the use of the word 'gorgeous', like if it was 'beautiful' or something, I think it wouldn't be as like falling-on-the-ground-esque for viewers, but like gorgeous? We stan that.
My family plays this game where we go onto Instagram and find pictures where like the background curves in showing they photoshopped it. Who ever finds the most pictures wins.
Thank you Cristine so much for pointing out all of the issues about apps like this and saying that just because someone you look up to does something doesn’t mean you have to. This is why I look up to you. You are comfortable with yourself, your body, and your choices in your life, and you don’t take in peoples hate and let it affect you. I want to be like you and be comfortable in my own body, and while I’m not completely there yet I know I’m on the way because of you and how supportive you are of me and other people you don’t even know. Thank you. 💖
I'm a fifteen-years old girl surrounded by people older than me and I never did any make-up or edited my face. Cristine is the only person who is influencing me in any way and I'm really proud of it. Sadly, she isn't too popular in here, I think. I live in Poland and almost every teen is doing really visible make-up. They can point out every single bad thing about my face. Make fun out of me. But yet, I'm still moving forward, facing everyone. Don't get me wrong - I'm a coward. I keep hiding. I don't like people, I don't post photos, unless everyone is telling me that my profile picture is not correct anymore. But I'm being myself, having a tea and books collection, reading about serial killers and writing poems from time to time, and just loving to wear dresses with rose-shaped earrings. I'll be honest - there are many things that I'd change in myself. But yet, I don't want to. I'd lose myself. I'd lose happiness. I'd lose my soul. Yet, if doing make-up is something that makes you happy - okay. Just remember that beauty is not on the outside, even thoung everyone is judging you based on the cover. Sooo... Yeah. These were my 2 cents that I losely threw into the topic.
7 months late but your comment made me happy and proud of you🥰. I hope you continue to be yourself and not let those people make you feel bad about it . If you want reassurance that you're making the right choices, just look at how all the 90's 'plastic hotties' look today. It's not a good look in the long run. You might feel insecure now but when you get older you're gonna look so much better and younger than all of them😁. I used to want to change a lot about myself too when I was a teenager and now that I'm old (27😭) I am so happy I never did. Keep being you♥️
@@daniellevankruining194 Heyyy, just look at that - I'm seven months late, too. That's not as long as you may think. Life goes by fast, because time does the same. Yeah, I'm quite okay. There were a lot of things happening with my life in the past ten months that made me REALLY insecure and kinda hate myself, my face and pretty much everything in me. But! My boyfriend really helped me to recover, endlessly telling me that I'm "the most beautiful person and the most beautiful woman he has ever came across". Right now, I only wear makeup sometimes - just when I'm meeting someone and feeling like it's the time to do so, and the reason behind that is, I just love that goth-ish, a bit medieval aesthetic since I was at least four. Not full-goth, though. Just a black, rich (not expensive, though) laced dress, earrings in the shape of black roses, a tad of almost white foundation, because being basically a full-time vampire is my hobby, dark lipstick and something with eyes. And that's all the changes, applied the max amount of once per two months, because of the whole Corona thing. My everyday look is still the same - completely clean face and brushed hair, so don't worry :) I'm still myself, doing what I love - and I love writing, drawing, learning languages... It's just school that is really draining right now, so I don't really have time or mindspace to enjoy these little things. The only thing that has gotten worse is probably my social anxiety. I mean, I don't really have a problem with interacting with strangers, I overcame that, but it's just the people that I know, who can actually influence my life - they scare me to death, what they might think, when they hear me stuttering or start crying, seemingly out of blue, because is might be my turn to speak soon. They all interpretate these things as wanting attention, while I just REALLY don't need it. Sorry for rambling. Now, all I want to say is that you're a wonderful person, and 27 (now probably 28) isn't old at all. You're probably beautiful just the way you are. Life is about being happy - why wouldn't you do whatever makes you feel this way and stop caring about things you can't change? Be glad with who you are. Be happy with yourself. Look at all your positive traits and keep them in mind at all times. If you're struggling with this (which I know many people are) - you care about a random teen on the internet, that's unusual and beautiful! Okay? :)
I am so grateful I grew up before social media. It's hard enough being a teenager, now couple that with online peer pressure and cyber bullying. No thanks.
Alternate perspective here (I'm 38) I grew up pre social media mostly, and even mostly before internet chatrooms were easily accessible . And I was miserable. Because i was a freak. Weirdo. And thus looser. Being an artist and , well, interesting... I was constantly pressured and taunted and ignored (depending on which tactic would most hurtful in situation) It didn't break me, but it was lonely AF and exhausting. It wasnt until highschool that i met others that were outcasts. And even then I still didnt fit in. I was constantly changing look, never committing to one genre or group. The introduction of online interaction enabled me to meet people from all over the world. Gave me place to find my true self. And through social media have a constant reminder that no matter where I am, I have a huge chosen family who loves me as is. Only encouraging me to change to be better version of self. Healthier, happier, more secure, etc. I feel for our youth over the lack of sleep and pressures of college. But there was alllllways bullying and children were cruel long before the internet was invented. Your close friends were literally physicslly close and often everyone tolerated epic bullying from people we considered our best friends. Because loosing that person would alter our lives so dramatically. Yeah, cliques still exist. Popularity is a cage fight... but kids are also capable of refusing to tolerate crap behaviour from others. Capable of finding support from others with genuine common interests. Every gen has its own damage. Social media creates different problems not worse ones. Hell. My mom was easily the prettiest girl in her highschool class. But was called a whore and treated horribly. Because she was dark of hair and eyes in a sea of blue eyed blondes. She once sandpaper her freckles off when she was a kid. Literally sanded her skin with rough grit from her dads tool box.
Fidget Zaftig I agree. I’m 46 and growing up I had a few friends, but no one that I had anything in common with so I always felt weird. I was bullied, but luckily I was often too oblivious to realise, so because they didn’t often get any reaction from me it really stopped happening too much! Anyway, when I finally could afford a PC and the internet I was floored to realise I wasn’t a total weirdo, there were actually plenty of people I could relate to! It was fantastic. I finally have friends that’s I’ve kept for years rather than being kind of friends with people but drifting apart over time because we have so little in common. Also, as an introvert it helps. I find being with people exhausting to the point I can really only do it a couple of times a week. Now I can talk to people and not get drained. I do think the internet makes bullying easier though. It makes adults so much worse, so it’s bound to make kids worse.
I got curious and looked up facetune on the app store and it is the #1 paid app!!! Which is insane to me! I love how Cristine promotes self love so much. I can now walk by the mirror and say "damn she gorgeous" instead of hiding under the hood of a jacket and not look up at anything. We love you Cristine thank you for being such an inspiring person!!!!!! no one should do anything to themselves to make them "more beautiful" just because of judgement. you are beautiful and no one will change that except for yourself. the choice is yours

