The only thing I see here is that DJI just wanted to release a new drone that wasn’t leaked before it was released. Next, Keep an eye out on the fcc pages for the new DJI Air 4K which will be a rebadges Mavic Air 2. 😂

@@richardb8492 - I'm happy for them to do this. If the 4K is an upgraded SE that works as well as or better than a Mini 2, I have no problem with it. I'm thinking of buying the 4K just to have a backup to my current Mini 2. I lost my first Mini 2 up a tree where I couldn't get to it (days later it fell out of the tree in a windstorm and got run over by a car). If they do make a rebadged Mavic Air 2, it will doubtless be at a better price, and I'd like one!
I just wish there were reasonable alternatives to DJI.

I have two mini 2 original drones. I bought the first one and have been so impressed with it that I just had to buy a second as a backup drone. I have many larger more advanced drones but there's just something about the original Mini 2 that screams perfection. It has a 4 to 5 km range and can almost fly as far as my Mavic Air 2. It basically has everything I need in a lightweight low profile drone. It's real quiet and when people see me fly it they just think it's a toy and yet it takes great, usable, video. My second mini 2 is stored safely away waiting for me to wear out the first one. But, the first one just keeps going and going and going. To me, the original mini 2 is a micro masterpiece and I plan to fly it for many more years to come. Cheers!

Very honest video man. Many people dislike how DJI marketing the 4K as an “innovation” upgraded version of the mini 2 SE while hiding the comparison with mini 2.
The truth is, they could be more transparency and say that the 4K is the best combination of those drones, best 4K camera from mini 2, upgrading with mini 2 SE design, adding new functions like RID, and more years of software support under a competitive price. Just that is enough to calm down most people. 😂

For me, this is brilliant. I currently have 2 Phantom 4 and a Mini 2 that is 3 years old and has been repaired after crashes twice. Would I like a Mini 4 Pro? Yes, of course, but since I rarely fly after dark, none of my clients have ever complained about the image/video quality from the Mini 2. The Mini 2 SE was never an alternative because of the video quality, but this is a total no-brainer. I'll buy one of these and won't any longer have to bring a bulky P4 as backup.
As always, it's my ability to shoot and edit, or the lack thereof, that is the limitation, not the drone.

Anyway we should be happy because mini 4k is mini 2 with less than half its original price back then. As a mini 2 user with no problem today (even with mini 4 pro in hand) this is still and must be more than worthed to the new drone owner

When I helped my friend, William, pen the play “Twelfth Night,” I suggested that he have Viola disguise herself as a man and eventually marry Duke Orsino and live happily ever after. It seems, “Seems, madam, I know not seems…,” that DJI has used the Mini 2 disguise ruse to sell the Mini 4K and make its purchasers live “happily ever after.” Cheers from Wisconsin and “The Norton Shakespeare” based on The Oxford Edition.

@@IaninLondon I consider you one of the most articulate voices of the drone community and I am certain that in different circumstances we would have been great friends. In fourth grade I was reading Mary Shelley. I read Shakespeare’s plays before I ever saw one. My love of English Literature is enduring and infinite. Wordsworth, Byron, Shelley, Keats, Coleridge, Shakespeare-on and on have imbued my spirit with dreams and hope. I always thought how wonderful it would be to live in London and summer in The Lake District. Alas, that did not happen, but I was able to share my love of England’s literature with my students for 43 years, and, I think and hope, made their lives better for it. Cheers, my friend.

Hi, anyone know how long a care refresh code is valid for if it is unused.
As far as I can understand if you activate a drone you then have 48hrs to add Care Refresh for that drone.
If you buy a Care Refresh code then that code would be valid until you bind it to a drone, can anyone confirm that for me please. THANKS.

3:43 There is one more difference that you missed: It's visible in the video - the original Mini 2 had a quick transfer button at the rear. You could hold it to establish a Wifi connection to your drone and copy the videos and photos to your phone without having to take out the SD card. The transfer speed wasn't THAT quick, so it's not too bad to lose that feature.
One other difference I've heard about (so not 100% sure on that): Because of drone regulations in the EU, the new Mini 4k will refuse to fly higher than 120m above the height of your home point. So if you plan to fly up the side of a hill or mountain and you start from base in the valley below, that's going to be bad - even when you're careful and stay within 120m to the ground below the drone, it won't work. The older Mini 2 will only warn you about reaching the max height (if you configured it like that), but won't stop flying higher.