This was amazing! I honestly think you guys should make a podcast (simply mom and dadlogical) relating to cultural and sociological issues influenced by digital media - the way you both speak is knowledgeable as well as comfortable and easy to understand. I know that's probably a little unrealistic considering your work schedules and UA-cam commitments but I personally love the ethical and moral lectures between you and Ben... Keep up the amazing work ♡ We need more people like you online!
I'm honestly so thankful you became one of my role models when I was 16 and seeing how earnest you are compared to many other UA-camrs and beauty gurus. this video actually came out at a time when I was in a really bad place in terms of my own body dysmorphia and this really helps me to go back too when I feel especially weird about how I look.
As a 13 yr old girl, i'd be lying if i said i wasn't affected by society's beauty standards. I've only ever tried face tune once as a joke and turns out, i'm really bad at it lol. I've tried to learn to love myself but it's still very hard. I'm very lucky to have found this channel and others like it. It's hard for me to see myself as beautiful but i'm hoping that, at one point, i'll be able to look in the mirror and see someone i love. To anybody who relates: You are beautiful and you matter. Even if you can't see it now. Just remember that beauty is on the inside, as cheesy as it sounds. As long as you're a good person, you're beautiful in my eyes. Edit: Wow thank you so much for the likes and sweet comments
As a 21 year old woman, I’ve given up trying to be in societies idealised “beauty standards”. We should all be proud of what we look like and who we are. We shouldn’t hide behind make up and plastic surgery 😊💕
Confidence is all you need girl. I’ll be 30 This year and it took me being in my mid 20s to learn to love myself - Flaws and all. When I look back on things, I use to be super insecure. All I’d do is stare at mirrors, windows just to see how I’d look lol. Why? Because I wanted “acceptance” from others. When you realize you’re not going to be everyone’s cup of tea and that’s okay, then you have freedom to stop caring. I believe you can start young with this mindset. Never apologize for being yourself, just be happy. It’s a beautiful thing to be imperfectly yourself because it makes YOU who YOU are 💕.
i turned 13 today and i always feel chubby and fat (im 145 lbs 5'2) and it's unhealthy and im trying to eat healthier but it's hard because of temptations. looking at all of these gurus almost makes me want to stop eating even though i know it's unhealthy and very bad.
AS A twelve year old, all i can say say is, no mater what others say about you, as long as you focus what YOU live about yourself, go out with no shame. Thats what i do. I just dont care who others think of me, an that has lifted my self-esteem and moral.
My upper lip also "disappears" when I smile. Never realised until my bf pointed out how gorgeous he thinks it looks. You're beautiful, Cristine, and I loved this. ❤

Keep being you♥️
Thanks for those lovely words. I myself am 14 and it hurts to see kids at my school now
i live in Polska
Really late reply but I hope you're well:D
My everyday look is still the same - completely clean face and brushed hair, so don't worry :)
I'm still myself, doing what I love - and I love writing, drawing, learning languages...
No thanks.
I didn't even let my son have a My Space page until he turned 18. And once he turned 18 he didn't like it!
Lucky you- it sucks to be a teen in this day and age
Alternate perspective here (I'm 38)
I grew up pre social media mostly, and even mostly before internet chatrooms were easily accessible .
I’m a teen and I’m so happy an adult finally understand
I always love the shade Ben and Cristine throw in most of her vids😂

This was amazing! I honestly think you guys should make a podcast (simply mom and dadlogical) relating to cultural and sociological issues influenced by digital media - the way you both speak is knowledgeable as well as comfortable and easy to understand. I know that's probably a little unrealistic considering your work schedules and UA-cam commitments but I personally love the ethical and moral lectures between you and Ben... Keep up the amazing work ♡ We need more people like you online!
Yes, I'd love them to have a podcast 😁
Joanna Szydelko that would be amazing!!
Actual advice from real people on the Internet! 👏🎉
13 is an awkward age don't worry concentrate on other stuff for now like having fun xxx
Confidence is all you need girl. I’ll be 30
This year and it took me being in my mid 20s to learn to love myself - Flaws and all.
Ben: you could go to Coachella looking like that
Cristine: no, I should take my shirt off first.. can the app do that??
Rofl😂😂😂
My upper lip also "disappears" when I smile. Never realised until my bf pointed out how gorgeous he thinks it looks.
You're beautiful, Cristine, and I loved this. ❤
